In the last several months, I've eliminated dairy from my diet due to an inkling that I am dairy-sensitive. At first I mourned the loss of dairy, and most definitely cheese, because there are not a lot of tasty cheese alternatives on the market. I've tried one other brand of vegan cheese and it was flavourless and when it "melted", it looked like hard, chalky strips. No bueno.
Daiya, however, is amazeballs. I've purchased it from the grocery store and used it in quesadillas, on burgers, even sprinkling in soup and it melts so wonderfully. Their dairy-free "cream cheese" spread is also amazing and full of flavour.
There is a pizza shop near my work in Seattle (shout out to Paxti's!) that offers Daiya on their menu as an alternative cheese topping - so imagine my delight when I eat here for the first time, thinking I would be getting a cheeseless pizza, and Daiya is an option! Huzzah!
I am a faithful fan of Daiya products. They may be alternatives to dairy products, but they're the real deal.
