I would give this restaurant four stars (not a full five due to some issues but minor ones) but the last time I ordered from here I ended up with a long black hair in my food, mid-consumption. And it was deep in my rice bowl as well. I've never been so disgusted in such a long time. Before that though, I always got my food hot, they always seem to listen when I would specifically request light seasoning and light onions. I'm just disappointed that I'm too afraid to order from here again, at least via delivery food service. When I'm visiting in Cleveland I usually stick with certain corned beef restaurants. I was referred to try Dales Deli. We waited patiently while calls were being taken. Then we waited another 20 minutes for our 2 Dale meals to be prepared. The meat was old. The fries we're cold. I don't know what kind of pickle that was. After driving by this place for as long as I can remember, I finally decided to give it a try. Their corned beef is constantly advertised in front of the building, so I thought I'd get the Dale sandwich. The sandwich was very good. The corned beef was shaved and crumbly, but still had some moisture to it. The mustard and Swiss cheese complimented it well. It came with a pickle and a hefty portion of French fries. The fries had a nice Cajun seasoning on them, but were a bit on the soggy side. Overall it was a good meal, and I would consider going there again, but I'm not sure when. If you're in the mood for a quick sandwich, I think Papa Joe's is a far better option. If you're in the mood for a good corned beef sandwich, Muldoon's is leaps and bounds better. At $10.25 for the sandwich plus $0.60 for the cheese plus $1.25 for the fries, there are cheaper options out there. But they do deliver, so it's nice to have available if you want delivery and don't want pizza or Chinese. read more

On 2.28.20, placed order for 2 fish dinners, after about 30 minutes placed call, inquiring about my order. Was told that the driver just left. I'm excited know, so me an my little niece, went into the living and waited for the delivery. While waiting her mom had ordered from a different business, needless to stay, her food arrived before mines. I called again and this is what I got. The driver said he knocked on the door, and no one answered, he called several times. Yes, I'm pissed so I had to calm down, then I stated," No one came to the home, I'm looking out the window, no one pulled up", she sounded bothered, that i even called to ask about the food I ordered. I immediately cancelled the order and was told refund will be on card in 1 hour. Needless to say NO REFUND!. Called at 1220 on 2/29/20, only to be told with attitude that i had to come in to get copy of receipt, showing the order was cancelled. I was given the receipt number over the phone, she couldn't take picture of it. Driver never showed up with the food, nor had he bothered to call my sisters number. Let me say this she did receive a call asking about medicare, and she told the person not interested, and hung up. So I had to make a dispute about ordering a service and never receiving the food. So let's start with the 4 inches of meat packed in this sandwich! I've been here twice now and have had the corned beef and the Reuben. I hold every city with good food to Chicago standards but these two versions far exceed anything I've had in Chicago thus far. You can tell this is a city that specializes in these sandwiches. Dales is a hole in the wall that I hear doubles as a "alleged" underground gambling op. Not sure about the validity to this claim but even if it was true they seem to give lots of attention to the crafting of the sandwiches. They have tables out front and no room to sit inside. I've driven past this place a million times. I purchased a gift certificate on Restaurant.com almost a year ago and it was due to expire. The menu is a combination of sandwiches (philly cheesesteak etc, dinners (wings, seafood, pork chops etc.) and Asian entrees (fried rice, thai soup). Strange mix of a menu, but I ordered the shrimp dinner which came with 8 large fried shrimp, fries and coleslaw. The dinner was just ok. The shrimp were fairly large, but fried a little bit too hard for me. The fries were of the frozen variety and the coleslaw was nothing special. Dale's has offers an array of things on the menu but the salads are what got my business. I love their grilled chicken and steak salads. You can pretty much build your own salad with all the toppings you love. The only issue is ordering.... I suggest going in rather than ordering by phone. Have eaten this food over the years since it opened as Dales although not recently. The owners after Dales were from the Otani Restaurant family, hence the Asian influence. Joyce used to deliver some of the tastiest sandwiches and meal around. They really do prepare "American" food as well or better than most Americans! Try the "Daleburger". Outstanding. read more

The fried rice doesn't have that Chinese rice taste, it taste like frozen fried rice that was heated and then the chicken Philly part turned out to be chicken with mushrooms and onions but no cheese. I feel they should just call it fried rice with chicken mushrooms and onions. That being said, I would go back and maybe try something else on the menu. I wanted to try this place, so before purchasing the voucher on restaurant.com, I called to make sure it would be accepted. They explained "Yes", but orders with vouchers were for pick-up only; delivery wouldn't be available. So, I bought 4 vouchers for me and a few other people. a month later I called to place my order. When I got there, they told me they no longer honored restaurant.com vouchers as of "last month". Bottom line, my voucher was purchased the month prior, and it was well before the expiration, so it should have been accepted. Apparently they wanted to hold on to the $5 I would have saved, versus securing a repeat customer.
