Extremely disappointing experience with JP Flooring. Run, Don't Walk Away…read more We hired them to extend and match our existing hardwood floors but were only shown a small handful of prefinished options that did not truly match. After installation, we later learned there were many post-finished/custom options available that should have been discussed from the beginning. Unfortunately, the installation quality was also very poor: * Damaged boards * Incorrect cuts * Damage to our original threshold board * Incomplete trim work around the fireplace * Uneven floor boards * Poor communication throughout the process We even paid for furniture moving, yet only one installer initially arrived, and I ended up helping move heavy furniture myself while recovering from triceps surgery. To JP Flooring's credit, the inspector they later sent acknowledged many of the problems. However, even the written repair summary initially left off one of the biggest unfinished items until we called it out ourselves. There are also uneven areas in the floor, and even JP Flooring's own reviewer stated they "may" settle over time because the baffles do not always line up properly, not exactly reassuring for a newly installed hardwood floor. At this point, we are still trying to get the situation corrected properly. Very frustrating experience overall, especially given the cost and expectations associated with professional hardwood flooring work.

The quality of the flooring is very poor which is a builder issue which I have spent way too much time trying to resolve with Fischer Homes without success. But the installation is the responsibility of McSwain. Some of the immediate issues with the installation in late 2017 and early 2018 were addressed with minimal satisfaction. It seemed the best I was going to get even after much effort. However, there was a large area of flooring that was reinstalled after the closing because workers had deeply scratched the front hallway when they removed construction materials from the house just before closing. The area was about 28' long and from 4' to 1' wide. I questioned the method of installation at the time because it did not match the installation instructions that came with the boxes of material. McSwain assured me that it would not be a problem. Spaces began to appear between the strips about a year ago and have gradually increased so that the area of the hallway flooring 4' wide and 10' wide starting at my front door is unsightly. I contacted McSwain in early November 2021, I was told that I would hear back from the Contractor Manager soon. Repeated attempts to get any response from that Manager have had 0 results. I finally ordered a somewhat satisfactory 4' x 10' area rug to cover the entire unsightly mess. I am not sure what I will do if I decide to sell my home, but as of January 18, 2022 It seems I have little hope of getting any help from McSwain. I do not recommend using this business. I have photos which I sent to McSwain. I do not see a way to share them here.

Being the only customer in the store when I got there, he helped me til a couple came in and he found out I was interested in the sale carpet and wanted pricing for install, pad etc. Then, he just walked away!! It was unbelievably obvious and rude! I realize there was a possibility of making more money with flooring that maybe wasn't closeout. We had the Shaw Luxury Vinyl Floating Floor installed in the kitchen on 07/08/2016. We were billed for the sub-contractors to take up the fist layer of linoleum. Which they did not do! The sub-contractors would bring in one box of the tile at a time. In the end, they took off with all of the unused tile without leaving it with us. Let alone laid down tile that had imperfections. Which could've been replaced with the tile they left with. We paid for it! To top it off, two installers came. One did all of the work, while the other guy just stood around watching him. He wasn't going to do anything, because he was quitting the next day. Be forewarn that you don't know if your sub-contractors are going to do the right thing. No one from Harry's will come and inspect their work to make sure it is to your satisfaction. I will never do busy with Harry's Corner again or recommend them!

