Next thing I know I was there for the procedure. Did'nt even know it was done....the worst part was the preparation...taking this gallon of Colyte. I was so glad I took this test. It saved my life. They found a large polyp that was removed during the process., that proved to be cancerous. I had beaten the odds. Had I procrastinate for another year I would not be here yelping. Thanks to Dr. Cintron and his staff. His secretary Carmen is a very efficient assistant. Their office is conveniently located in Grand St. The # 58 bus stops there. They call him Dr. Vitale but he is not a doctor. Every single time I come (which I try only if I absolutely have to) there's a long wait. If I need medical papers or any kind of documentation from them they take FOREVER. I did blood work Saturday morning, yesterday someone from their office said they'd have my paperwork ready by the evening, it is now the evening of the following day and they are now telling me they don't even have the blood work. It is absolutely impossible to do things on a timeline with this office. I've also been prescribed medication I don't even need nor asked for (only finding this out after it's been called into my pharmacy already)....another way to get my money though that's for sure. This place is not professional at all. I don't recommend them unless you wanna sit for over an hour for your appointment or never get your medical documents taken care. When calling to speak to the office manager about my blood work she rudely yelled at me over the phone and told me that I was going to listen to her "one time and one time only." You DO NOT treat people like this at all. I will never be going there ever again. Her name is Millie! She is absolutely disrespectful and shows no compassion for the patients there. UPDATED: I went through with letting the Medical Board of NY know that they violated my rights and the PA, Mr. Vitale is now calling my parents home and causing stress within my family.

I made an appointment for 2:45. I'm traveling today and decided to move my travel time to after my visit since this is quite urgent. It took me an hour to get there and and hour to get back..only for them to tell me something other than what was spoken over the phone. Ik I have a $40 or $25 co pay. Unfortunately, my time was wasted as I refused to see the clinician once they mentioned an additional fee because they are unable to confirm my total payment-something about the system not showing them and they were unable to call my insurance since it's a weekend, i have a "commercial insurance" and so on. All I wish was that all of this was communicated on the initial call, so I wouldn't have wasted my time commuting all the way over here when I could've been omw to my travel and figure out how to hold on until I get a hold of my doctor...

I'd like to point out that the staff were amazing, really friendly and inquisitive. My issue is with Dr. Igal Khorshidi, I went in for a consultation and the doctor was the rudest and most impatient doctors I've ever interacted with. I explained that I was a bit embarrassed about my visit and he said "you're joking right? I've heard it all" with a really smug tone, it wasn't in a friendly joking manner that would put anyone at easy, he lacked empathy which is crucial with someone who's in the medical field. The consultation lasted less than 4 minutes, which he rushed me through, he even did a circle motion with his hands as to hurry me up, I felt so uncomfortable that l couldn't tell him my reasons for the consultation. He might be a doctor and have the credentials but he is not a good person, is impatient and seems like he has a short temper. If you're desperate and think "well I got an appointment fast, this is great" don't even bother this doctor is not there to help, just collect a check.

Extremely unprofessional and ineffective communication with patients. When first scheduling an…read moreappointment with this office, I emphasized that I have 2 insurances, both a primary and secondary. I asked if the office accepts both my insurances, and they reassured me that they did via phone call. Thus, I scheduled an appointment. The appointment itself was disappointing. Firstly, the attending PA never formally introduced himself to me. He also never directly asked me what my health concerns were. He simply asked me basic medical history questions, which led me to believe he was an MA. Once I realized he was the PA, I expressed my concerns and reasons for my visit. (I also never met with Dr. Igal in either of my visits, which was never communicated.) My first visit was on a Saturday, in which I provided both my insurance cards for verification. A few days later, on a weekday, the office called me and stated that they did NOT accept my primary insurance, but rather only my secondary insurance. I expressed that this would be an issue, as my secondary insurance requires that I visit in-network offices for my primary insurance. The office insisted that because they accepted my secondary insurance, I would have no issue with my primary insurance/billing. In addition, the receptionist stated that they were NOT able to verify even my secondary insurance. They claimed that my secondary insurance appeared to be invalid. I knew this was certainly incorrect, as I was utilizing my secondary insurance in other offices. Turns out, they were entering my incorrect birth date. Then, Maria, the office manager, insisted that I come in for a follow-up appointment despite this insurance confusion. Thus, I came in for a follow-up appointment and asked to speak with Maria upon arrival. Maria and the PA both met with me. Maria insisted that my secondary insurance would cover my visits at this office, despite my primary insurance not being accepted at this office. I expressed that I did NOT believe this to be correct. Maria insisted that I would NOT receive any bill from this office. I even asked her if I could get this statement in writing, to which she replied, "I've never written a letter like that, but, believe me, if you get a bill from us, you can personally come yell at me." Well, I received a bill after all. I called the office to dispute this bill. Maria called me back, and said she was going to follow up regarding whether my secondary insurance was billed or not. She specially stated, "It seems this is a copay, but I don't believe your secondary insurance was billed. The lab is supposed to call me around 11 am tomorrow and I will confirm if they billed your secondary insurance or not." I never heard from her again. I had to email the office multiple times to even get a response. I even specifically asked the receptionist when calling regarding this matter, whether I should be contacting their office or the lab regarding this lab dispute. The receptionist told me to email their office, which I did. This entire experience has been extremely unpleasant and inconvenient. Avoid this office.

