We first had to rush our cat…read moreIfrit to their 24 hour service a few months ago and were so kind and understanding when I explained my situation (not only a poor student but a poor disabled student relying on public transport) and let me work out first bus I could get to get Ifrit seen ASAP. Recently had to return to Manor Vets Edgbaston as it appears Ifrit has cystitis again and they're currently processing his urine samples today - a rush to make sure no underlying problems! By phone they are incredibly kind and patient, very understanding, and gave me numbers for the Cats Protection and Friends of the Animals for badly needed help with the cost of vets consultation and neutering fee for which I am incredibly grateful for. Some vets can be quite snobby and look down on lower-income people, but this recently refurbished state of the art veterinary practice is far from snobby. Treats were provided for the furry patients which helped Ifrit relax in the waiting room, and everyone there was definitely a pet person, creating a calming, warm, welcoming atmosphere. They've also given brilliant advice on foods that help his condition and it is little touches like that make me so grateful we chose Manor Vets.

We travel around the country a lot and it's important that the history is kept up to date but I never got a phone call from the previous vet to authorise the release of information. When I arrived for the appointment I queried this and was repeatedly told that I had to ring the other vets (rubbish). I got her to contact them and within five minutes got the phone call, without any apology from the receptionist sitting in front of me I might add. So, three months later I am registered at another vets and Colebrook send the medical history to the new vets and it only contains their history and none of the previous that had been sent to them. They are very sloppy with medical records and I had already read bad things about this vet but chose to ignore it because it was for nothing more that flea and worm treatment. Never again!!

For the area I would class this as a mid priced vets, you can get a cheaper vets a few miles away and similarly you will find more expensive vets close by. I personally recommend having a look around for vets and trying to choose one you are happy with rather than the cheapest, however you may find that the cheapest is the best anyway! Regrettably my experience of Willows is not a positive one. My dog was referred from another…read moreLinnaeus Group practice for TPLO surgery. We had already paid almost £1000 to the referring practice just for a diagnosis - no benefit to the dog - and were quoted by Willows a fixed fee of £4750 for the TPLO, significantly more expensive than elsewhere, but we believed we were doing the best for our dog. Although the surgery was successful, without complications, the 'fixed fee' proved to be anything but and we were charged several hundred pounds more for a simple follow up lasting 7 minutes. A complaint to Willows was dismissed and an appeal to the mediation service (suggested by Willows) was entirely futile. I escalated my complaint to the Linnaeus Group who have not yet responded, but in the meantime I have received DAILY texts and emails from Willows demanding payment despite them being told that I have escalated the issue. They may be good vets but if you choose to use them I suggest that you record every conversation you have with them.

We had to go this week with our much loved elderly bad tempered old cat. we were thinking it was the end of the line for her as she had become very ill. Not the easiest cat to treat she spits and growls like a champion, however undeterred they worked their magic on her. I can not thank them enough for today and the many years we have put our pets into their hands and the results have always been good. They even asked me if she had done it before she came in (despite them checking her eyes on arrival). I asked the practice manager to call me but heard nothing from them. In a situation as serious as this I only think it is right to advise of our experience as I would never trust them to look after my puppy or any pet indeed after my dreadful experience.

He is willing to spend some time checking the dog over offering advise and answering any questions I have. He also told me never to cut my dogs nails which is something the groomer used to do because they are black it is hard to see where they stop and advised me to go for walks on pavements a bit more than going straight to the park. I have to say my husband and I were gutted as they were a husband and wife team who offered a truly personal service. I had been trying various practices to see if any matched up to those high standards. It's almost impossible to find unique pracices anymore, but for me White Cross is as close as it gets. We have had cause to visit them a great deal with our cat and every time we have received lovely service. The nurses at reception are helpful and always ready for a chat. The vets are knowledgable and caring and the prices are decent in my view. Unfortunately we lost our cat ultimately but they dealt with this with great sensitivity too and when we're ready for a new pet I'll have no hesitation in using them again.

We have a very highly strung cat and have tried all sorts of different treatments to help calm him, but sadly to no avail. On our visit today, on route we phoned to inform of a slight delay,( Due to afore mentioned reason,) which, as it turned out would not have been a problem. We noticed the patient before our appointment left a good while after we checked in. We were informed that we would have to go to the back of the queue as a matter of protocol. No problem if there had been someone else being seen.(Which was not the case.) When we asked in a polite manner, the receptionist, was quite rude in her reply.

My cat is very dear to me and no, I don't have munchausen by proxy, but I do get a bit worried there is something wrong with her when usually everything is a-ok. This is the vet my family and I have always used since we moved to Birmingham. They really do care about your pet when you bring them in and as it is a very stressful experience for your feline friend they try their best to calm them down once on the vets table. They're always very helpful and instead of giving you a list of about 100 costly things your pet needs they tell you what is essential and what you could do without. Turns out even the essential things can cost a bomb though. My favourite thing about this place is that when your turn is up they call your pet's name. 'Is there a Fluffy Smith waiting?' for example.

I've visited this branch in Moseley a few times, and go to Church Road Yardley quite often. Vet fees are usually quite high but here they are reasonable (and it's worth it for peace of mind) I highly recommend.
