Don't miss out on this quaint place if you like moonshine - it's pretty awesome! They have moonshine in 4 flavors - watermelon, cinnamon, mint chocolate and original. I love me some cinnamon whiskey so I thought cinnamon would be my fave. Wrong! My fave turned out to be mint chocolate chip, and I'm not even a chocolate fan! This moonshine is very flavorful and rich in taste. I would drink it as an after dinner drink, served on the rocks but I think it would also taste great added to coffee. They also have moonshine "whiskey" in 2 flavors but these were a bit too strong for my taste and didn't really taste like whiskey although a lot of people enjoyed it. The owners are great! So approachable. Raymond the owner even pulled out a prohibition whiskey bottle to show me. Never been opened and he has been offered a hefty sum of money for it but he still keeps it. Doug - his soon - is very knowledgeable with the process and can answer any questions. I was here for an after wedding party so we had our own music and could bring our own booze in, too. Take a not, you can rent out the space for your party. Overall: highly recommend. They offer free samples so you know what you are buying. read more

Free samples! Yes please and you can take my money after as I buy your moonshine!!! Go ahead and laugh at me- but these good ole boys have it down pat! And they love the party spin on their drinks- well, what do I mean? I mean 2 of them there moonshines have edible glitter in em. Party in a bottle- looks like some magical potion! But wait there's more!!! Add a little sticker LED flashing light to the bottom of the bottle and you have a lava lamp (if you don't know what that is- you're too young). Watermelon moonshine, pineapple-coconut moonshine, caramel, moonshine chocolate mint vodka, peach moonshine and then straight corn whiskey and an aged corn whiskey. I bought the caramel- everybody loved that one and it's their top seller along with the chocolate mint vodka... which is the other bottle I bought! I was highly tempted to buy the peach- it was delicious. BUT- no one else would have helped me drink it at home. The inner boozer knew it was just too much! So no peach. I'll regret it later. If you are driving thru Georgia and you like consuming strong spirits then stop off. Raymond was great to talk to about moonshine and making liquor. His son was cool also. They let us bring in our French bull dog in with us. I got 4 bottles of Raymond Reserve and two apple pies. be careful with free sampling it will knock you on your ass lol!! Found this distillery online and then gave it a try. Can't say enough about how entertaining Raymond (the owner and master distiller) is! He and his son (and grandson when he's available) run the place. We learned so much about not only the products they produce but the history of the place and surrounding areas. Raymond is a fount of stories. We could have spent hours just listening to him. The products are superior and far above the quality other distillers produce that we've tried. I would recommend visiting and you'll end up buying something I guarantee. But, stay awhile and talk to the owners and above all just listen and enjoy. If there were 10 stars that would actually be a more accurate review. Be sure to thank Raymond for his service as he is a Vietnam veteran. read more

I found Dalton Distillery due to a Groupon and we took a nice half hour drive from Chattanooga to take a tour. This place is a hidden gem ! It might be the best "to do" I've ever stumbled upon on google. The original moonshine is the most interesting we've ever had. It's very similar to authentic German schnapps. The sunflower seed spirit is incredible. And the reserve whisky rivals Pappy's in flavor. The history of this recipe dates back 5 generations (3 legally as was pointed out to us ). The stories are great. The beverage is great. The owners take time to share as much information as you want to know. They even make cocktails! You definitely will want to visit this little distillery. read more