I had a quote for new carpet for the basement from Lowe's. Harry's was about $400 more, but after talking to the sales team (Rick - who wasn't impressive and an older gentleman who was a focused sales pro) I decided to go with them on this new project. We are replacing carpet in preparation for selling the house. I needed the older carpet stretched and new carpet installed. We struck a deal - they would stretch the carpet they installed so many years ago for free, if I purchased the new carpet for the basement. We shook hands and I paid the bill - about $2500. Forward to installation day, March 30 2018. Nope - cancelled. So Harry's sends the "B Team" the next day. These fools disassemble a gas stove for no apparent reason. They also tear the brand new baseboard off a section of the basement wall and throw it in the trash. Add to this the fact they tore apart a trim piece that had nothing to do with the carpet installation. And they "FORGOT" to wrap the stairs. Oh yes, and they wanted another $50 to take away the old carpet. Did they stretch the carpet? Nope - forgot that, too. Horrible service! My real estate agent called multiple times. We couldn't get these clowns to finish the job. I'm 1,000 miles away. Lesson learned - don't trust these guys if you're not looking over their shoulders. I couldn't get the carpet cleaned without it being stretched first (that was part of the conversation on day 1). We had to delay listing the house. In frustration I called the store. Spoke with Debbie - an "executive" with the company. She started by telling me she "knew everything" about my installation. Until I told her what I wrote above - then I got a story about how I, or my real estate agent, didn't call the right customer service number. Evidently talking to the sales guy (Rick) wasn't the right move. And talking to Debbie wasn't either. The level of professionalism is pretty low. I don't recommend this company at all. I'm willing to pay a little extra to support a local company. I'm willing to be flexible with the installation date. I'm patient. But I'm not going to be played the fool and I'm not tolerating sub par customer service. This whole experience was (and is - still working to get that baseboard fixed from half a country away) a disaster. You've been warned. Save your money and go to Lowe's like I should have. This isn't the local store that I patronized so many years ago. You can't go back and some things shouldn't go forward.

We had many, many issues with this company, I cannot list all of them because of character limits…read more I don't think anyone should use them, they are just awful. Biggest Issue: We asked 3 companies for LVP quotes for 2 rooms, the rooms were mixed flooring (wood and carpet). I told each measurer that we wanted to replace all the flooring in the rooms. I clearly remember saying this to each one because I was concerned they would think we wanted to replace only the carpet and wouldn't quote right. UFF was not the cheapest, but not the most expensive. The prices were within a range that was similar. 2 of the companies showed me their measurements, UFF did not. They were the first to measure, so I foolishly assumed they did it right. They provided us an invoice which had the number of items ordered, it matched what they had told us verbally. We trusted them and their expertise. Day of the install we came to understand that the measurements THEY TOOK were not correct. They shorted the rooms by about 5-6 feet or roughly 150 units. UFF's response to this is to blame us for not catching the mistake on the invoice, stating they will need to order more and we will need to pay for the install/flooring. We argue that since this was their mistake they will pay the installers, we also state we expect to pay at cost for the additional flooring. They do not respond to this, we demand an invoice before additional work is done. They order the flooring, but take several days to send us a new invoice. During this time we contact a lawyer for advice and they state that our expectation for the measurement to be correct is on UFF and not us, but we should work something out with them as it will cost much more to go to court. We decide that we will not pay the installers, but will pay what we paid for the boards. We paid $4 per unit for the original LVP. When they send us the new invoice they attempt to charge us $6 per but have taken off the install charges. In the email with the new price the lady explains that she couldn't give us the discounted price because it's a second order. We feel like this was very rude of them, their mistake caused the second order. We call and the man (Jeff) tells us that the $6 unit price is for the LVP and the installers. So, they tried to make it look like the actual unit price was $6 when really it wasn't. They were also trying to make it seem like they had removed the installers, when they hadn't. After much back and forth we came to an agreement: No cost for the installers and a unit price of $4.50. We looked up the flooring on wholesale sites and they charged just under $3 for the units, so even though they messed up they attempted to swindle us out of more money. That really shows how 'great' they are. Additional Issues: 1. They didn't clean up after the first LVP install day 2. They didn't move the furniture back on the first LVP install day 3. No one more masks in our home 4. We starts the installs on 8/24 and finished them on 9/24, that's a whole month of waiting on them 5. The carpet install took 12 hours because 2 of the installers didn't show because we have a BLM flag 6. Our LVP had to be reordered, but they didn't notify us until the day before the install to tell us when we ordered it 2 months in advance. I will never use another local company again. If I could give less than 1 star I would.
