My husband and I travelled to Seville from albufeira, Portugal on Wednesday 27th September. On arrival in Seville we booked our return tickets for Saturday 30th September at 07.30hours. We arrived at the bus station at06.55 to wait for the bus departing from stand 12/13. There was no bus with a sign saying anywhere to Portugal, and there was no one to ask.
There were also 2 other couples waiting to return to Tavira. One of these ladies asked a drive in stand 13, if that was the bus and he said no. This bus had sign "Sevilha Huelva" on the front. At 07.45 myself and another lady went to the information desk to ask about our bus .She told us to go to the DAMAS desk. When we got there the lady told us "bus had gone, and the tickets we had were finito, no good"" We tried to explain to her that we had all been waiting since 07.00hours at stand 12/13 for the bus and we saw no sign of it. She eventually told us that we would have to purchase more tickets for the bus later that day at 16.15hours. This we did, ourselves at a cost of €40, and the others at over €150.
After having to wait around then all day until 16.15, this was not a very pleasant end to a lovely stay in Seville.
We all feel aggrieved that we should have had to pay again for tickets which had already been purchased. We also feel that there should have been someone around at 07.00hours to explain to passengers who do not understand the language, which bus they need to travel on, so that this unfortunate episode does not happen again.
The EVA bus that left at 16.15, arrived in Seville at around13.00hours, and when the driver left for a break, he put a sign in the window, stating Lagos, Portimao, Albufeira, Faro, Tavira etc. We also asked him if that bus was going to Portugal, so we knew it was the correct return bus. Why didn't the DAMAS bus do the same??? That way 6 passengers would NOT have missed the 07.30 bus to Portugal.
Hope to receive a reply from you.
