She listens to you, then listens to your body as she works it. For example, my wife and I had both very different needs and we both got very different but still amazing massages. +Experienced - If I recall correctly, she used to do massage for the entire UVic row team, and then eventually a wrestling team. Also, as is evident from the other reviews, she provides a relaxing and therapeutic atmosphere. +Strong - Don't be fooled with conventional sexist wisdom that only men can provide the strength needed to work you over. Sheril is armed with hands that could probably kill, but you softies out there, don't be discouraged. As she says, "I like to work just before the 'u' in 'ouch'". She can give you the strength you need (and/or want for you pain loving fanatics). +The "je ne sais quoi", the "Undefineable" - I have noticed that lots of reviewers have commented on their experience with Sheril as magical, the best, fantastic, etc. Lots of these experiences boil down to Sheril's most valuable skill as a masseuse: she knows people and uses this knowledge to the massage completely theirs. When I mention to people that I get massages, they usually say that they should get one too, they just haven't gotten around to it yet. Please, take care of yourself. you can find 60 minutes to make sacred. Make the 'then' part of the if-then a priority, and make it happen now. However one thing you should know if planning to come here, is that they regularly increase their rates - going from $110 to $118 to $125 per hour for massage services in less than the 18 months I've been coming here. Now keep in mind, I understand inflation, increased costs, etc... So its not the price increases I have as much issue with (although the frequency seems extreme especially given the fact my insurance coverage hasn't increased in that time)... My main issue is the fact that they increase their prices with ZERO communication being sent out. So one month the price is one thing and then you come in for another scheduled appointment and suddenly they start charging you a higher rate without a word of mention. It wasn't until after I tapped my card for payment that I noticed the increase. In what world is it not standard practice to inform customers - especially if they have services booked - that the prices are increasing? A simple email would solve this problem but instead they just assume all is well and leave it to the admins at the front desk who have to deal with explaining it after the fact? Lucky for this place I like my current massage therapist - because their ethical business administration practices are seriously lacking.

If you can trust that she knows what she's doing (which she does) and experience it, at the very least you will have tried something new but likely, you will feel the benefit. If you don't want those things however - just tell her! She listens well and constantly seeks education on new techniques and healing massage therapy approaches. She also checks in throughput the session to make sure the pressure and other aspects are comfortable and acceptable. Besides that she is kind and generous with her time and knowledge. There were several large groups chatting away and moving in unison, which made it really tough to find a spot in the sauna or cold plunge. The front desk also didn't adequately explain spa courtesy so people were not showering and rinsing prior to participating. I think it would also help to have attendants cleaning more frequently to prevent hair and other flatsom from building up in the shower, the floors, the cold plunge, etc.

First time coming here while visiting!…read more The Nordic circuit was a new concept for me but the front desk staff did a great job explaining it while also recommending which package to get. I did a 1 hour circuit + a 45 minute massage. 1 hour circuit: unique experience! Basically you go from hot (sauna or steam room) to cold (cold plunge pool or shaved ice - I rubbed shaved ice on me) to resting (outdoor patio or indoor salt room) & repeat the process until your time is up! The circuit facility is very small. Each area/room fits maybe 6ish people comfortably. I came solo but other people were in groups talking about all types of things in their personal lives -it definitely made my experience not so relaxing hearing of other peoples' drama in tight corridors. I wish they had a quiet/no talking policy like other spas do. Glad I did a 1 hour circuit instead of 2 hours - 2 hours would be overkill and a bit boring which I almost did! Swedish massage: so so good! The massage made up for my not so relaxing experience during the circuit. Calm music was playing and my massage therapist was super skilled in targeting my problem areas with the perfect amount of pressure. I thought 45 minutes would feel too short but it was perfect! TLDR: I would return for a massage for sure. I would *maybe* do the circuit again outside of peak hours to try to avoid loud/talkative groups.
