Nice big parking lot to loiter in.
    Brian S.

Blizzards near the lake Dairy Queen started in 1940 now has over 6,000 stores in over a dozen countries, Many are seasonal and located near water and deliver great memories of vacations along with the Blizzards, dipped cones, shakes and burgers. The old DQ here in Ludington is pretty typical, only a mile or so from lake Michigan, it's a take out only joint that has a huge parking lot and a bunch of picnic tables scattered around so you can watch the traffic go by as you devour your caloric treats It's cash only and long lines can form during peak hours but people working here are friendly and efficient and make sure things move along quickly Part of the summer fun is anticipating your Blizzard or Peanut Buster Parfait and talking to other folks waiting in line. Just a typical and kind of scruffy looking DQ that continues to do things the way it has for decades. And that means a whole of more Blizzards as well as pleasant memories will continues to pour out it's windows.

    Awesome outdoor seating!!

The food is great, my biggest complaint is how they still don't accept debit or credit in this day and age it's crazy.

Great Dairy Queen with prompt service. Just remember that they DO NOT take credit cards.

Fast, friendly service. Went on Sunday early evening at live…read moremusic started at 6pm. The food was pretty darn good. We had the pretzels and fried pickles to share as starters. The fried pickles are in French fry form. Perfectly coated and crispy. The pretzels were buttery and soft. Would recommend both! Not anything special about the burger or chicken strips according to the others with whom I was dining. The nachos on the other hand were excellent! Fresh lettuce, tomato, and onions. Great tasting ground beef. The half size was more than enough for a normal appetite. It was our first time in the area. I'd definitely check out other spots if in the area again before committing to this one, but not disappointed with our visit.

Met up with a group of 5 to get drinks and food before checking into our Airbnb. The first thing we noticed was that there were no tables for groups larger than 4, so we grabbed a chair from another table and all crammed around a high top. There appeared to only be 1 waitress working and while she was friendly she was not attentive. Food took 50minutes to come out and drinks ran empty without refills. I had ordered 2 appetizers and skipped the mains. First up were the fried Pickle Chips that came with a ranch dip. The batter was flavorful, and the pickle fried to perfection. The second app I had gotten were the Bavarian Pretzel Sticks which came with a house made beer cheese. The pretzels were warm and doughy without being dry and the beer cheese was incredible. The rest of the table ordered wings and a burger, and everyone had great things to say about their food. The food was great but the wait time, lack of seating, and lack of staff really put a damper on the experience. This pub is currently sitting at a 5.3 on my Beli and it feels like a fair rating. Food is on point, customer service needs work.

Today we visited and it was awful. It is so sad to see that this restaurant has completely went down hill. Things started off fine. We were greeted at the door and seated right away. We then waited 50 minutes for our food to come out. Our appetizers came out quickly because they were just deep fried apps, but our entrees took 50 minutes. Our appetizers didn't taste right like the oil was old or something. The onions rings did not look appetizing, a darker color to them from the oil? My friend has the fish and chips and said the fish had good flavor but it was chewy and soggy. My other friend had the fettuccine Alfredo and didn't even eat it. We all tried it and it didn't taste like Alfredo. It had tomatoes in it too. My other friend had the salmon and rice pilaf and thought it was good. I had the cowboy burger. It was a really good burger, the patty was on the thinner side and it definitely wasn't cooked all the way as shown in picture. I appreciated that they used real bacon and not microwave cheap bacon. The bun was a little small for the burger but it was packed with onion rings, bacon and bbq sauce. Again, the onion rings weren't great. The manager/our waitress Mandy was kind and attentive. She asked why I didn't want a box for my burger, and I just said it wasn't really cooked all the way. Then she shared about how things have been rough there and she is hoping to turn it around with being recently hired. She shared how the chef "has no clue what he is doing." Whoever owns Timbers is going to have to close their doors because no one is going to visit a restaurant that is not enjoyable. It was a Saturday night at 5-6pm and there were only 4 tables with people dining. That is a big red flag if your business only has 4 tables on a Saturday. The atmosphere is great, they have an upstairs and a small deck out back, and it is just so sad it is going to waste. There is free street parking and a small parking lot next to the restaurant. Overall I hope this place can turn around.

Upon first look it does not appear any exterior improvements have been made - the place looks a bit run down and can do with some paint and landscaping. Upon entering I immediately noticed that the interior had been redone with paint to brighten up the place. We were quickly greeted and seated by the hostess. In re iew of the menu it does not appear much has changed since our last visit in 2018. Being in the mood for a steak I ordered the Blackened Ribeye. It came out very quick, but though properly cooked, I was disappointed in: 1. It was not blackened 2. It was pretty thin about half the thickness of ribeyes I have had in the past I didn't return the steak because I did not want to wait for a reorder. The waitress was great - didn't ask her name or I would give her a shoutout, but if it helps, she said she had only been there 1.5 years and has a tatoo sleeve on her left arm. She was sweet, friendly, attentive, and took great care of us. Not sure I will be returning for a third time.

The cloth napkins are gone along with the jumbo shrimp for the cocktail appetizer (now you get 6 tiny pieces of shrimp that look like they came in one of the frozen rings from Walmart). It was disappointing having celebrated many special occasions at Scotty's and everyone always enjoyed it. I don't think I'll be going back any time soon. Service was great and the food was edible so gave two stars but not worth the $ anymore.
