I never got a solid plan, they hard-sold me high, promising we would reduce it, just to make me sign the contract. (my first mistake) Of course, those meetings to discuss my priorities and reduce the budget, never came. My dream wasn't realized as they either vetoed, forgot or bumbled each feature of my design. Examples: I have a wavy wall, it took them days to correct the paint throughout the house, they flat refused to match my craftsman trim, they forgot my vented kitchen hood, vetoed my transom (they don't even know what that is), failed plumbing inspection three times and nearly blew up my house. (I'm not embellishing) Had to install the cabinets twice (ordered incorrectly and hung at the wrong height), the rough plumbing is so poorly done that the knobs don't sit right and turn lop-sided; failed to contain the renovation dust which covered even stuff inside cabinets and drawers throughout the house. The cleaning crew came multiple times and I still had to hire my own at a cost of $360, to get all the ceiling fans, fixtures, floors, etc. finally clear of dust and paint splatters. They scratched my hardwoods and damaged my stove. To top it off, they stopped paying the subs and one of them put a lien on my house, EVEN though, i was up to date on my payment arrangement. (Yes, that's totally legal, for some reason!) The drama continues as I need help correcting some issues that i don't feel I should have to live with. I regret ever doing business with Eco Star. First off, they said work would begin in 2 weeks. It…read morewas over a month. When they showed up, I wanted to see their work permits. They didn't have any, so I had to wait until they got them. Then, they tell me there is a problem with our plumbing, (i don't think this was true, but I trusted them so I agreed to the extra $10,000.00, to "fix" it). They dug up a trench across my entire back yard. They should have put the orange fencing around it but didn't. After our blind dog fell in the trench, we went and bought the fencing and had them put it up. Well, the job took 2 months to complete. Now, I've got bugs coming out of the drains. Mosquitoes, gnats, flies. They dive bomb me while I'm on the toilet. The best part, I was taking a shower, I look down and there's a big black flat headed worm in the shower with me!! Called a plumber and they tell me the toilet drain is not working, and sewage is bubbling up from the pipe. It's going to cost $6,000.00, to fix. I called eco star and they said it's out of warranty so I'm on my own. I'm 66 years old old. My husband and I are on social security. We now have to take out a loan to pay for repairs. Because of eco star, I hate my bathroom and wish I'd just left it alone. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ECO STAR!!!!

I believe that we truly did get what we paid for and then some. This company has been absolutely amazing to work with. They are extremely communicative and go above and beyond. Richard, the lead contractor on the job, worked with me on every aspect. He would let me know when people were coming, if they weren't coming (we had some weather delays) and always showed up to get make sure all was going according to plan. He always responded immediately if I had questions/concerns. They even, at our request (and their creativity) were able to also reuse our hardware and fixtures. They painted the items and they looked brand new! I will use them for any house project I have going forward. They do outstanding work!

When I purchased the home, I knew that I loved the layout but hated the finishings, so as soon as I closed, I immediately started looking for a contractor. Right away, I was impressed by Grant's professionalism. After a few minutes of standard pleasantries, he got right down to business. We spent about a half hour walking through each room in my home, talking through what I wanted to do. Based on the walkthrough, Grant quickly turned around a detailed bid, and we started the project shortly thereafter using the bid as our project plan. In addition to the initial walk-through, I worked with Melissa on a number of aesthetic selections. One area where Melissa played a crucial role was the layout for the master bathroom. I knew the existing layout utilized the space very poorly, but I had no idea how exactly to rearrange everything. Melissa came back with 3 options (one of which we moved forward with), and I know I would never have ended up with the design we landed on without her help. Due to my short timeframe, we started the project without drawings or precise plans (other than what was prepared for the initial bid). Tyler was incredibly adept at reacting quickly during the project, especially when last minute changes were needed. Overall, we finished within the agreed upon timeframe, and only exceeded the original budget for items I added during the project. All the subs they brought in were great, especially the painters and tile guys. When we did the final walkthrough, there were a few minor issues, but they were fixed in an expeditious manner at no extra charge.
