Apparently they've been doing this for like 15 years so it makes sense that it's well-attended. I took an Uber and was glad the parking lot was full- yay for a great turnout! You can pay online but I didn't bother with that since they ask to create an account. I just paid cash at the door ($12). The woman at the front seemed a bit flustered since she was the only one there. It would help if there's guidance for newbies (pay here/get wristband there, water bottles available, etc.). Once I got in, the first thing I looked for was a place to put my coat. There were a bunch by the entrance but I didn't want mine to get lost in the pile. Thankfully I found a coat hanger in a corner in the second room that worked well. The first room was the biggest and the main room. The DJs there played mostly sensual Bachata (wish they had played some traditional Dominican too). The second room was smaller and at first it was the Kizomba room but then it switched to the Salsa room. I wish the ventilation in this room was better. There was no air-flow whatsoever. Ended up spending most of my time by the only fan available. The Salsa song selection was on point! Lots of great classics and danceable songs. They offer a dance lesson before the social begins but I didn't make it in time. Around midnight, there was a special performance in the main room by a couple of instructors. Everyone gathered around to watch. It was an amazing Bachata show! Right after, they had the birthday dance, which is a tradition in many dance communities. Everyone lined up to dance with the birthday person. There were many great dancers and I had a blast! At one point the woman at the front got mad at me for walking through the curtain to go back to the front. I was looking for water bottles and didn't feel like elbowing everyone along the way since it was very crowded. It just seemed like an easy shortcut. She was very upset, which made me feel bad. There was a food truck with great options outside so I just ended up leaving.

Class was 9-10, then the floors were open. The music is FAB! They even had salsa going on in the other studio with live drums! The djs were EXCELLENT. Sound equipment was fabulous! Bathroom nice and clean, and spacious for changing. The lighting and ambience is just fantastic! Really good. The temperature is great too! Not too hot at all. I appreciated that they had a cop/bouncer dude at the front of the studio. The teacher is gorgeous and knows what she's doing. I definitely will be going back. 100%. Really good people. Tons of fun! For those who are unfamiliar with the Afro-Caribbean/Latin dance world, for many people in the dance community, social dancing is the main reason we decided to start dancing Salsa/Bachata/Merengue/Cumbia, etc. It has two aspects to it: the obvious social one --providing an opportunity to meet other people with the same interest --and dancing - connecting with a partner to create an in-the-moment, completely improvised, spontaneous dance to a song. It's super fun to dance with someone for the first time and try to figure out each other's styles. That's why I enjoy going dancing when traveling. This social is held every 2nd & 4th Saturday inside the Millenium Dance Complex. I was told to look for the stairs and lights, but it was the music that helped me find them. There's an hour dance lesson at 9:30pm and the social is from 10:30pm to 1:30am. Cover is $13 and they have water bottles for $1. The place is a dance studio so there's smooth floors and mirrors on the wall. It is spacious enough to where you don't have to worry about bumping people too much. Also, the music was on point! They played a wide range including Cumbia, Dominican Bachata and classic Salsa songs. I had a blast. Highly recommend!
