For a fairly quiet place to study and a decent selection of children's books, this is a nice library to get some homework or research done. My son and I came by here the other day looking for books on missions. I hadn't been to a public library in years and found the customer service to be friendly. The librarian spent quality time helping us find the books we needed. This library has a great selection of magazines and plenty of decent seating as well. We also enjoyed looking through all the movies. There's free wi-fi and few computers that were busy while we were here. There's also a tiny used bookstore here, but it was closed on our recent visit. By the end of our visit here, it started getting pretty loud here. With kids running amuck, we definitely needed to head out soon. We were surprised how loud (even if it was for a brief time) this library could get. This library may be a bit on the older side but had enough resources for us to get some good research done. With a small selection of books, friendly service, and plenty of seating, this is a great place to get some studying or work done!

Too loud! Both staff and patrons. It's Impossible to study! Will have to travel farther to a better library. So frustrating!

I made the mistake of calling to report spam being sent out by Hoopla Digital. The elderly employee who answered the phone assumed what I was calling about and proceeded to deliver a monologue. When she finally paused for breath, I quickly told her why I was calling. She proceeded to deliver another monologue and when I tried to say something she raised her voice to drown me out. This woman has had zero customer service training and she's extremely rude. This employee has no business answering the phone or interacting with patrons. I'm sure she's the same employee others complain about. It tracks. I emailed and phoned the branch manager regarding the phone call I had with her elderly employee. I voiced concern about this employees behavior towards me and the manager had a complete meltdown! She never attempted to apologize for how I was treated on the phone. Her attitude was quite appalling. I was seriously questioning her behavior at this point. What kind of people is the library system hiring? To berate a patron who calls to complain about the unprofessional behavior of a library employee is completely ridiculous! After reading these reviews, I understand my experience wasn't out of the ordinary with this library. This branch managers emailed response was flippant and dismissive. She then declared the matter was closed. (Obey me or else attitude). I responded by informing her I didn't appreciate her tone or the tone of her employee. I reminded her that she was employed to serve library patrons. She had yet another meltdown! Her strange belief that she has every right to harass and bully library patrons was blatantly obvious by her response to me. She actually threatened to revoke my library privileges! WHO DOES THAT??? Her written response to me is so wildly inappropriate as to be quite alarming! I'm not sure how I will proceed but her abuse of her position and the fact that she thinks it's acceptable to harass and bully a patron who complains MUST be addressed. I'm absolutely appalled. I have never seen such unprofessional behavior in a library before. It's clear this library has some major, very alarming issues that need to be addressed. It may well be time to attend a city council meeting.

