I wanted to try this cake since I first saw it on Shark Tank, but I stopped myself from ordering because of its high price. Well I finally took the plunge and we received the cake today. The cake arrives frozen without any decorations. You need to thaw it at room temperature for 5 to 6 hours. The taste is just okay, and my children didn't even finish their slices. My local grocery store sells carrot cakes for a small fraction of the price, and they are baked on premise and sold fresh without freezing. That might be why I prefer the local store version and believe it tastes way better than this one. Daisy Cakes might taste great if bought fresh, but the frozen version is just okay and not worth the high price you pay for it. read more

I've ordered cakes from ilovedaisycakes and they were very good, never had a problem with the shipping or the packaging. I ordered the red velvet cake and the minikins which was very tasty,I would definitely recommend them. read more

Cakes are just OK. I've tried their carrot cake, chocolate cake, and coconut cake. All were average. Carrot cake was the best of the three, but Costco carrot cake has it beat hands down for a third the price. I would suggest buying a cake from a local baker. You'll get a better cake and a lot less money. read more

The Daisy Cakes coconut cake was packaged perfectly. Looked nice and came frozen solid. So everyone was excited to try it. The cake was very dry with absolutely no flavor. Not one person (8 total) at the get-together liked it. Wasn't worth the calories. Needless to say the cake ended up in the trash. Christine, Oakton VA read more

I just ordered a cake for the first time. We needed it to arrive quickly and they were really responsive and able to accommodate our delivery request. It arrived right on time for a very special birthday surprise! Absolutely beautiful cakes! I would highly recommend this business . . . . read more

Arrived okay but it's just like any other chocolate cake. Definitely not worth what I paid. Disappointed.

Coconut Cake. I'm not a baker and love a good cake. This cake was dry and tasted old. The plastic wrap was half off in the box. Nobody liked it and it was thrown in the trash. Huge disappointment!!!! read more

Have yet to taste it. Ordered it nearly a week ago and paid for a 2nd day air shipping. This totals nearly a $100 for a single cake cost. So far they have emailed me twice asking me when I would like it shipped. Seems paying for an expensive air shipment still requires clarification on how quickly I want it shipped. I may add to this disappointment after seeing how it tastes. read more

I happened to run across the Shark Tank clip on YouTube and ordered a half chocolate, half coconut cake as a result. It just came today. The dry ice was insufficient to keep it frozen. The internal temperature of the cake was about 45 degrees, so it is fine to eat, but I was planning on keeping it frozen, so that wouldn't have to eat it all immediately. Anyway, the cake itself is just ok. It is actually very dry, the chocolate icing is too sweet, and the coconut flavor is not very pronounced. I feel like I could have gotten the same quality of cake from a box. Very disappointing. read more

The vegan carrot cake is the absolute best! I have tried many others but this takes the cake no pun intended!!!!! You can't go wrong read more

Saw Daisy cakes on the shark tank and my nephew said that lemon cake is the best cake he's ever tasted, he's a chocoholic! I had to order the cake which took about two weeks for delivery. It came FedEx, well wrapped and frozen on a 92 degree day in Florida. I followed the directions and while frozen cut it into thirds. I left a third on the counter for six hours to thaw. The frosting didn't look very pretty, the cake was moist and it tasted OK. It was a large, heavy and expensive cake that cost $80 with shipping. We can get a cake locally, just as delicious, for a fraction of the cost, so I won't be ordering from Daisy again. read more

I ordered two cakes (Chocolate & Carrot Cake) to send to my parents and they were beautiful when they arrived! I was very impressed that they even delivered to such a remote area. They arrived frozen and my parents were wowed by the packaging and presentation. The cakes were very large - and the best parts were definitely the frosting. I was a bit disappointed that the carrot cake didn't come with walnuts but I can appreciate the company's consideration to those with allergies. I was also impressed that the company offers vegan cakes - which I hope to purchase in the future for my vegan friends! read more

The Carrot Cake was good but it arrived too late for the party, the ice inside the shipping box had all melted and cake was warm. Hard to find the correct way to place an order, or reach anyone when it doesn't arrive. Have to email as they don't give a phone number, but they don't give an email response until the next day. Too bad because I ordered one the first year they were open and everything was great, then I ordered two more, each a year apart, and had a lot of problems. It's probably good if you are local and can pick it up but I had to have it shipped cross-country. I learned my lesson and will not have things like this shipped for my parties. read more

