Precisely, I had 2 meals at Frary's, because after the first one all I could do the next day running around Venetian alleys was gush about it to my gf. Over those 2 meals, we had the tzatziki - a bowlful of yogurt-spice delight that we scraped the last of with the excellent bread they serve, the hummus - another dollop of chickpea deliciousness, the dolma - which was served with delicious somewhat sweet carrot dip (muhammara I think) one day, but equally good curried babaghanoush the next day. For the mains, the rice-yogurt dish (whose name I've sadly forgotten) was served with steaming carrots and other vegetables and an utter delight, so we got it both days. The falafel was crunchy, fresh, green, brown, irresistible, hot, steaming, crumbly, did I say irresistible? Frary's the kind of place you can't practice restraint and just want to get seconds of everything and stuff yourself. The manouri dessert is interesting, served with a light cheese and large pieces of apricot (I think it was apricot). Lastly, my favorite spritzer ever was served here, some kinda ginger apertif. It was reminiscent of the routine aperol, but something was better about it - perfectly bitter and again just simply irresistible (and non alcholic too). So when I come back to Venice, whenever that be (but it'll have to happen, does anyone manage to go to Venice just once?), good chance I'll make a straight beeline to Frary's, and not the classic italian trattorie and ristorantes. La Dolce Vita!

Payment is conveniently handled at the front when you are finished. One of the standout features of this establishment is that they are certified gluten-free by the AIC, making it a reliable destination for those with celiac disease. Their menu clearly marks numerous gluten-free options, and the staff is attentive, promptly providing safe accompaniments like rice cakes once a celiac diagnosis is mentioned instead of the pita. For the meal, we started with the mix di formaggi, a delightful selection of Greek cheeses. The main course was the mansaf vegetariano, featuring spiced rice paired with vegetables and yogurt. For dessert, we shared three options: the berry cheesecake, which was easily the star of the menu and a must-try; the rich chocolate cake; and the pistachio yogurt, which was unique though worth noting that it leaned a bit too heavily into a savory, spicy profile rather than a sweet one. Overall, it is a wonderful and safe choice for anyone looking for reliable gluten-free Mediterranean dining.

And the service was absolutely extraordinary. The teamwork of the staff to make sure that we were always cared for was best in class. If you are only in town in Vernona for 1 night, this is the restaurant you want to dine at. And make a reservation at least 1 day in advance to ensure a great table!

I thought it was the best meal we had in Italy. From the ambiance (old Verona comes trough in a…read moretrendy contemporary setting) There is nothing touristy about this place, the staff doesn't even speak English very well but it's not going to affect your meal. You just entered a fairytale of dining experience their state of the art kitchen is lit up in red and opened to the dinning room with its plating station facing the guests... You can see fabulous dishes being assembled, watch their chef whip out some final details and be amazed! Again I am shocked with their outstanding (especially for Europe) service, one dish we ordered required extra time so they sent a complimentary appetizer to keep us "busy" I recommended strongly to order an appetizer with a crazy name "egg" I want to say it was the best thing that ever happened to my tastebuds- I still don't know what I ate but it was a culinary explosive... I still crave today months later If you are in Venice- this experience is equally as important as St Marco Basilica if not more :)

Well, it was interesting to discover a well regarded Glatt Kosher restaurant right in Canneragio,…read moreright over the Ponte delle Guglie near the Ghetto Ebraico (where the term Ghetto originated in the early 1500's.). It was a bit too cool once the sun went down, so we moved inside. Everything was excellent, Matzo Ball soup, lamb chops, hummus with mushrooms. Nice service. We were there on the early side but by the time we left the place was filled. If you have hopes to dine, especially during season, make a reservation for sure.

While the food wasn't bad, it didn't make good on the promise of a different kind of cuisine in Venice. The food was tasty enough, but the eggplant and pasta were both just solid versions of dishes readily available throughout the city. The eggplant was touted as a signature dish, but was merely an echo of others throughout the area. Aside from the hint of tahini it would be indistinguishable. Similarly, the tagliatelle pasta with salmon did little to make itself memorable. I believe that these dishes reflect the Kosher dining experience, but our high hopes were nonetheless dashed by their mediocrity. Gam Gam is not a breath of fresh air, although maybe we would have been happier had we thought of it as just another restaurant. After all, tomato sauce makes almost anything delicious.