My mother has worked for doctor's for 40 years, so my bar is pretty high seeing my pseudo moms were medical secretaries. The medical assistant was very sweet and helpful. She was patient and I never felt rushed even though I was the last patient of the day. My appt was at 12:15 and my procedure was finished at 2:20. The anesthesiologist asked me many questions to get an idea of my previous medical history with anesthesia. He was also very kind and sensitive to my emotions and very patient. Dr. Paddu was SO KIND. I felt so comfortable talking to him and when I told him what had brought me to his office he wanted to see the other tests my pc doc had run. I only came to him for a one time check up, get a diagnosis and thought that would be it. But he was actually concerned! Not in a life-threatening way, but in a "that sounds odd and I would like to look at those test results, too". I definitely would recommend him to anyone needing a gastroenterologist. The entire office displayed an amazing bedside manner that should be shared among the medical community. I took a star off for my apt being an hour late AND the paper work sent to me (from the organization that set up the appt) said to arrive 30 minutes early. Since this was a weekend and the 7 train isn't running from Manhattan to Queensboro Plaza there was a lot of rerouting. It was easy though and the rerouting will end soon. I arrived 40 minutes early to my appt, that ended up being an hour behind schedule. After not eating for over 30 hours, I was bit stressed to say the least. I was given very sincere apologies for making me wait by each staff member as I was passed down the line (which was very efficient and no waiting at all!) and I was so happy to be seen I got over it really quick.

RUDE, BOSSY, INCONSIDERATE SUPPORT STAFF AND PSYCHO DOCTOR…read moreFind another gastrointestinologist. After my first colonoscopy, two staffers woke me up and immediately started telling me, "Sit up! Stand up! Get up! Walk!", etc. - AFTER I HAD JUST WOKEN UP FROM A GENERAL ANESTHESIA! I mentioned it to the staff and to Dr. Wang before my next procedure, and had another colonoscopy and an endoscopy which were fine. But it was back to the same old song & dance for my most recent endoscopy. I even reminded Dr. Wang before the procedure about this problem in order to avoid a repetition, but it was no use. Another staffer did this to me as I was coming out of anesthesia. After the procedure, I complained to the desk staff, and got treated like I was the one who did something wrong! Dr. Wang himself came out and TACKLED me as I was waiting for the bathroom! Yes, PHYSICALLY grabbed me, roughed me up, accused ME of being abusive, and threatened to call the police on me! All this for the "crime" of asking to be treated with a little respect. If you've never had a colonoscopy or endoscopy before, let me tell you it is not a pleasant experience. The day prior to and morning of a colonoscopy you have to drink this solution that makes you poop out everything inside of you, and comes out of you in a liquid form. So you're on the throne about every 30 minutes. The day of the procedures, you have to fast all day (AND the day before for a colonoscopy) and aren't allowed to drink ANYTHING - even WATER. On top of that, I'm 57. These gals who did this to me were definitely younger than me. So much for the sacred, ancient Oriental custom of treating your elders with respect. Given the discomfort of the prep and the procedure itself, you'd think they could do a little more to make patients comfortable and make an unpleasant experience as painless as possible for their patients. Well, think again. They're more concerned with clearing out the OR for the next patient. I can understand the need to stay on a schedule, but this is overkill. I'd rather face a long waiting period if it means that during and after my procedure I can be treated with a modicum of respect and consideration.
