Locals have been eating here for decades! I have drove by many times, just never stopped. A few weeks ago, I asked for suggestions for where to go next. We own property in the mountains nearby and drive by this place all the time. We were finally able to try it last summer and the burgers and shakes were so yummy! The place is clean. We ate outside since we had our dogs. The staff was so friendly and brought our food outside to us. read more

Best shake I have had in a long time!! And the two young employees were super kind and helpful.

So last year when we visited (we hunt the area every year that we can) we were sorely disappointed by the service. I thought I had left a review then, but it isn't showing. The gal that waited on us back then acted like we were stupid to not know that the menu was above our heads when we ordered, and also basically tossed our order on the table and walked away without asking if we needed anything else. Not a happy camper, as this is a family tradition to eat there after a successful hunt. FAST FORWARD TO THIS YEAR 2024...we tried to eat at The Malt Shop in Ephraim, but their doors were locked and the lights were minimal (two hours before their advertised closing), and the staff watched us walk away without trying to see if they could help us. Thank goodness they did that, as we came back to Roger's. We were greeted warmly, orders were taken with a smile, and the food was most excellent! The whole staff this time was super nice and friendly, thanked us for coming in. My old-fashioned was juicy (messy, but so good) and the fries were top-notch. Yes, we waited a little longer than some places, but all of the food was hot when it arrived. We were checked on twice to see how everything was and if we needed anything else. Scones. The scones guys. Are amazing. Come for the scones. Free with a meal. Hot delicious with Honey butter. Their burgers are decent There food really is overall pretty good for being small town bananas. We ordered the taco salad And the rodeo burger I liked every bite. When reviewing a place I ask myself if I would want people to eat at this place if they ever came to the area I'm reviewing- and I most definitely would suggest for people to come here- It has the ambiance of the old town diner feel, that your looking for when passing through or stopping at this tiny town. Pies made fresh on Monday's- usually all sold out by the weekend. Other diners in the area just are not as good. Friend ordered the BLT and it was delicious! Been visiting the Dairy Freeze for many years and always enjoy the food and cold treats. The facility has been remodeled and enlarged several times over the years from its original outside walk-up and order at the window format to its present enter and order at the counter design. Most items on the menu are tasty and come out good with a shout out to the homemade fries and scones. The cold treats are well done, although the variety of offerings has been reduced in recent years. As your food and treats are all made to order, don't anticipate speedy delivery of your order. Don't fret though, the wait will be worth it. Prices are a little high for the area and could use some customer-friendly adjustments. The staff is typically friendly and welcoming when you walk in and seem appreciative of your business. read more

I don't usually review a place after just one visit but I'm only in town for a short time. I had the blue bacon burger, recommended to me by the guy at the oil change shop across the street. Solid choice for a burger joint here in town. I actually really liked the burger. I got the "old fashioned" with cheese. The meat was tender and the bun was soft. The shakes were really good too. We got the PB, chocolate and PB Cup. All solid. The service was AWESOME. Loved our waitress; she was always on top of our party of 8. The PB Chocolate pie was decent. This place is so slow. We waited 45 mins. For our food and it was cold. They charge so much for just a sandwich and fries which look like a kids hand put them on my plate. Your drink was a seperate cost. Too little food for the cost. Staff was not friendly at all. I would not eat here again there is better places. read more

Mmmm....memories of this afternoon's meal have me considering making the hour and a half drive back there for dinner! It was that tasty! Okay first...service: Great! My waitress was kind, prompt, and consistent! She treated everyone with the same kindness! Next, my meal...I got the Old Fashioned Burger with Cottage Chips. It was served with a side of fry sauce. The dairy freeze in Mount Pleasant is a bit of a icon establishment, I like to go here occasionally, but it's been challenging during covid when we couldn't have a sit-down meal. I really wish there were more items on the menu that were more healthy. I wanted to get this place 3 1/2 stars, but they were completely out of pie, which I was the main reason we chose this place. The burgers were good, with the hand-formed patty... but I found the burgers to be a little over sauced, way too much ketchup and mustard. As you waiting to bring small scones that are very good. I'd suggest to avoid the salads, since they're all iceberg lettuce with a smattering of other stuff thrown in. We came back and tried their pie shakes, which were decadent and delicious! Pretty tasty diner. The restaurant atmosphere was nice and cozy. We were greeted warmly upon arriving and were promptly served drinks. My meal was the peppered steak sandwich, which turned out to be a great choice that was suggested by our waitress. The beef in the sandwich was genuine and had great flavor and texture, with a good balance of peppers and onions. The only reason I give 4 stars is the sandwich was a little small for the price I paid. I will come back and try some other menu options for sure. read more

