He made himself available throughout the day (and night) via phone, text or email, answering every question I had, and accompanying me to tour properties during the months before making my first offer on a condo in Harvard Square. On that occasion, we unfortunately got outbid despite having made a strong offer, although understandably as there were eight other parties bidding simultaneously, as we learnt at the time. And well, it all worked out for the best because shortly after, John negotiated what turned out to be a superb deal on a 2-bedroom condo that was not even on the market and off-MLS, therefore allowing us to bypass any competing buyers and bidding wars. So, after months of expert coaching, advising, strenuous search and property showings, we had an accepted offer! Let's be clear, no path to success is ever smooth or easy, and the process of buying a property isn't any different. In fact, on a different note, the loan officer I chose and his team at Bank of America who miscalculated my DTI, had to restructure the loan at the last minute, which essentially meant a larger down payment to bring to closing, but I guess this will be a story to tell on a different review. Thankfully though, at my side there was John who is a problem-solving machine and I lost count of how many times he saved the day. We stumbled upon him when we were first started looking for a house without any real expectations of purchasing anytime soon. Having previously purchased a house, but not having sold one he took time to come visit our house and walk us through the processes of buying and selling simultaneously. Once we had our hearts set on a place, previously listed but taken off market, Chris worked diligently to get us in to see it multiple times, while dealing with all of our questions and concerns. He simultaneously juggled less than stellar sellers and sellers agent. Chris' transparency and communication skills were fabulous and we truly appreciated them during the buying and selling processes. With the housing supply in Brookline being so tight - Eric would alert us as soon as a property that fit our needs came onto the market (or even a bit before) and had the connections with other local realtors to get us in before the open house.
