Not only did they give us a great price, they paid amazing attention to detail leading up to the big day. They both spent a lot of time and back and forth with us to ensure we were on the same page as far as what type of pictures we wanted, with who, how many, etc. These ladies are very friendly and easy to work with, and have since become personal friends. On the big day, and days leading up to it, they were above and beyond in making sure we were comfortable and getting the coverage we needed. Communication was a bit tough in Mexico seeing as our phones did not work, but they were readily available and willing to cooperate and get things done. On the day itself, they were professional, efficient, and did whatever it took to get "the shot", including Shannon practically laying in the water to get a beautiful angle of my wife and I standing on a beach cliff. She got nailed by a wave, but still got the shot, and did not care one bit! The most important part, of course, is the actual photographs, and they were AMAZING! Don't have a single complaint in the quality, the professionalism, and getting exactly what we wanted. The post-wedding transaction to get the photos was easy and straightforward, with Shannon supplying a nice wooden box with a thumb drive, and all of the photos readily available on her website. She even edited a bunch of pictures for us upon request, to get things like rogue jet-skis out of the background of a few pictures. I will end this as I began it. With LinkedIn and social media being such a big deal now a days, you better look profesh, and you better look good while you're doing it. The preparation that went into the shoot was top notch from the heat being turned up in the studio so my baby wasn't cold to the wide variety of outfits, props, sound machine, and she even had a camping/outdoorsy background that fit our nursery theme! We BOTH felt we were in the best of care; my baby is normally fussy in the hands of strangers but Kara had a way of calming him to get all the cutest poses effortlessly, and I as a new mom was able to finally relax for a few hours. I can't say enough incredible things about Amy at Happy Gnome Photography. I've worked with her on…read morethree separate occasions. First, she shot our engagement photos. We wanted to do something a bit non-traditional. The whole idea started with wanting to include my Grandpa's 1932 Chevy... we knew it wouldn't make the trip out to our Boston wedding as I'd dreamed of as a little one, so instead it was the centerpiece of this shoot. Amy took this idea and ran with it... she provided balloons, brought great props, and even hooked us up with a really incredible mechanics shop for a backdrop. We had a blast, and the shoot turned out exactly how we'd hoped. I then went to Amy for a boudoir session. I told her I'd be in Milwaukee and was interested in a shoot, and within a few days she was setting up a whole shoot that would allow for a friend to do her own session, too. Amy made me feel incredibly comfortable through the entire session. She had great shot ideas and backdrops, and even brought a few accessories to share. My now-husband got his little black book as a morning-of wedding gift... he was blown away! Exactly what I was going for. :) I saved the best for last: our wedding. The incredible emotion that is felt on your wedding day is something you wish you could feel forever; the next best thing is having photos that perfectly capture the day. I still get compliments on how fantastic our photos turned out...of course, we send all the credit to Amy... we just showed up for the pics! Amy was patient, professional, and so easy to work with. She knows how to communicate with a bride on her day, and she will do everything she can to make sure you get what you want. Amy thinks of the little things, like reminding us not to wear socks to our boudoir sessions (weird indents on our skin) or discreetly reminding me that if I'm putting on a strapless dress in a few hours, I should take my bra off to avoid the same marks. What a smart lady! Aside from the actual photos Amy provides, she also does a really great job with customer service post-shoot. She'll often share a "sneak peek" right after a shoot to give you a sense of what to expect, and we always got our photos much faster than I've heard others do from their photographers. She's very clear about what she'll provide and how you can use/print your photos: so important in making sure she gets credit where it's due and you get the photos you want. The payment process is easy peasy. My husband and I moved back to Milwaukee a few months after our wedding, and we plan to use Amy for every photo-worthy event that will come up (newborns, back to school, mini-sessions, anniversary parties, etc etc etc). My husband bought a gift certificate through an online charity auction. After 2 days of trying to…read morereach the "company" I received a phone call back. I explained my needs and that we had purchased the certificate. I asked what options we had an what information she could give me on packages, poses, etc and if there was any information I could view online. She told me that her website was down and I could look on facebook for her information. After finding the "business" page on FB and seeing no description of work, packages, or any other real information I became concerned of the legitimacy of this photographer. She said she would email me information. That email never came, instead she facebook messaged me price per print for 3 different sizes of prints, that was it. I figued since we already paid I would go ahead and book and make the best of it. We set a date for her to come out to my home. I was willing to more than compensate her for her gas and time on top of the gift certificate. She agreed to the time as well as the extra money for travel. One week prior to the date I decided to call her to go over details and confirm everything. She has ignored all my calls, messages, text, and even deleted her Facebook page. Not only did this women falsely represent herself as a professional photographer, but she has now stolen from a charity. She could have canceled the appointment or rescheduled, but she has deliberately gone above and beyond to blow me off. Thats fine. It's obvious she is not a professional but also a sad excuse for a person. Her decisions has caused our family stress and anger in what should have been a very fun and joyful time. I will be reporting her to United Way and will absolutely be filling a claim against her for fraud. More than anything I hope that she doesn't do this to anyone else. Owning a camera doesn't make you a photographer. But blowing off a mom who has already paid you to take their 1year olds special birthday pictures.... That just makes you classless and shows what a lovely person you really are. You shouldn't treat people like this Deborah Fields. It really shows bad character and judgment as a "business owner".