Went to lunch yesterday with a friend, and this young girl said she couldn't seat us for 23 minutes, utnil 4 pm. Huh? Since when did they change this rule, and she said ever since Covid, they can't seat people between 3 & 4 or they would be forced to close the entire place down. I guess I was out of line when I looked her in the eye and said "don't lie to me!", and we left. We went to Wheeler's and had a nice lunch there, instead. Children need to learn how to work without abusing what minuscule authority they have. read more

What a nice place! I was traveling & needed a quick lunch stop. I wasn't expecting much, in a smallish town, but was so pleasantly surprised. The menu is pretty much what I'd expect....chicken fried steak, basic sandwiches, meatloaf, salads...I had a taco salad, one companion had club sandwich & another a chef salad. We were all pleased with the portion size & taste. My taco salad was a little bland, but I didn't expect tremendous spicy flavor & I got what I expected. The club was served on cheese bread, with Utah-unique "fry sauce" to dip fries in. Both the taco & chef salads were huge, with all the dressing you could possibly need and plenty of meat & veg. As a extra special bonus, for dine-in customers, Utah "scones" ,aka fry bread/sopapillas, were brought as a free appetizer. Yes! I love 'em, soaked in honey butter. Service was prompt and very friendly. I can certainly recommend this cute little gem of Sanpete County. read more

First, I must admit that I've been coming to the Dairy Freeze since the 80's. I'm a little biased. It was a big deal to go grab a burger and shake for lunch instead of the high school cafeteria food. Played my first game of street fighter here - hilarious. The food has represented traditional American burger stand for as long as I can remember. Great burgers, fries and THICK shakes. The atmoshphere and nastalgia is the highlight for me. Very few towns and burger joints with this old school, vintage, small town feel. read more

Not good. There were only two other tables with people seated at them when we ordered, and it took almost 30 minutes for us to get our food. They were only burgers, and it was clear that they were just frozen patties, no reason it should have taken that long. Plus everything was luke warm, like they sat for a while before they were brought out to us. The service wasn't good and we were given no reason as to why we had to wait so long. I had already had some lunch and was heading back home and wanted to have a snack for the ride home so I stopped in to Dairy Freez for a banana shake. I must admit I was temped by their colorful sign. I liked the shake, some people may say it was more like flavored ice cream because it was so thick, but that is the way I like it! The dinning area looks fun like a typical dinner/shake shop with booths and fun/ interesting signs and decor. I get this is a small town but it's SO slow. It smells bad. It's quite dirty. And the food is mediocre. I haven't tried the pies so I cannot comment on that. They offer up free scones at the table that are pretty dang good. They are open on Sundays so that's a plus. Don't come here if you're in a hurry. read more

I've been going here since the early 80s when I was in a boarding school in Mt. Pleasant. In the 80s, we called it The Sleaze in honor (questionable though it was) of the girls who worked there. It is no longer Sleazy. However, the food is still good. I actually have cravings for their soft shelled tacos and vanilla Cokes. I have been known to make day trips from SLC to Mt. Theres nothing memorable here. If you've been to an artic circle then you should know what to expect here. It's plain, with little flavor. Just simple burgers. The shakes deserve 5 stars for sure! There were four people in my party and we all got one and loved it. We give this place two stars for several reasons: 1. Dirty napkins given upon being seated 2. Waitress, bless her heart, couldn't answer any of our questions, which were fairly simple. We asked the following questions: -What kind of pie do you have? (After sign says to ask your waitress) -What food are you famous for besides shakes? -What's in your special sauce? The answer to all of them was "I really don't know." And she didn't offer to find out. She was only serving one table (our's) at the time. 3. We were only given two straws and had to go to the cashier to ask for silverware, straws and clean napkins once food arrived after having already asked. Overall the food was okay. Nothing special. Well I've been coming here for years and typically I've left pleased with my service until recently when I was treated by a snarky teenage boy who was overheard in the back ranting about the customers. Then my 10 minute wait from calling in the order turned into a 45 minute wait and me leaving with another persons food. Rather than correcting the mistake they offered me a gift card that they couldn't even give to me until later. Great! No food, no refund, no service. Awesome job! So at this point my family is left without dinner and I'm getting offered a worthless gift card to a place I will never return to. After assertively talking with the manager I got my refund but I still will not return. This is ridiculous. ***UPDATE*** I called the owner the next day and instead of apologizing he turned me into the bad guy in this scenario. I wasted my hour, I didn't get my food, and now I have been swore at and turned into the bad guy. I've contacted the BBB and I will be filing a small claims case. They will be paying for my wasted time, cost of the small claims case, and will be losing my business. I hate to sound pretentious but the owner is a pompous ass. If I could leave negative stars I would. The owner attempted to not only blame me for his employees mistakes, but then attempted to justify his actions by stating that since they are the only place open on sundays that mistakes will be made. I understand that it gets busy but its also bad business practice to deny patrons the meal they paid for. The owner cannot keep his personal life out of his professional life and it affects his business practices.
