Dan the Window Man was exceptional! Sheridan, who was on the sales side was very prompt and informative. He was not pushy in trying to upsell me. He ensured I was satisfied with my selection. He kept me informed as we moved through the order and delivery process. For installation, JJ and Josh were very friendly and did an awesome job. They took care to not destroy the old 1950's tile sill as they ripped out the old metal cased windows. They took extra care to make sure everything was clean inside and out. They even laid down protection to protect my new grass. All in all, a very affordable, timely, and pleasant experience. 10/10 will be calling them again when in need. read more

Good local source in Applewood, Lakewood and Wheat Ridge. Dan has been serving the area for more that 25 years.

We have used Dan several times for window installations over the years. He is reliable and trust worthy, also his workers do professional installations. I highly recommend this small business. read more

Dan does high quality window replacement and we've used him several times over the years. An installer and trusted partner that has stuck around in the industry. This is important and versus the big name window outfits, Dan is a self-employed small business owner, and we've realized that is reflected in his quality product AND reasonable prices. Thanks for showing up and doing what you said you would do Dan! read more

My advisors suggested I write this review because I've spent dozens of hours trying to fix Window Dan's botched job. Communication was very difficult with this company, both in person and digitally. They did a lot of damage to my house, all of which could have been avoided. I had to paint a lot of walls and still need to replace ruined carpet. I still have to finish staining many of the windows and trim. They ordered the replacement windows in weird sizes so I now have to track which screen goes to which window or they won't all fit - previously all the windows were the same size. We had a conflict because Dan either intentionally or mistakenly changed a window configuration without telling me until I noticed it wasn't like the old window. They did not tell me about the carpet damage even though I was at home at the time - They scrubbed a big bleached zone around the stain and just left for the day. Initially I felt sorry for these guys and wanted to give them 4-5 stars, but my perspective changed by the end of the job, a month after they started, when Dan told me he could not get anyone to hang any of the interior trim so he just dropped it all off. The price was adjusted but nonetheless I'm stuck with staining the trim and windows, and cutting and nailing 300 feet of trim. I would not recommend this company if you have more than a couple windows or if you are buying higher end windows. Pictures of the damage are posted in my Google review if you're curious. read more

Dan replaced all of our windows and sliding glass door 15+ years ago and all still working great. One small piece of interior trim came out recently and Dan stopped by to fix it within a few days. While he was at it, he fixed my front screen door that had been installed by someone else. I was blown away that he would take care of such a small job for me and he remembered me after many years. Thanks, Dan! read more

Extremely bad job installing windows and a door. I regret using this business. Dan did not supervise the jobs and will not follow up to correct damages or unfinished work. read more

Not even 10 years after Dan put my windows in I have called another company to replace them. Thank you for you Crappy Advise Dan.

Seems to be a nice guy, installers are amazing. HATE my eight casement/picture windows. I was replacing twenty year old windows so the quality was for sure an upgrade, however I wish that I never would have replaced them at this point. I spent a lot of time with Dan trying to understand what window inserts would look like. Dan met me at my house with examples and I then followed up with a visit to their showroom. Never was it explained to me the bulk that these inserts would have. I was shocked upon install to see what they looked like. To the point where their installers had just a couple windows in when I called Dan's office to express my concerns about the bulk, loss of glass space, and cranks that float mid frame. I was told he would stop by soon. He came by after all were installed and after expressing my displeasure to him I was told I would have to get used to them and that they would be considered streamlined in Europe. After a few days and my hatred of them growing and feeling sick for the $6000 I had paid, I set up a new meeting at my house to discuss the situation. At that point I had come to the realization that I had lost about 12 square inches of glass per window! 4" top to bottom and 3" side to side. This was shocking to me that it was never mentioned during the meetings prior to ordering. I live in a town home and am connected on three sides of my house. These windows are the only view and natural light I get aside from a skylight and they had just shrunk by 12" each window. When Dan came out again, I had to take him to my neighbors houses to show him the original measurements and confirm the amount of glass that I had lost. He then told me that if I had full window replacement I would regain that glass space and the bulk would be reduced. That would have been good to know prior to purchase and install I would think. After he mentioned he would be giving me a break on a reorder I asked him to give me a quote for full window replacement cause I hated my inserts so much. Before leaving however he made a comment that being in town homes it would be easy for ME to resell my unwanted windows while also mentioning a $20,000+ install he was working on up north, which was beyond irritating because here he was seemingly making me the one who ate costs on this $6,000 project. Later that day I sent a letter to document my extreme displeasure in my windows and realization that I was now expected to carry the cost of new ones and sell the old ones myself. I was told not to worry and to wait for the new bid and to also expect a break from him on install to whoever I might be able to sell my windows to. I soon received a bid of $9000 to replace my $6000 despised inserts. Meanwhile, even though I'm not a window contractor who would have access to people who might be in need of windows, I myself contacted people in my neighborhood about them getting reduced priced window inserts with no responses. During this time the second half of my payment for my inserts were due and after paying in full Dan went silent. I emailed about warranty transfer to make sure that was the case to sweeten the deal for others and never got a response. I have never heard from him again. At this point I wish I would have kept my twenty year old windows. I get sick whenever I think of this whole experience and wish-wash back and forth on just taking them out and attempting to install my own self ordered windows and trying to sell the inserts online. If there had been more of an attempt to work with me on costs and overall with this issue Dan would have come out ahead given that I had three separate home owner approach me about recommends on window install after. Certainly would not recommend him however. I do have a vinyl slider window that was installed in the basement which I am happy with. read more

