At first, servers were scarce, but as I got up to go to the bar, the bartender must've seen me and was on his way. He took our initial drink order. At $14 per glass of wine, we just went for the bottle at $54 and a charcuterie board at $27. We are on vacation, so why not. The view is excellent. The weather cooperated. People watching from on high was fun, and the nature scenery was nice. Service was a little slow, but not an imposition, however, if it gets much busier, that could be a thing. We later learned they previously had a $10 cover, but we did not get asked for this and it must be a thing of the past, or I understand it is waived for guests of the Edwin Hotel (the bar's affiliated with the Edwin) but we had dinner reservations at Whitebird, the affiliated restaurant. The charcuterie was good with cheeses, cured meats, jams, crackers, etc. all in all, the star is the Al fresco seating and the River, and of course the company of my beautiful wife! So, go for outdoor seating and bring your own beau!

The atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and cozy, with plenty of seating for humans to settle in and enjoy a whiskey flight. The staff immediately made me feel welcome and even brought over a water bowl without being asked. As a professional lounge dog, I appreciated the hospitality. My humans enjoyed sampling several whiskeys while I worked hard supervising the tasting process from my blanket-covered seat at the bar. The tasting room has a comfortable, laid-back feel that makes it easy to spend an hour or two escaping the weather. The unexpected highlight? The gift shop sells a plush dog toy of one of their whiskey bottles. Naturally, my humans bought one for me, and it quickly became one of my favorite toys. If you're traveling with a dog and looking for a dog-friendly indoor activity in Chattanooga, this is an easy recommendation. Dogba's verdict: Great whiskey for the humans, water service for the dogs, and a souvenir toy worthy of bringing home.

Our company, of about 10 of us, did the tour and tasting and our tour guide Jake was fantastic. We enjoyed learning about the history of the company and his humor throughout the tour. Also, he answered any curveball questions we threw at him. The staff at the bar walked us through the flight and were able to educate us on all of their products. We will definitely be back and booking more tours in the future for our company.

They also have a tour of the old power station that now houses the Dam Whiskey distillery. The tasting costs $5 if you take the tour which costs $32 pp. We did the tasting first and you get minuscule amounts of their wares that is just barely enough to taste although the whiskeys were quite good. The tour on the other hand is definitely something to be avoided. There is no active distilling taking place and the old power station houses barrels of distillate being aged. The tour guide pointed out where there generators were located in the past and a flooded area where new generators were placed in the past. The structure is filthy, dusty and now houses remnants of their Haunted House tour (around Halloween.) This place is an OSHA nightmare with water puddles to walk through and rather dangerous staircases and debris on the floors. It would have been nice if a minimal effort might have been made to show what the power station might have looked like in its heyday. We were glad to escape unscathed except for the cost. Avoid this if you can.

She said she didn't know and then took a big hit off a vape pen in front of us.

However, the excellent customer service more than makes up for it! We had a party of four and were able to seat ourselves while the waiter came over to take our orders. Everyone was super attentive and the service was fast. One server brought us our waters and was incredibly nice. Then another staff member came over to greet us and take our orders. Another gentleman brought out our fries and checked to see if we were ready to order our entrees, but we had already placed our orders. I really appreciated how attentive everyone was throughout our visit! Our food came out in a good amount of time. I ordered the miso ramen, and let me just say--it was a 10/10! The flavors were absolutely spectacular. I've never had tofu that good, and it was served on the side. The way the edamame was seasoned and paired with the broth was simply TOO GOOD! My wife ordered the tonkotsu ramen, which she really enjoyed. I tasted the broth, and it was definitely different from mine, but in a good way! My son also enjoyed his fries, which were fried to perfection. Needless to say, I HAVE to come back before I hit the road and head home!

When you want to get drunk, but you also need your drink to look electric blue and taste like raspberry, you come here. I'm not the biggest fan of sweet drinks in general, and especially not sweet alcohol. But I wasn't about to pass up an opportunity to taste some of Old Forge Distillery's moonshine and gin. They also make vodka, whiskey and rum. The gin was good! It doesn't taste like traditional gin, because they age it in bourbon barrels, so it has a little bit of a caramel taste to it. (In my opinion.) The moonshine and the cream liqueurs are where you will find the crazy flavors. I think my favorite was the coffee moonshine, which tastes like a wonderfully spiked black coffee. Samples are plentiful. The bartender told us which ones were crowd favorites, and also recommended some that I would not have picked myself. They also have a huge gift shop with lots of tchotchkes, plus bottles of their goods to take home with you.