I've been wanting to try Daisy cakes for a while now ,and decided to order the limited edition purple velvet cake , this cake was 69.95 . But I had high hopes! THe cake arrived frozen and packaged beautifully, It was much smaller than it looked in the photos on their Facebook page , but I still l had high hopes . After tasting this cake I would never order again , the icing was delicious , but the cake itself was dry and very pasty tasting , not the delicious moist flavorful cake I was expecting ! After shipping and all this cake was close to 100.00 had it been amazing like I expected, I would have been thrilled , but daisy cakes for myself and my guest was a complete disappointment !! read more

This place scares me. All I gave them was my email address, and they somehow knew who I was, my address, and WORST OF ALL... my credit card information so all I needed to do was click "send order". Simple .... yes. Scary... ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!! read more

Hi Kim, Since I know how to cook & bake well, my standards for a meal are much higher. Accordingly, I don't eat fast foods. Plus, I rarely eat out, as I AM always disappointed by the quality of the food preparation. I do like to cook & bake, especially from old family recipes, using only basic kitchen ingredients. I recently bought your "Daisy Cakes" cookbook. So far, I have made the apple & cherry cakes. Both of them really impressed my family & I. I can't wait to try making one of the pie recipes next. Thank You Kim for compiling such a wonderful cookbook. read more

Recently ordered a daisy chocolate cake for our anniversary mid July. It was a huge disappointment. I would never buy them again. The cake was very dense. Little icing. Hope there was a negative star button, cake will -5 rating. They used to be amazing when they launched the cakes. I used to send them as gifts to family and myself. But Now it's the worst cake I have ever tasted in my life. Even the grocery store cake tastes much better than the daisy cake. Extremely disappointed. I did write an email to them, no reply. I guess now it's all about making money. No quality just quantity. read more

I just received my 3rd Daisy Cake and man are these cakes DELISH! This time a friend sent me a Coco-Mo cake which is even better than I thought it would be. It's a several layer white cake with butter icing covered with coconut! So moist and delicious. I've also had a couple of their 24 Karat Cakes which are also fantastic! I highly recommend either one. These are great for gifts as I've sent one of these cakes to a friend and everything went spendidly. Once you order, your cake is sent out 7 days later and you are given an arrival date. The cake I sent was delivered right on time with no problems. I'll always be a customer of Daisy Cakes! read more

Ordered the chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. Delicious! Frosting is perfect. The ganache in between the layers is not as good as the frosting on top but still the best chocolate cake I have ever purchased. We did have an issue with the delivery time but once I called, the order was expedited immediately. So glad I finally got to taste the delicious cake I saw on Shark Tank! read more

After reading these reviews and looking into the background of the business In my opinion was that the people in the bakeries only cared about getting paid they didn't care about the appearence or taste those people had no business being a part in this company and I hope they were fired. I do think these are great cakes just need to be made by the right people. read more

One byte and you want to spit it out of your mouth without swallowing. I got mine after SharkTank. If you purchased these in a normal bakery and took a byte in front of the shop, you'd go back into the store and throw it at the cashier! Is there a Zero rating? These are gross. read more

Was sent a chocolate cake for my birthday. Cake arrived frozen as expected and told to unwrap and let thaw. However, it developed condensation all over to the point water droplets ran down the outside. The cake was dry, dry. I also found that if eaten at room temperature the frosting did not compensate at all for the dryness of the cake, so ate it directly from the fridge. read more

Three weeks ago we ordered a lemon cake from Daisy Cakes - best decision we ever made in a cake! -- It arrived and was well packed for the trip from Las Vegas (Daisy Cakes second location) to Washington State. Could hardly wait for the cake to thaw - but it was worth the wait! Moist and delicious with just the slightest tartness from the lemon curd that separated the layers - YUM! The cake was so good that we ordered one for our son's birthday and it arrived yesterday. I think we made new customers out of our son and daughter-in-law. They LOVED the lemon cake and we can all hardly wait to try our next flavor! read more