Dan and his crew installed 6 window, in my townhome, last Fall, as well as a garden window. The price was reasonable and I've been nothing but happy with all the work! They were prompt, quick, cleaned up, and provided excellent customer service. I noticed a big difference in my home's temperature, over the winter and I'm expecting to find the same this coming Summer. I've referred him to friends with confidence and would recommend him to anyone! read more

My house is 51 years old and I needed 2 original windows replaced. I reached out to Dan and he actually came by the next day to take a look and sent me an estimate the day after that. He was super friendly and great to work with. His crew that installed the windows were great too. They showed up when they said they would, perfectly installed the windows and completely cleaned up afterwards. The windows look great and came with a lifetime warranty. Two thumbs up! read more

I have to agree with Jason R's review below. I scheduled a meeting with Dan through his assistant. I then got a message on Yelp 2 days before the appointment that just said 'Call me' and his phone number. No other information. So I called and left a message that I scheduled an appointment and was wondering if that still worked, asking him to call me back. I didn't hear back from him. He still came at the scheduled time, but I wasn't sure if that was still on. Dan came early and gave me some options to choose from, some pricing details, and generally was very knowledgeable and seemed fair. I told him I wanted to do the downstairs windows for sure, but may have to wait to do the upstairs one. After he gave me the quote (which he said was all inclusive, including when I verified if I only did the downstairs ones, the final price would be $xx), he said he would look at the cost of doing single hung windows in the bedroom and additional options. The next day I got an email saying that it would be more expensive than the original quote if I split the install to upstairs and downstairs (which was an addition to getting the permits), but if I scheduled all the work at once, he'd spread the payments over 60 days. Since then, I sent him 3 or 4 emails asking the same questions in order to get clarity, get pictures as required for the HOA, and to schedule a time. This was over a week and a half ago since the first message. I'm sure they probably do great work, and Dan seems like a nice guy, but to not respond to your customers at all, and to remember additional costs after specific questions regarding those costs were asked about and you said everything was all inclusive aside from permits, it doesn't inspire confidence in customers. Dan is incredibly knowledgeable and has great insight, but I cannot recommend a business that makes me feel like an inconvenience more than a customer. read more

This was one of the most bizarre professional interactions I've ever encountered. I contacted Dan back in 2014 about replacing all the windows on a rental property I have. I eventually decided against replacing the windows at that time but kept Dan in mind for future work. In August of 2016 I contacted Dan again to get an updated quote and have the windows replaced and he gave me the same price as from 2014. It seems my faith in Dan was not misplaced. I put down the deposit and go over to his shop to pick out the color. And then the saga of scheduling the windows starts. On August 30 I'm told 2 +/- weeks and will get a call after Labor Day scheduling them. Don't get a call. I have to reach out and e-mail on Sept. 7th. At this time I also request a quote from Dan on replacing the exterior doors in the units. I get a response from Joanne, Dan's administrative person, that the windows will be in the week of the 19th. Here's the record from there: On Sept. 16 at 4:05 PM I sent an e-mail. No response. On Sept. 21 at 6:28 PM I leave a voicemail asking for an update. On Sept. 22 at 4:30 PM I leave another voicemail. On Sept. 22 at 6:22 PM I sent an e-mail. Again, no response. On Sept 23 at 11:11 AM I leave another voicemail. At this point I've decided on Monday I'm going to have to write the whole experience off, try to get the deposit back, try and find another window person. A few hours later I call again at 2:19 PM and Joanne finally picks up the phone. I express that I was getting worried and that my e-mails and phone calls weren't being returned. Instead of just apologizing and scheduling the installation I get told "Don't worry kid." While I appreciate the nod to me not looking like an old man I'm a 37 year old man and don't appreciate being talked to like I'm Opie Taylor. I'm also assured that Joanne not only called me back but also spoke with me earlier in the week. She didn't. I have phone records. I checked the phone records. She does schedule my installation for Oct. 4-7. Sept. 28th I receive instructions on how to prepare the windows which includes telling me to take down the blinds that are up or they'll be an additional charge. I questioned this because I remember specifically asking Dan about the blinds when he was measuring the property. Taking the blinds down is not going to happen since I am leaving town from the 29th until the 4th. I mention how poor communication has been with them. Again, instead of simply apologizing for not calling me back and e-mailing me back I am just told that I'm wrong. Joanne says she's responded to every e-mail and phone call. Apparently I'm just crazy and can't read my e-mail and phone records correctly. She does apologize for me "feeling" like they haven't been great at communicating. So I reply to Joanne with: I am normally very easy going and understanding. Even now I realize that miscommunications happen and things do slip through the cracks and Dan in all my interactions like an upstanding guy. So I'm not making accusations or trying to work a discount or some nonsense like that. I'm just justifiably a little annoyed at the way things have gone down since I put in the deposit money but not so much that everybody can't come out happy in the end. And then I list the calls and emails like I did above. I even give her some outs by saying things happen, etc. And like some Kafka story I don't get a response. My e-mail is completely ignored. Will I be charged more for the blinds? Will the installers actually show up? Will Joanne claim we've talked on the phone despite me spending the weekend on an island with no cellphone service? So I get to think about that all the time I'm out of town. I come back on the 4th to half the windows put in. The next day I talk to the workers. Super friendly and nice. They do a great job. The windows look fantastic. They have pulled the blinds down with no problems. Everything is great which is somewhat infuriating in and of itself because this would be a five star review and I'd have a great windows person to recommend to people if it weren't for their administrative staff. Just tons of unnecessary headache and worry for absolutely no reason. Tons of uncalled for condescension and rudeness. And I still haven't heard back from Dan on replacing the exterior doors. read more

