Cakes are just OK. I've tried their carrot cake, chocolate cake, and coconut cake. All were average. Carrot cake was the best of the three, but Costco carrot cake has it beat hands down for a third the price. I would suggest buying a cake from a local baker. I happened to run across the Shark Tank clip on YouTube and ordered a half chocolate, half coconut cake as a result. It just came today. The dry ice was insufficient to keep it frozen. The internal temperature of the cake was about 45 degrees, so it is fine to eat, but I was planning on keeping it frozen, so that wouldn't have to eat it all immediately. Anyway, the cake itself is just ok. It is actually very dry, the chocolate icing is too sweet, and the coconut flavor is not very pronounced. Saw Daisy cakes on the shark tank and my nephew said that lemon cake is the best cake he's ever tasted, he's a chocoholic! I had to order the cake which took about two weeks for delivery. It came FedEx, well wrapped and frozen on a 92 degree day in Florida. I followed the directions and while frozen cut it into thirds. I left a third on the counter for six hours to thaw. The frosting didn't look very pretty, the cake was moist and it tasted OK. It was a large, heavy and expensive cake that cost $80 with shipping. We can get a cake locally, just as delicious, for a fraction of the cost, so I won't be ordering from Daisy again. read more

I ordered two cakes (Chocolate & Carrot Cake) to send to my parents and they were beautiful when they arrived! I was very impressed that they even delivered to such a remote area. They arrived frozen and my parents were wowed by the packaging and presentation. The cakes were very large - and the best parts were definitely the frosting. I was a bit disappointed that the carrot cake didn't come with walnuts but I can appreciate the company's consideration to those with allergies. The Carrot Cake was good but it arrived too late for the party, the ice inside the shipping box had all melted and cake was warm. Hard to find the correct way to place an order, or reach anyone when it doesn't arrive. Have to email as they don't give a phone number, but they don't give an email response until the next day. Too bad because I ordered one the first year they were open and everything was great, then I ordered two more, each a year apart, and had a lot of problems. It's probably good if you are local and can pick it up but I had to have it shipped cross-country. I learned my lesson and will not have things like this shipped for my parties. read more

Hope there was a negative star button, cake will -5 rating. They used to be amazing when they launched the cakes. I used to send them as gifts to family and myself. I just received my 3rd Daisy Cake and man are these cakes DELISH! This time a friend sent me a Coco-Mo cake which is even better than I thought it would be. It's a several layer white cake with butter icing covered with coconut! So moist and delicious. I've also had a couple of their 24 Karat Cakes which are also fantastic! I highly recommend either one. These are great for gifts as I've sent one of these cakes to a friend and everything went spendidly. Once you order, your cake is sent out 7 days later and you are given an arrival date. However, it developed condensation all over to the point water droplets ran down the outside. The cake was dry,dry. Three weeks ago we ordered a lemon cake from Daisy Cakes - best decision we ever made in a cake! -- It arrived and was well packed for the trip from Las Vegas (Daisy Cakes second location) to Washington State. Could hardly wait for the cake to thaw - but it was worth the wait! Moist and delicious with just the slightest tartness from the lemon curd that separated the layers - YUM! I had used Daisy Cakes once before to send a cake to an out-of-town friend for their birthday so I decided to treat myself to the Daisy Lemon Cake. The cake is way too tart for my taste, the cream cheese frosting is fine but does nothing to offset the astringent taste of the lemon filling, and the cake itself is dry. I ordered two cakes for $107 online - to have them shipped to my sister's 40th. I receive a confirmation - all is good. On her birthday she didn't get it. I called and the bumbling assistant guaranteed me it would be in the mail the next day and that she'd call me back with a tracking number that day... Nada. I call both numbers on the site, which lead to different voicemail greetings. One of them is so harried and condescending - instead of apologizing - it blames the delay UPS and the fact that the cakes are perishable. HELLO PEOPLE - you aren't the only people selling perishable items. Not all perishable items are shipped on Monday and Tuesday.
