We had ducked in to pick a few pastries from the shining cold-case, and saw that there we tables open, so we said..."Wanna...?" We were so impressed with the food, the savory waffle, the steak tartar, the cheesecake and pastries. The atmosphere and loving family service made us feel like we were locals who had stopped into our regular place. We finished with a rich cup of coffee and Ferretti's famous Biscotti. Those biscotti are sooooo delicious that we had to buy a couple of containers of them for the road.... they traveled with us throughout Italy and we hoarded them for morning coffee each day. Our waiters were the sons of the owners, and they were so charming. They shared with us some of their own travels, especially in the U.S. (our home). Our advice; roam the farmers' market in the town square and, right there, stop into Pasticceria Ferretti. They even have a nice sidewalk seating area in that pedestrian only area. P.S. The town has a great parking garage with a famous modern-art foot bridge.... memorable, photogenic!

We were there celebrating a birthday, and meeting the owner, Max, made the experience even more special. His genuine passion for his restaurant, his food, and his guests is easy to see and really adds to the experience. The food was absolutely amazing, and the atmosphere made for a memorable evening in Tuscany. Max made us feel welcomed and truly took the time to make our celebration special. The service can be slow since there is only one waitress, however, the genuine experience, food and atmosphere is fantastic. There is no wine list, no specials written. The chef is amazing guy, perhaps 80 years old and shows how passionate he is about his restaurant and folks enjoying his cooking. The day we were there, one of the specials was tagliatelle with fresh truffles. The chef actually comes out after the waitress brings out the food and grinds the truffle over your plate. He looked so proud and happy while doing it too. The antipasto was the best one we had (hands down) and their pasta bolognese was so good that we ordered the gnocchi as well. Everything is home made and prepared to order, hence why it takes a while. We will definitely be back again (come to this region every other year)
