Because of the nature of our operation, I was looking for high-quality equipment and overall service and was willing to pay to receive it. After reviewing.my needs with a handful of providers with good reviews, I chose Settler because my conversation with Nelson inspired confidence. As expected, I was pleased with all aspects of the process. What I did not expect, however, was that I would receive products and service that exceeded my lofty expectations at an extremely competitive price. Nelson was transparent throughout the process and helped me select high-quality equipment that met my specific needs while staying within my budget. I was also surprised by the level of operational support provided. Nelson showed me how to use all of the features, but he also set up a number of parameters in advance based on our original discussion without requiring further input. And that support did not stop once the products were installed and the final invoice issued. I am still receiving support on a regular basis. Anytime I have questions, answers are a quick phone call away. Finally, due to my own oversight, my were entirely unreasonable. Nevertheless, met them, and then some, installing my entire less than 48 hours after our initial conversation. I would not recommend asking that kind of turnaround of any provider on a complicated installation, but when I found myself in a bind, the Settler team bailed me out. I recently moved in to a new (to me) home and wanted to find a company to help me with my…read moretechnology goals. I had previously taken a DIY approach to my A/V and security systems, but wanted to make my new place fully integrated from a technology standpoint. I started researching companies and got quotes from several before making my final decision. I found Kelltech Systems by searching the internet, looking for a Control4 dealer in the Dallas areas. They were Platinum rated by Control4 and had good reviews online, so I gave them a call. Kyle is the lead sales person there and he came out to my home to meet with me in person to talk through what I wanted to accomplish. We discussed options for putting music throughout the home (my home happened to be pre-wired for speakers, but none were installed), surveillance cameras so we could see the perimeter of the house, an alarm system with remote control from an app (alarm.com), and some light home automation including lighting control for some key lights, automated shades for my master bedroom, and thermostat integration. Kyle answered all of my questions on these topics and educated me on some ideas I wasn't aware of (like having the alarm sensors trigger lights to come on when I come home). He sent me a detailed, written proposal a few days later, and made the changes I needed to the proposal so that I could move forward. The install crew that came out was prepared for the work, knew exactly what was to be done, and carried out the work quickly and professionally. They trained me on the system so that I felt comfortable using the features and they left my home very clean, despite having cut in new speakers into the ceiling (a messy job). All that to say, if you're looking for a competent, professional, and friendly company for your A/V and security systems, Kelltech is a great resource. I will say they weren't the cheapest bid I received, but I felt like they understood what I was wanting to accomplish and weren't trying to low-ball me with their proposal. Good work Kelltech!

DW Surveillance Solutions was hands down the best contractor I've hired on Thumbtack so far!…read moreFrom the moment they arrived, I was impressed by how friendly, knowledgeable, and professional they were. I felt so confident in their work that I had them quote a second job for my elderly mother -- and they were able to do it the same day! Unlike larger companies that send out generic, automated quotes, DW Surveillance took the time to visit my home in person, assess the layout, and have a real conversation with me about what I needed. It was refreshing to deal with real people instead of a bot. When you're having security cameras installed, trust is everything -- and I felt completely at ease with them. They went above and beyond, even climbing into my attic and discovering a bug infestation I had no idea about. As a widow who's not comfortable getting up there myself, they kindly took care of it with some spray I had on hand. That kind of thoughtfulness and care is rare these days. Throughout the entire installation, I felt comfortable -- which isn't always the case with strangers in your home. Honestly, if I'd had groceries on hand, I probably would've made them lunch! That's how great the experience was. Their pricing was in line with other quotes I received, but the service was far superior. I love supporting small, up-and-coming businesses like this because they truly care about their work and their customers. They even told me not to hesitate to reach out if I had any questions about the Ring app or adjusting the zones they set up for me. Amazing service, fantastic team, and just genuinely good people. Highly recommended -- FIVE STARS!
