They also have three fun social events a month: a dance party, a non-dance activity (e.g. karaoke, indoor rock climbing, or go-karts), and Rueda in the Park (a group dance in Memorial Park). The Director, Ally, has created a warm, friendly atmosphere. I remember once, in my early days at the studio, going out the door after a group lesson when I heard her shout "no one leaves without a hug." I turned around, went back in, and got my hug. Dance Salsa Jax is a nonprofit that rents space at two studios. They teach the most common Latin dances, Salsa (Sunday afternoons in Avondale) and Bachata (Wednesday evenings on Old St. Augustine Rd.). Ally also offers reasonably-priced private lessons. I'm glad I found this place, my home dance studio.

I love how family oriented that they are; their prices are reasonable, and try hard to work with the families who are members. Academy of dance offers so many class options such as vocals, dance, and musical theatre for students to learn new skills. They even have a summer program.

The staff here do an excellent job at keeping the students engaged and teaching them dance; and the importance of discipline that they will hopefully carry over to other parts of their lives.

My 5 year old started in the beginners combo dance class and didn't care for it as much as we all hoped she would. In turn, the studio was very understanding and accommodating. They let her try some different dance and gymnastics classes to see if they'd be a better fit so we didn't have to cancel our membership. My daughter ended up loving Ms. Diana's gymnastics class and has stuck with it for the rest of the season. It's nice to know that the studio is aware of the difference in teaching styles of each of their instructors and is able to suggest which classes may be a better fit for each child depending on their learning styles and personality types!

They said they can only be bought through the parent portal. My friend is the mother of two girls attending the dance studio, and she is even listed as their emergency contact. Now my friend is forced to try to get tickets from the girls father, who will not provide her the tickets she is asking for. I will NEVER support a business that keeps families apart. Shame on you!

Natasha teaches adult ballet, advanced ballet, pointe, variations, & the younger kids. She gives the hardest ballet class I have ever taken! The Adult Ballet Class just loves her! Bryan teaches ballet, & pas de deux. Both have danced professionally. There are many other great teachers. Their hip hop & modern are excellent. They are known for their Russian character dancing. They have a competition dance group. Other dance genres include tap, jazz, acrobatics, & cheer dance. This studio has produced some professional dancers & NFL cheerleaders! You will be impressed by how professionally done & well rehearsed the annual dance recital is! This past June they performed "Excerpts from La Bayadere", & it was breathtaking!

I watched my nephew during his lesson and I found it very entertaining to see how kids can pick up…read moretechniques that I only thought I would see on television. Some kids were funny. Some were serious and others were just there being themselves! Students of all ages were there. Male and female... they had different levels so I felt a person wouldn't feel intimidated or embarrassed for lack of skill. Pretty cool experience in my opinion.