As new homeowners of an old house, my husband and I were in the market to update our rickety basement windows. We called three window installation companies in the Denver Metro area last winter to receive a bid. One company told me the job was too small for him to make a profit. The second company never returned our call. Fortunately, Dan the Window Man's company not only responded promptly to our request, but Dan was able to come out within a day to give us a good/better/best estimate on basement window types. He didn't pressure us to go with his company but made clear that if we went with them, his business would do its utmost to complete the project quickly, efficiently, and for a reasonable price. Dan the Window Man was good for his word. We ordered the windows and scheduled the installation a couple of months later, and his installers arrived on time, removed our old windows and installed our news ones within the time frame agreed upon, and managed to be courteous and friendly throughout the process. I have already recommended this business to friends in the market for window installation. Thank you so much for your excellent customer service and integrity as a business, Dan the Window Man! read more

We had Dan's crew install 8 windows and a sliding door over the last two days and could not be happier with them! The crew was friendly and efficient and made sure everything was in order for us. Dan has great prices and I appreciated that he gave us quotes for all brands not just one. The home is so much cooler and quieter now! Definitely worth the investment. read more

Recommended Dan to a family member. No communication and he totally dropped the ball. Not happy at all.

If I could give Dan 10 stars I totally would. From running out in a snowstorm to measure my windows about an hour after I called him, to his super nice, professional and efficient crew...our whole window replacement experience was a pleasure. Dan suggested several ways that we could cut costs, and also came up with a brilliant way to best fit an awkward space. We are so happy with the results, they really changed our home for the better, and I know we will definitely recoup the costs when we resell someday. I highly recommend Dan The Window Man! read more

Dan the Window Man is a great option for windows and doors!! I live nearly 2 hours away and he was very accommodating to come to my place to measure and install a slider and four windows. Not only do they look great but I can already tell a difference inside. Dan was very easy to communicate with and he was very accommodating to my schedule. The crew who helped him were funny, efficient and did an outstanding job. I highly recommend Dan the Window Man and will give his name to everyone I know looking for windows/Doors. Excellent workmanship. Excellent service. Prompt and honest estimate. We could not be more pleased with our windows.

Dan and his crew installed a new Anlin Malibu patio door for us, replacing a leaky old exterior wood door. The team was responsive and professional, and stayed engaged until the project was completed to our full satisfaction. The door and installation look wonderful, it operates smoothly, and the thermal / acoustic transmission performance of that elevation has improved dramatically. read more

Somehow the window in my daughter's room broke. Only her window, no other windows which meant that most window replacement places either refused to serve us or gave us a $1600 for 1 window (champion windows-winning, if winning means ripping you off). I've never been so grateful as I was to Dan and his son for installing a new and safe window in my daughters room. They were timely, courteous, and less than 1/3 of what the other guys (Champion) wanted me to pay. We will is Dan the Window Man for all furniture windows, repairs, and really anything they'll do. read more

