- WORST COMPANY FOR PRODUCTS AND SERVICE
Our story begins six years ago when we built our dream home. Every window and door in our home is produced and installed by so called Dalmen "professionals. Within the first 4 years, we have replaced our 1/2 moon window in our dining room - cracked seal and our STEAL porch door because of warping. Warping, in a covered, shaded porch area...it's a 5 year old steal door! If this wasn't bad enough, in February of 2016 I noticed frost on the top and bottom of our STEAL patio doors. After close examination, yup...it was also warped allowing the cold to enter our FIVE year old, NEW build, home. I called Dalmen in St-Isidore and about three months later, they sent someone out to determine the problem. Oh, yes...it always takes several months for someone to come and determine the problem, then another several months for the part to be ordered and then someone to come and fix it. This was the case with both our 1/2 moon window and first warped porch door. So, now we have determined that a second steal door has warped. The initial gentlemen that arrived measured the angle of the door and determined that it wasn't the door that was warped, but the frame. Expecting these 'professional' Dalmen employees to order a new frame and then replace it was my first mistake. About three months later Dalmen arrived only to tell me that "it wasn't the frame that was warped, it was the door." So the initial Dalmen 'professional' was wrong...is what this Dalmen employee was stating? Yup! Okay, three months later, Dalmen arrives to replace the warped door that the previous Dalmen 'professional' claimed was the problem. We are now into October, 2016....from February 2016 when I made the initial discovery and report. Guess what? This Dalmen 'professional' claimed that it wasn't the right patio door, NOW it's the left patio door that is warped. Well, you can imagine my intense aggravation after now being told I would have to wait ANOTHER three or so months for another incompetent call to be fixed. Promised by the female agent on the phone at Dalmen windows, that my door would be in before December and before the cold weather hits, I anxiously await my December appointment. Well...you probably have guessed the outcome already...they cancelled this appointment and yuppers...can't possible fit me in until January 2017.
What a tale of incompetency and the worse customer service I have ever experienced. If I could, I would rip out every window and door in our new home and replace them all with products from a company I could trust. I am fully expecting windows and doors to slowly break their seal or warp one by one before they are even 10 years old and when they do, I will shop at a reputable window and door company. One that backs their products and has competent professionals working for them. Oh...and what's even worse...they are claiming that the doors are not covered under warranty. Lawyers might be involved.
