"Served upside down, or it's free." Curious yet? This is the popular tagline of Dairy Queen, an ice cream chain that has a very quirky gimmick; their "Blizzard" which doesn't fall! Its ice cream served in a cup that is delivered to you for your eating pleasure upside down, and if it falls, it's free. I'm not sure with the exact science behind this, but from what I do remember in science class, when something is cold, it sticks to certain surfaces with ease, which means that the ice cream is served super-chilled to ensure that the Dairy Queen delight, which can be anything from chocolate, vanilla, cookies and cream or caramel, with additional brownies or Oreos or what other toppings, makes it to you upside down, or free. This slogan has become a favorite among the younger generation who, perhaps out of curiosity, want to buy the "Blizzard" just to see if it won't fall when taken upside down. For the less adventurous, they also have various standard popsicle and ice cream dishes. So why not take your ice cream on a 180 degree spin and turn it on its head? read more
