We have been of customers Gottier Plumbing & Heating AND their Oil service for well over 35 years;…read morethey have been there for us when we've needed them and they have provided excellent service and support. 2 months (December) after we moved into our house in Vernon, CT, many years ago, our furnace needed to be replaced. We reached out to Gottier, a local Oil/Plumbing & Heating company. They came right out and replaced the furnace and put us on a payment plan. Very easy and excellent work. Well, 37 years later, we found ourselves needing to replace that furnace. We called Gottier. We didn't even get a 2nd opinion because we didn't want to use someone else. They gave us another great payment plan and came out to install the furnace. When they left that afternoon we had a new furnace and everything was cleaned up as if they hadn't even been there. Unfortunately, they didn't clean up the rest of the basement so we're going to have to do that ourselves! Lol. When I lost my job a few years ago it happened to coincide with an increase in oil prices and our monthly budget payment was going to increase significantly. I called Gottier and told them that I had lost my job and the woman I spoke to was just so sympathetic and adjusted our budget plan so that we could afford it until I found another job. Her last words to me as we hung up: "Promise me that when you get another job you'll call and we can adjust the amount to reflect the increase." I promised and 6 weeks later, I called her to tell her of my new job. She was so excited for me! And for Gottier, of course! What's prompting me to put this in a review today? Well, a couple of days ago we got a phone call from Eric at Gottier fuel telling us that, as we could imagine, given the state of the world, oil prices were going to go up. We had a scheduled delivery 2 days hence. He was calling because he wanted us to know that the prices were going up so we wouldn't be shocked. That's amazing customer service for sure! They are so kind, so helpful and so understanding. If you're looking for an oil company and or a heating and plumbing company, you certainly cannot go wrong with Gottier.

It was extremely exasperating watching their fuel trucks travel both directions pass my home while I was proceeding to put diesel gas in my tank for heat! It takes maybe ten minutes to fuel my home ?? This is not community service and if I can afford it I shouldn't have to have a standing account to get much needed fuel to heat my home during a crisis when you're a half mile away and driving Both directions in front of my home ! ? WARNING! To homeowners: Predatory scare tactics and…read moremassive overcharging Avoid this company, especially if you do not have extensive plumbing knowledge. My girlfriend called Farmington Valley Plumbing to diagnose a whole-house water pressure issue affecting both our hot and cold water. Instead of doing a real diagnosis, the technician hooked a gauge to our older water heater drain valve. Predictably, opening the old valve caused sediment to jam it open. The technician caused this leak, blamed it on our equipment, and used the resulting puddle to panic and coerce a female homeowner into an immediate $500+ repair to change a $15 valve and do a basic tank flush. To make matters worse, a water heater flush does absolutely nothing to fix a house-wide water pressure issue affecting both cold and hot lines. The "repair" was completely unnecessary for the problem we called about, and the pricing was severe gouging for 15 minutes of work. They weaponized technical jargon to take advantage of someone under duress. We have filed formal complaints with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) and the BBB. Look elsewhere for an honest, ethical plumbing company that won't create problems just to force an overpriced sale.
