This place...woooowwwww! What a way to sip and spend a day or a few hours. Referred by a member that we met by chance. We never would have known about this oasis in the desert. You literally drive thru sand and rock into this lush, green secret garden complete with pond, weeping willows, Adirondack chairs for two and an Alice in Wonderland tree swing. So fun and relaxing. Oh, and great wine! You can put together your own charcuterie tray or picnic on the spot. Great wedding venue, too. Don't miss the goats. Terrible experience from start to finish. The staff was completely rude, judgmental towards my wife, and clearly couldn't care less about guests (they wouldn't even make eye contact with any interaction). The property itself felt unsafe, with OSHA violations everywhere. My wife fell going up the steep stairs into the main cabin to use the restroom, and while doing so, she tripped. Not a single staff member offered help. Instead of showing basic respect and courtesy, they ignored it. To make things worse, they cut her off from wine tasting after she barely finished ONE tiny, extremely expensive glass of wine. This was extremely unprofessional, insulting, and embarrassing. They gave no explanation as to why she was cut off, and as I stated before, the two "servers" did not make any eye contact while making this statement. This place is overpriced, unsafe, unprofessional to the max, and staffed by people who treat customers like a nuisance. Save your money and avoid this winery at all costs. There are plenty of others around Sedona that are worth your money and will treat you with respect, and actually show empathy if anything were to happen. The fact that we had to pay full price after not finishing any glasses of wine was completely absurd. I have bought 5$ bottles of wine that tasted better than what they were serving. If this company is reading this, you need to do better and actually care about your customers. A refund would be amazing since we wasted almost 100$ on 3 small glasses of wine that we couldn't finish due to your incompetence and your employees' lack of explanations. This place is a joke, 1000000% do NOT recommend going here. We will never return, and hope this review will show the true colors of this winery. By the way, where were the vines that make the wine? This winery was recommended by a server at the restaurant we had lunch at in Sedona. I was looking forward to it, but was ultimately disappointed. I don't mind a place that is busy, it means they are well-loved or well-recommended. But they need to have a better set up or plan for managing a large weekend crowd. Finding a spot to sit was difficult, as the temperature had us confined to the inside. There are several fire pits on and around the property but none of them were lit, so that kind of defeated the purpose. And as I had settled on a flight of wines, that would have been super difficult to manage. Primarily because they only had two wine servers/stewards/bartenders...and a flight was served one by one in a single, normal-sized wine glass...and I had to get in line, tell them which wine on the list I was up to, have the TINY pour put in my glass (tiny being important because the flight of five 1oz pours cost AT LEAST $24...for what amounted to less than a glass of wine total), get out of line and drink it...then get BACK in line and wait wait wait until I am at the front again for another tiny pour. My family enjoyed a sit down at a table while I was constantly in line by myself waiting for my next tasting. The wine itself was ok. Nothing I wanted to take a bottle home of...especially with how expensive it is and how much longer I would have had to wait in line for it. Hindsight told me I should have gotten a full pour of something (my very wise boyfriend having done that...) and enjoyed a sit-down with my family. But I like trying all the different things. If they had a separate bar area for tasting flights, that would be helpful. Or smaller glasses that can all be filled at once and brought or delivered to the table (or carried with a tray or manufactured carrier) so a person's whole visit isn't spent in line with strangers. Overall, it was just...fine. I wish we had gone somewhere else, maybe a place that had table service (like a previous visit to Page Springs Cellars just up the road) or a better system of managing a crowd. read more

