Fabio took care of us, along with another young lady whose name I did not catch. They were spectacular. I'm a Texas guy, and we eat beef for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I was impressed with the Steak Florentine here. It was tender and was mildly flavored with herbs and butter. The roasted potatoes were OK. The cannellini beans in tomato sauce almost stole the show. What a wonderful combination of meaty white beans and sweet tomato sauce! And the tiramisu was divine. This place was packed on our visit, and it is no surprise, because they are very good at what they do. Still, it was comfy, and we were well taken care of.

There was both inside and outside seating, but due to the chilly nature of the evening we chose to eat indoors. I'd heard that this restaurant was attached to an accompanying butcher shop, and that their steaks were to die for...so that was our meal game plan! We started things off with some wine and cicchetti, then they came to the table with some exquisite cuts of beef for us to choose from. We took the "upgraded" path and ordered a thick cut t-bone steak along with sides of sautéed field greens, potatoes and fried mushrooms. As it turns out, our eyes were much bigger than our stomachs, as it was soooo much food! But, every bite was delicious and satisfying so of course we ate it all. The steak was cooked to a medium-rare perfection and the charred exterior made for smoky and sizzling bites that were meant to be savored. The food is simple, but incredibly tasty and wonderful for sharing among friends or with a significant other. Of particular note is the focaccia with thinly-sliced ham and melted cheese, and its sister-offering with salami and cheese. I could honestly eat either of those two items every day while I'm in town. This café also offers a nice selection of local wines and other small plates and shareable items that can satisfy any appetite. The service is friendly and prompt, and I always feel well taken care of by the team. This isn't necessarily the highest-end dining choice in the village, but it's certainly one of my favorites.

That same night, we also had dinner at Egisto! It's about a 10-15 min walk from the hotel and pretty fancy inside. This restaurant is where we had some good yummy pasta (probably ranked in the top 5 restaurants we ate at during our 2-week Italy trip). We had: (1) Spaghetti carbonara - oh, I really like carbonara and was craving it that night, so ordered a plate for myself. gobbled it up so fast, creamy, rich with flavor, and pieces of pork/bacon were just the right touch. (2) Spaghetti frutti de mare - my husband had this dish and thought it was delicious! :) he enjoyed all the seafood that was in there and would give it a 4 star.