I was really impressed with this company when I saw them on Shark Tank. But, have had a terrible experience with them since. I ordered two cakes for $107 online - to have them shipped to my sister's 40th. I receive a confirmation - all is good. On her birthday she didn't get it. I called and the bumbling assistant guaranteed me it would be in the mail the next day and that she'd call me back with a tracking number that day... Nada. I call both numbers on the site, which lead to different voicemail greetings. One of them is so harried and condescending - instead of apologizing - it blames the delay UPS and the fact that the cakes are perishable. HELLO PEOPLE - you aren't the only people selling perishable items. Not all perishable items are shipped on Monday and Tuesday. This is quite possible the worst and most unprofessional company I have ever done business with. Happy Mother's Day!! Edit +1 - they just got the cake and said it was truly delicious! read more

After kicking and screaming and a report to the BBB Daisy Cakes agreed to refund the $44 for the cake and the $35 for shipping. When asked if I would like a complimentary cake I "left it up to them"...no cake was sent. Their reasoning for ALL of the mistakes and problems was..."They THOUGHT the cake was sent" Don't do business with this company, it's one BIG headache. read more

I also saw Daisy Cakes on Shark Tank and kept them in mind for a future gift. I kept my fingers crossed as I hoped this would all work out as a nice surprise for my Daughter's birthday. My Daughter lives on the West coast and we are on the East coast. I wanted to make her a birthday cake but couldn't since she is so far away. Daisy cake to the rescue! I chose the red Velvet cake. It was easy to order on line and it arrived on the day I requested. I was wondering how it would all make it. It arrived frozen inside a big styrofoam container. Directions Said to let sit for 3 hours. Good so far! And itt was a success! My Daughter and her coworkers loved it! They all thanked me! My Daughter sent me a picture and I wish I could of had a bite! It looked yummy. I almost deducted a star because it cost as much for shipping as the cake! A bit pricy. But then again...sending flowers would probably cost the same. I would definitely do this again! read more

I had used Daisy Cakes once before to send a cake to an out-of-town friend for their birthday so I decided to treat myself to the Daisy Lemon Cake. The cake is way too tart for my taste, the cream cheese frosting is fine but does nothing to offset the astringent taste of the lemon filling, and the cake itself is dry. Now, I'm concerned that I may have sent a cake to a friend that they were too kind to tell me wasn't very good. It's a shame to waste but after one slice, I'm disposing of the cake. read more

I love the show shark tank and I love cake. This is a great company. I have ordered a total of four cakes from this company over the last two years. My first cake was for my birthday. It was the sampler which included carrot, lemon, choc, and red velvet. The red velvet and choc were my favorites. I have also ordered a choc mint , peanut butter choo choo, choc Carmel. My second order I scored the deal buy one cake get the second free. All of my cakes have arrived on time and tasting delicious. The cake to ratio frosting was perfect and the homemade taste makes me wish I could order one of these cakes for every special occasion . These cakes came frozen and freeze very well if you don't feel like eating it all at once. I would say thiscake feeds 4-6 people depending on how big you slice the cake. What really impressed me about this company was their customer service . I was sent the wrong cake by mistake with the buy one get one free offer. I called the company and they had my cake shipped the next day and the mistake cake I got to keep . Overall ,I will turn to these company for my cake needs. The carrot cake really is one of the best flavors . Chunks of carrots with delicious frosting and most cake. Go get yourself a daisy cake. read more

I saw this Company on Shark Tank and had to have their lemon curd cake!! Being on the West Coast, I contemplated for months spending $40 to ship a $50 cake. I mean there are plenty of great bakeries around Newport Beach, why would I need to have a cake shipped from the East Coast?? How much better could it be?? So I tried a couple of very popular bakeries around and still could not get Daisy Cakes lemon curd cake out of my mind. So I gave in and ordered one!! Man, I am glad I did!!! The Sharks were right; this cake is amazing!!! It truly is the best lemon curd cake I've ever had!!!!! I'm only sorry that I didn't order 2 as they can last up to 6 months frozen. I would give 100 stars if I could! I highly recommend trying Daisy Cakes!! read more

I ordered the coconut cake and was very disappointed in the denseness and heavy thick texture after it thawed out. A local fresh cake is preferably for me after the experience. The icing was also heavy and tasteless. Its unfortunate that my cake experience was not pleasant. We were unable to eat the cake. It cost too much to take a chance on another cake. read more