I spent alot of time exploring Napa and DA Ranch is unlike any vineyard I have ever been to before. I went here last month on a Saturday and it was very lively. It was almost like a huge family get together at a skiing lodge, with people playing board games at the table inside and others having their picnic lunches on the table on the wrap around porch. DA Ranch has 2 of my favorite things, a wrap around porch and a body of water. It is an idyllic setting for anything, especially drinking wine. If you do a wine tasting, you can go to any of the bars around the house to get your next taste. My favorite one was the 2019 Nester's Tale Cabernet Sauvignon and my boyfriend's fav was the 2019 Ranch Capra Tannat which was smokey. On this particular day, the wind was crazy outside so we sat inside at a high top table. The wind ended up knocking down a tree outside and hitting one of their buildings (no1 was hurt) so they had to cut the day short and we had to hurry up to try the rest of the wines. You can buy a tasting of the 5 wines or a glass of wine but only members can buy bottles of their wine =( I asked about their membership, and it's very different than the ones I previously had in CA. You pay an annual fee and you do not get automatic shipments. Instead you get the chance to rent out their rooms on the property and buy their wine. The room rentals themselves were pretty expensive and I think there was a minimum amount of rooms you had to rent at a time. (Can't remember exactly how much.) They have a small production so they would sell out if anyone could buy the bottles. I definitely recommend coming here for a tasting and bringing a picnic lunch and a group of family or friends. You can also buy snacks and make your own picnic from their small store inside. You do not need a reservation but check their calendar before planning the trip there. This was my favorite vineyard on the wine tour and it was our last! Family and dog friendly too. There's a lot of things to here - cornhole, all kinds of animals to play with (dogs, donkey, goats), food truck, a giant swing, and more. The big cabin itself is really pretty and there's seating all over the place. You order inside and then can go outside. There's a pretty pond with a weeping willow as well. DA Ranch has one of the nicest properties of a winery I've ever been to! The pond area is so relaxing, and they have so much outdoor seating and space. When we were there on a Friday, they had live music. They also have multiple sets of cornhole and horseshoes for guests to play, as well as a fun swing to get all of those cute Instagram pics. As far as their wine selection, I wasn't overly impressed with the cost or taste. The thing I noticed about Arizona wineries is that for flights, you have to keep coming up to the bar to get your next glass (whereas some wineries I've been to give you 4-5 mini glasses all at once, which I prefer). Since our group was sitting out by the pond, I opted to not walk back and forth and just grabbed a glass of the white wine they had available that day. Like I said, I wasn't overly impressed with the wine flavor (a little too tart and dry for my liking), and one glass was $15. With tip + 4 glasses total, we spent about $70, which is a lot for not great wine. If you can only pick one Sedona vineyard to visit this is the one. From the moment you arrive you can see the difference from the other vineyards. From the lush grounds, to the lawn games, to the beautiful log cabin this place is exquisite. We had already visited a few vineyards so we opted for a glass of wine versus a tasting flight. I had the rose with was light, dry, and tasty. You can enjoy your wine on a rocking chair on the porch, in an Adirondack chair by the pond, or while you play one of many lawn games like cornhole. We traveled to Sedona together and this was her friend's first time to the area so we wanted to give her the experience of local wine. This winery was our first stop. We arrived at about 4pm so she could take in the beauty of the grounds and pond. They did not have tasting and their glasses are a bit on the pricey side of roughly $15/glass but the wine is tasty and the farm house style building with wrap around porch and grounds are a must see. You have to come out to DA Ranch. Even if you do not like wine, this place is such an amazing place to visit. Everything about this place is absolutely beautiful, you don't feel like you are in Arizona at all. The staff is super friendly, there is ton's of places to sit, both inside and outside. This winery is on the most beautiful property ever! There is a house with a tasting room where we had the option to taste 5 - 1 oz pours or 1 glass of wine for $15. My husband chose the wine closest to a Sauvignon blanc and enjoined it thoroughly. We went outside to a picnic table to enjoy our wine and the picnic lunch we brought. What a wonderful place located in a unique spot. I thoroughly enjoyed this place. I was so delighted to see a farm style house in Arizona. I am from the south and love those houses. The deck has small spritz of water coming from the ceiling to keep you cool. The house boast a wrap around porch for any group of friend to hang. TL:DR - You're really here for the ambiance and experience. Ample and varied selection of outdoor seating. You can sit by the fire, on the patio, by the pond, inside the cabin, etc. etc. Not much in terms of food options. They have a build your own picnic option and they had a food truck. Wine is alright, not great but not bad either. All in all, it was a super fun time to spend with friends. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Genuinely love this play, reminds me so much of the midwest. Came here in early October and the weather was perfect. Unlike Phoenix and even much of Sedona, there is just so much green here on this property. It's like a beautiful cabin in the woods where you want to spend most of your time outside. First off, the wine here is just ok. Not terrible, but not great. Much of this rating is based upon the ambiance and just how much fun we had. We did get a flight, which is just a series of small 2-3 once pours. You start with one, they let you go enjoy on your on around the grounds, then you can go back to any of the two bars to get your second pour, then your third pour, etc etc. To be honest, I don't know what is stopping people from just switching between the two bars and getting extra pours, but that's the system they have. You just bring your cup up and they ask you which wine you're on. Coming on a Saturday, there was a decent amount of people and there was a live band playing out on the back lawn, but not overwhelmingly packed to the gills. Outdoor seating is AMPLE and quite varied in terms of settings. They have tons of seating in the back away from music around a fire place, patio seating, picnic seating under a shady tree, and patio furniture around their pond. All of it serene, all it providing a unique experience. In terms of food, they do have a build your own picnic option, where they have boxes of crackers, different cheese, snacks (i.e., goldfish), and meats that you can choose a certain number of items for a set cost to build your own. I don't believe they sell a lot of prepared foods, but they did have a food truck serving over priced pizzas that day. Not sure if this truck is here every day or if it's rotating trucks. The interior is quite nice with some seating, but it's quiet and not much in terms of anything beyond sitting in your own living room. read more

You could easily spend most of your afternoon here relaxing. We shared a glass of their Chardonnay as we rocked ourselves on the rustic ranch's porch. By far the best property for wine tasting in the Sedona area. I have been there twice. The first time I went on a wine bus stop and second time drove up with friends. It's safe during Covid. It's so beautiful and peaceful. If you are with someone special it can be very romantic as well. The wine is fabulous too. The house at DA Ranch is very nice too so if you are looking to host a party or corporate get together for the day or weekend/week, this is an ideal place to rent. We were hoping to sample some bold red wines, but the tasting flight only had two reds and we were not offered any options. We elected to try two glasses, one Capra and one Red Barn Red which we were told was their most popular red wine. The Capra was decent, but the Red Barn Red was below average. If you buy a tasting flight, the only option is to pay $24 and receive one of their wine glasses. We have no desire to own wine glasses, and we had no desire to sample whites or roses. DA Ranch is in a league all its own in terms of AZ wineries. The property is gorgeous and serene. The owners are kind and helpful. And I love their logo. The animals on property were an unexpected treat. This is a great place to bring friends, kids and dogs! And I haven't even touched on the wine!! My husband and I shared a bottle of Willow White (named, I assume for the stunning willow tree above the pond on their estate) and it was perfect AZ Seyval Blanc. Tip: if you call and they don't answer you can text and they are quick to respond, even when they are really busy. We can't wait to visit again! read more

The wine pourer that we had was very knowledgeable about the wine selection, and treated as well. This building is a modern day log home but still feels very homely and comforting inside, it always helps when you have cool dogs running around the property also. They even have a dog corral area where you can bring your dog and they can hang out why you do wine tasting. The swing outside is super fun along with the gazebo down by the pond. Absolute tranquil, like being in a park, sit on the wrap around porch in rocking chairs, talk with the owner who is SUPER nice and enjoy the grounds with water flowing, misters to stay cool, hear peaceful music playing, dogs love the place too being so pet friendly, very peaceful. It's off the road by the tractor on a short gravel road and we almost turned around, but definitely go here. We were blown away and this compares to the Napa and Temecula wineries on quality, ambiance and is priced much better than those.