I cannot tell you how disappointed I was with this company, Dan the Window Man. I wanted to work with a small business and selected Dan to provide and install 3 bedroom windows. The problem was the 2 men he chose to do the installation. I do not believe they were employed by Dan, but laborers, nor were they qualified or experienced to do the work. They both were very dirty, smelled like they had been drinking and did a horrible job with the fit and caulking on the windows. (Every one of them look terrible!) I called the man in the office and he sent Dan out the next day. Dan tried to wipe caulk off and fix things a bit, but overall it was still terrible. Dan cared less that I was unhappy with the result of the work. He did not offer any other solution to make the windows look better and did not offer any discount for my dissatisfaction. I will never ever use this company again and I have a whole house of windows to install. Run from this company! read more

I had Dan the Window Man give us a bid for our Victorian house in the Highlands neighborhood. Some of windows dated back to 1895 with the original wavy glass! I really liked that Dan gave us a good-better-best quote so we could choose the quality and price that worked for us. His prices were clearly better than any of our other bids. The installation was flawless and very professional. We LOVE our new windows. And one benefit we didn't even realize is how quiet the house is now without all the street noise! I am already seeing a drop in our utility bills. Great company, trustworthy and professional businessman, unbeatable prices. Two thumbs up! Window Dan, We saw your van in our neighborhood. We let a VM about installing a front door. No one ever called us back and when I called again after 4 days you said in order of excuse 1) we were on your list to call back but you were too overwhelmed and 2) you didn't recognize a 646 area code so you thought it was a marketing call 3) you are overwhelmed...my recommendation is if you are too overwhelmed and swamped in business 1) hire someone to phone your potential customers and let the know you are several months out 2) don't assume any area code indicates a solicitor because CO in full of transplants using their original cell phones. You lost some good customers who have a list of referrals in their neighborhood and have 2 doors to replace themselves. read more

Originally had the plan to replace two windows but had two others measured just in case. When the guys came to fit the windows we found that one of the windows supplied was not for the window I'd specified. Dan took full responsibility for the error, arranged for the correct window to be made and offered to replace the erroneous window for free. After a slight delay due to extremely cold weather, we had the three new windows replaced. The team who replaced the windows (Butch & Walter) did an amazing job: quiet, quick and clean. They even put up with two dogs following them around all morning. We have construction currently going on behind the house, so the improvement in sound insulation was evident immediately. Great work at a good price. read more

I recommend the company "Dan the Window Man" that I used to install my basement windows. While below freezing weather delayed the job a week, once they were able to begin, the crew was great. We just moved into a new old house at the start of the summer, and none of the five windows on the first floor opened more than a crack. (During those 100 degree days, it was unbearable to say the least!) Most of the windows in the basement were in terrible shape, and the trim throughout needed replacing. Dan and Sheridan worked closely with us to discuss all of our options, our aesthetic preferences, financial capacity, and timeline. They were great about communicating with us every step of the way via email and phone. Their team (Hector and his guys) were diligent, skilled, creative, open, and friendly! More than anything, they ALL seemed to really care about our family loving the final product, checking in sincerely and repeatedly. Also, can I just say, they transformed the look of our kitchen, recommending that we replace two old crusty side-by-side windows with one big sliding picture window, which not only makes a HUGE difference in the amount of sunlight we now get and the overall look of the room but also saved us money (paying for 1 window vs 2). Thank you so much, Dan and Sheridan - you've been such a pleasure to work with and real class acts in the biz!!! read more

We had Dan and his crew put in a bay, a garden, and a simple slider window in our home last month, and we are thrilled with the work they did. He went over all the options on his first visit and we ended up with just what we wanted. He specializes in windows and knows the product lines inside and out, which was a refreshing change from the company (bigger, but not better!) we had just dealt with, who installed a bay that was the wrong size and wrong materials. My wife and I needed to replace five old, creaky windows in our new town home. We contacted a few installers we found on Yelp. One wanted to repair the old windows. And the other came in at a price significantly higher than Dan. After meeting with Dan the Window Man himself--we decided to go with them. Butch & Walter (the actually installers) did excellent work. It was a difficult job as they really had to tear the old windows out. Their work was clean and prompt. And they were really nice, solid guys--a very good representation of the company. They even helped me put back in the brackets for our blinds after. We noticed there were a few tiny tears in one of the new screens. This happens sometimes during shipment. They put in the order for us and we had a replacement screen within a short time. We are thoroughly enjoying our new windows and even referred them to our neighbor who then also used their services. Would definitely recommend! read more

We had Dan the Window Man install a big beautiful picture window overlooking our backyard this past summer. It involved cutting out larger hole in the wall. His crew did a phenomenal job both on the outside and inside of the house. going above and beyond to make sure it was perfect. The window looks beautiful, and we don't regret spending the money. By the way, Dan's price was less than half of what Windows by Anderson wanted to charge. We wouldn't have had the work done if it weren't for Dan, as lots of companies have a minimum number of windows they'll do. You can't go wrong going with Dan! read more
