Nice big parking lot to loiter in.
    Brian S.

Blizzards near the lake Dairy Queen started in 1940 now has over 6,000 stores in over a dozen countries, Many are seasonal and located near water and deliver great memories of vacations along with the Blizzards, dipped cones, shakes and burgers. The old DQ here in Ludington is pretty typical, only a mile or so from lake Michigan, it's a take out only joint that has a huge parking lot and a bunch of picnic tables scattered around so you can watch the traffic go by as you devour your caloric treats It's cash only and long lines can form during peak hours but people working here are friendly and efficient and make sure things move along quickly Part of the summer fun is anticipating your Blizzard or Peanut Buster Parfait and talking to other folks waiting in line. Just a typical and kind of scruffy looking DQ that continues to do things the way it has for decades. And that means a whole of more Blizzards as well as pleasant memories will continues to pour out it's windows.

    Awesome outdoor seating!!

Great Dairy Queen with prompt service. Just remember that they DO NOT take credit cards.

They may not…read morehave that true sit-down restaurant burger quality but they've got the fast food industry on LOCK. Service is usually decently fast, But the environment feels welcoming enough that I don't even mind the wait. I will say they are super expensive, And the normal burgers at least when i tried them were super salty. But the mushroom and swiss that i almost always get now never disappoints me. I have tried any of their chicken or fish based products yet, But all their sides are phenomenal. Especially their chili! 8/10

The fries were hot, I wish there was a bit less salt. I got the bacon cheeseburger it was very good. The chicken in the cashew chicken salad was cold, I wish it was a bit warmer if not hot. We got ice cream at the end both chocolate and vanilla were very good. The restaurant was decorated to perfection. I loved the wood look and feel it really matched the vibe of the restaurant. The curves of the corner were really cool and the chandelier matched the atheistic of that corner perfectly. I loved the structure of the restaurant. Everywhere but the bathroom was very tidy. What disappointed me the most was the bathroom. The decoration was good with automatic flushing toilets very good. Toilet paper on the floor and on the walls. The sink wasn't fully connected to the wall and that scared me a bit. There was also trash on the ground, I'm not sure if they thought I wouldn't see it but I did.

It was a simple enough request ... "I read the sign on the outside window ... is the roast beef…read morewrap included in that special?" You know to ask when signage isn't clear right? Manager "Frances" mockingly repeated my statement back to me then standing at a duplicate sign read it OUT LOUD. WORD. FOR. WORD. My question is still unanswered yet Frances stood there in her stained and smelly uniform and shreiked at me ... Ummm, using your voice as a tool of violence and mockery doesn't work well with most people and especially not with me. I wanted the roast beef wrap with avocado. I said when placing the order, "I know the avocado is extra and that's fine." Frances shreiked, her hair standing on end, quivering with some unexplained rage, THE AVOCADO IS EXTRA! Ummm, I already addressed this when I said "I know the avocado is extra and that's fine". A man stepped forward to intervene and he helped make the two sandwiches while I intently watched Frances to make sure she didn't rub her dirty hands on the sandwich or spit on it ... I was still thinking about this wholly unsatisfying encounter six hours later. I shared this info with three friends, all of whom pulled an unpleasant face and they couldn't wait to share their stories: One woman: FOUR YEARS AGO (imagine the insult being so terrible it is remembered FOUR YEARS LATER) My mother and I went into that Subway. My mother works three jobs and she was tired. She gave her order directly to Frances and asked for 'extra meat' and added "I know it's extra and that's fine". Frances turned to look at my friend's mother and screamed THE MEAT'S EXTRA AND CAN YOU EVEN AFFORD TO PAY FOR THIS??? The daughter of the mother, above, called the store that night to talk about her experience with Frances. She was told "Frances is going through a lot of stuff right now ..." Second woman: Yeah, as soon as you described her, I knew exactly who you are talking about. That woman is a screamer, rude and threw my change and napkins in my face! Third woman: (With a dark and threatening look on her face as she looked away to hide her distress), "I can't talk about what happened but it was BAD". I was still thinking about Frances 6 hours later and called the store to report the interaction. A man answered, he was immediately offended and said "FRANCES IS MY WIFE AND SHE'S GOING THROUGH A LOT RIGHT NOW ..." Frances 'going thru a lot right now' isn't my problem, it isn't a Subway problem and it isn't the problem of customers who bring $$$ into the store, ensuring its financial viability. Ummm, let's ALL help Frances get over what she's been going through for at least the last four years and completely boycott the two Ludington Subway stores (I'm told she manages BOTH, OMG, The Horror, the Horror). The entire time I stood there listening to Frances mock and shreik at me, I kept calm. The mean girl in me thought that ONE DAY she's going to attack the wrong customer and she will be snatched over the counter by her ratty greasy hair and taught a little about proper customer service. I just wish I could be there to enjoy the show. I filed a complaint with the Subway headquarters in NYC but expect no action since Frances "is going through a lot of things right now". HEY FRANCES GET HELP!
