Customer service is poor and they skim on their Blizzards compared to nearby Dairy Queens.

I have become a huge fan of this place particularly since I solved the GrubHub problem of repeated…read morecancelled deliveries--if you order through Yelp and live on the south side your order may well be cancelled at the last minute and not delivered. The wonderful customer service driven young lady who answered the phone confirmed she'd received my orders and prepared them and multiple drivers had come but not taken delivery. UberEats is the way to go. I highly recommend the curly fries, grilled cheese sandwich (add bacon--everything tastes better with bacon), patty melts and onion rings. Be careful with the "hotdogs" because they are more akin to a polish sausage than a Vienna Beef hotdog--still delicious but just an FYI. So the very best thing about this place are the milkshakes, especially the Green River Milkshake which harkened me back to my youth and this shake at Goldblatts or the bus turnaround on 63rd & South Park (now King Dr. and its long gone). Great place dine in, take out or delivery!

I've been craving a smash burger and I decided to stop on here for lunch. My first time but I've…read morebeen driving by several times since I moved to Chicago. Ordered the cheese burger with everything and decided last minute on the Irish nachos since I heard people review them. The burger was a nice size and cooked well. It was delicious, I enjoyed it. The Irish nachos, not so much. It was a heap of sodium city omg I didn't really eat them. So the cheese is the ultra processed cheese on them so it was super salty. You got the salt from the fries, the fake cheese and the bacon. Way too much salt for me and that fake cheese was revolting for me :( Note to self, NEVER order that if I return. It's a cool, old school dinner type of spot. I was the youngest person in there so not sure if younger folks go there or not. The service was good.

I asked what time are they open for business and he indicated that they were open. I told him that I was standing outside of the business at the door, which was locked. He replied, "I'm sorry about that, I'm coming. I had another person with me and we waited for someone to emerge, to no avail. I called the number again and this time no one answered. I drove from Chicago to Calumet City, IL specifically to purchase rib tips and links. This is poor business etiquette! This is a Black owned business and why most of them don't survive. They don't practice great customer service and feel completely justified in conducting business in this manner. I wasted my time and gas in this economy, where gas is increasing at alarming rates, to be disappointed by this business owner that obviously doesn't care about customers, and the poor reflection of his business! Shame on this poor business practice and the owner of this establishment! Needless to say, I will not patronize this black owned business moving forward. DO BETTER SIR! I'm sure you won't be in business long with this lackluster service and business practices! It would serve you well, though! Good day! Good luck with the poor business practices!

The night began at Schoop's Tinley Park location…read more Their credit card machine was down, thus I jumped on the expressway and headed to Munster, Indiana's Schoops! Definitely worth the 26min drive:) This place brings back all the "feels" from my childhood as I had a Schoops near my home growing up. The restaurant on the inside, still that old hamburger joint look from the 50's. And the smell, that hits you in the nose as soon as you open the door-DELICIOUSNESS! I ordered 2 Special E's: These are double cheese burgers with one piece of cheese. A double cheese: a double cheese burger with double cheese slices. 2 orders of Irish nachos(loaded cheese fries with bacon bite, fresh green onion, and ranch sauce on the side). An order of regular fries with a cheese cup. A large strawberry shake A large Coke no ice And a small Green River Shake (mine). My order was packed up nicely in a box (including the drinks). The transporting of the food and drinks home was secured by my trucks selt belt. I was determined to get the grub home with out issues. To my surprise, the food was still piping hot when we sat down to eat. The shakes were still shaking, and the fries we as yummy as I had remembered. Everything tasted great. The burgers were so huge, I couldn't take more than 3 bites. Can someone say "LEFTOVERS!!" Score! The only thing that wasn't amazing, was that my well anticipated "Green River Shake" didn't taste like Green River, nor did it look all that green. It was a nice shake, but it just tasted like vanilla. I am glad I took the drive to this location. The staff was kind, they listened to me ramble about working one summer at a Schoops near my home, and one nice employee gave me a quarter for the jukebox! So cool! I sang a Christmas song as I waited for my food. A pleasant and delicious trip for burgers on a Wednesday night! Memories unlocked and my Schoops craving fulfilled. Please, go get you some!! Ciao

Also, the prices are great!!! No overpriced $15 smash burgers here. Good food; fair prices. Service was excellent. Wish I would've ordered a Green River for nostalgia's sake. Didn't see it until too late. Support the local small businesses please!!! Just to be clear, here's my scale: It's not gourmet; but for what they offer and the price they offer it at, it's a 3+*. There are plenty of places that offer the same food and less ambiance for twice the price and deserve a 2-* review. If you crave a good burger, Schoop's will easily scratch that itch.