Photo - https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ladera-ranch-library-ladera-ranch?select=hCjHPbAoDxrILqeAbruIlQ The value to have access to a library; priceless. One of my fondest memories is going to the Hayward public library in the SF Bay area. I would often go with with my mom and sister; don't remember if my brother was with us very much. The ability to go somewhere, check out a book, and take it home for FREE; amazing! Nowadays, you can check out movies, audiobooks, surf the internet, read the daily paper, even check out a laptop. Libraries have come a long way. (However, I do not know if they allow you to take the laptop home.) Some pretty, crazy, cool stuff!... 'And all at no charge! Well, if you return the item late, there is a small, minimal fee but that doesn't really count. I came here in search of a book, "The Four Agreements, "required reading. Why did I come to Ladera Public library? The area is relatively new and wanted to check it out. I wanted to see what the library was like. If you've ever been to the Mission Viejo Library, I was thinking along those lines... 'But it is not. It's a smaller, quaint library. Photo - https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ladera-ranch-library-ladera-ranch?select=cizrpI2g_8rdJlNuvgbzvg Personally, think it's a great idea! However, I could see it being problematic during school hours with people wanting to go to the library creating a parking spectacle. Most notably during pick up/drop off time for the kiddos. Photo - https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ladera-ranch-library-ladera-ranch?select=gUKtYnTi67-CWISONDTK-w So, something about the Orange County public library system, you can apply for the library card online and get a temporary one for 30 days. Within 48 hours you should be contacted by the library you chose to pick up your card, when it's ready. I chose Ladera and within a couple of hours, I was notified my card was ready. Cool. So, that was easy. Went in, gentleman at the desk help me get started, issued my card in and within 30 minutes I was out the door. Took a quick tour around, nice local library. In my opinion, the Mission Viejo library is the pinnacle of libraries in the surrounding area; not part of the OC public library system. Another library that comes to mind as being epic is the Newport Public library near fashion island. That buggah is huge! Yesterday, I revisited the Ladera ranch library to return "The Four Agreements." I continued decided to stroll the library again, in case Imissed anything on my last visit... 'And I did. Lo and behold, there is another section, towards the rear of the library; it leads downstairs to another area. Photo - https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ladera-ranch-library-ladera-ranch?select=G9c2Z64ZLpReprl_Asccbg I believe it's mostly children's books; it's a large, open spacious area with sofas and tables to work on. One of the librarians told me that this area is only accessible after 3 PM. Since the library is attached to an elementary school; this area is used for school functions when school is in session. So far, everyone I've interacted with since I've visited has been courteous and professional. Again, if you visit the library during school hours, parking can be a bear. The librarian told me that a couple of the best options are across the street at the middle school, and/or on the street. (Good to know!) Big Aloha! Once you enter the building you must go upstairs (or take an elevator) to get to the library (otherwise you end up inside the school). This library is one of the smaller branches I've been to and the layout was initially a bit confusing to me. But I soon found the adult non-fiction section and located the specific book I was after. I didn't spot any self-checkout stations so went to the front desk where a pleasant gentleman took care of things and sent me on my way. I'm rarely in this area so doubtful I'll be back and instead will take care of the book's return via the OC Library's sytem where one can return a book to any branch and it will be transported to the correct location.

Its nickname is "Jewel of the Missions" and is one of 21 Spanish missions in California. We purchased tickets ($18/adult) on-site although you can book them online to perhaps get a discount. We got an audio device where we could take an audio tour through the grounds and learn more about each individual aspect of the mission. We even saw the remnants of the stone church that was once the largest structure in California but was destroyed in the 1812 earthquake. While the inhabitants' primary goal was to promote Catholicism, the mission also served as an agricultural and economic center. The founding priests of the mission were told they had to be self-sufficient; when we visited the area there was a garden to grow food and a kitchen area. This mission was even the first one in California to make their own wine. Overall it took us an hour to walk around and explore. We didn't read or listen to everything in-depth but you can easily spend 2-3 hours here. We went early in the morning and there was no one around so it was peaceful exploring the grounds.

I'd give Saddleback College Online website a 3 stars…read more The college itself seems outstanding academically, and they offer the one online class I really need, which is the onlyI reason I stayed enrolled. But honestly, their website experience has been one of the most frustrating college portals I've used. I consider myself very computer savvy. I've successfully handled registration, payments, class enrollment, and online portals with Chaffey College, Fullerton College, Santa Ana College, and even UCLA pre-hospital programs online without major issues. Saddleback's system, however, feels overly complicated and cluttered. I literally made 3calls all while trying to navigate through the clutter. The site constantly times out, and there seem to be glitches between the main portal and Outlook web app. I'd click to view messages and get a "hang on while we sign you out" message instead. Then I'd rush back into MySite before the session expired again. Even something simple like checking my Summer 2026 classes felt unnecessarily difficult. There are too many tabs, locks, checklists, tutorials, and steps all over the homepage. It feels overwhelming instead of user-friendly. I can only imagine how difficult this must be for students who aren't comfortable with technology or for international students navigating the system for the first time. My first experience calling for help back in March was positive, but recently I felt like support would rather have me drive to campus with my laptop instead of explaining things clearly over the phone. That was disappointing. A counselor, literally suggested I drive to campus with my laptop ‍ I really think the website design needs improvement. Simpler navigation and a cleaner layout would make a huge difference because the current setup is unnecessarily confusing for students trying to complete basic tasks online. I really hope that for summer semester all these glitches clear up.
