Procida di mareeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!…read more There's nothing but seafood in Procida! And if you are not Italian/ or don't speak the language: you are so done for! So here you go: thank me later! Key words you need to know! Ciao! Piacere Vino di casa, pesce, calamari, pasta di mare e aperitif! Grazieeee! Basically: you go and order a bottle/ a growler of wine, you eat with the guy that caught your fish that day as they talk about their famileis and wives! You also eat with Italian tourists! Aka the Italians from the mainland that came here on a their massive yatchs! The restaurant will send you a tiny boat to your yatch to pick you up for free. Though its pretty much a stone throw away, ya can't swim to here. So rocky! Plus watching people stumble and crawl on those fishing boats is pretty much a bonus!! Alright so back to food. First and foremost: you gotta sit outside. No AC here! Doesn't matter how hot. You're lucky you have fans! Plus you get to see the beautiful Castle! It lit the area up substantially at night!! This island is wayyyyy worst when it comes to meat. Aka NOOOOO meat! Zeroooooo! My diet include 80% seafood regularly but this place got me craving meat after a while. That being said: fish is all you want!! All the shellfish! Menu is super small aka minimal when it comes to sauces/prep style. But you get your island favorites. Grilled seaood, fried seafood. Pasta here are usually and mostly in olive oil ( which is the only way to eat if you ask me!!) It is pricey but you are in this stunning island and you are wayyyy down! Unless you are willing to travel by boat in the dark: you stay put. Service is very laid back and Italian. The owner usually is drinking wines at the next table. People come here to eat and catch up. No upselling. You tell them what you want from the beginning aka order your appetizers, primis, secondis, dolce and then some. No fuss. Eat and stay as long as you want!! When in doubt: go for fried seafood. I don't do fried food as often back in the states but Italians do the fried food wayyyy better. It smells and taste heavenly!! Do wear mosquito repellent though. It's a very dim lit fishing village area! Unless you wanna be a buffet for those flying creatures!! Unless of course: you are here for lunch!!! Then you'll just eat and drink and sun bathe like nobodys business. Once the place is full: no more tables for that meal service. Italian style! Aka long meals :D I fortunately or unfortunately had a place right above this!! I can hear the ruckus and see them all night long! :D I can also yell out curse words in Italians and ppl will say hi back happily! And even hold a table for me! Now that's amore! Teeeheeee!

Absolutely stunning location next to the sea with an amazing and colorful view of the city. The…read morebrightly colored houses and the smell of the fresh, salty sea made our experience better, however, the service was not great and the food we ordered was un-impressive. We came during lunch time, and with no signs deterring us from ordering pizza, especially with a name like "Pizzeria Fuego", we tried to order pizza and pasta, but were told that pizza is only served during dinner, unless it is the weekend, where they serve it lunch and dinner. Disappointed, but understanding, we ordered red sauce spaghetti and their pesto and muscles spaghetti along with the hummus as a starter. The hummus was laughable. Crudite was only fennel and carrot--no celery, no radish, no peppers, and put the menu description of "hummus with assorted veggies" to shame. The size of the veggies were tiny and thin. Not enough for even half of the hummus. We were tossed, literally, tossed, a paper bag of cold bread before any food was served, and had to ask for balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Servers were slouchy and looked exhausted and unenthusiastic. I understand that we are all human, but some energy and kindness goes a long way. They made me feel like I was an inconvenience and like they were having the most boring day of their entire lives. Once the pasta arrived, we realized ours was served in bowls, while the table next to us had their pasta, the exact same order as us, on plates. Ran out of the same dishes? Garnished with fried basil instead of fresh, immediately robbing the dish of flavor and lively freshness on a sunny day. Unfortunately the red sauce was practically water, though the pesto was ok. I'm not sure if salt is a forbidden ingredient, or if I just prefer my food saltier than the average person, but there was a lacking of salt in my opinion. I am a very kind person and I am always thankful and friendly to the servers and try to be positive at all times, however this experience was very unpleasant and made me feel isolated and seen as "other" simply because I'm not Italian. Unfortunately we will not be returning, nor suggesting this restaurant to the friends we know. However, I am grateful that we tried something new, and perhaps the pizza would have been fantastic if we came later in the day. No hard feelings, just disappointment.

Not bad!! The only…read morewayyy to come here is truly..via a boat or your mini mega yatch. If anyone says otherwise, they don't like you! No seriously!! We were told that we can walk here from our place across the water. Horrible! Tiny windy streets up and down! Almost got ran over a few times. Che fatto! And then, wait for it. Holy stair climb!!! Basically a few hundred steep stairs all the way down to the beach to get to this place. Oh my! I die!! I mean for real! Boat would have wayyyyyy faster!! Ok now that we made it, it was quite pretty inside. It look like a stunning cruise ship dining hall. Which it used to be! And then they have an inside area to the left: which is cafeteria style. Aka No corperto aka no covers! Aka absolute madness. it is like a violin and champagne one side and a crazy beer pong next door. You get the idea! Menu is like every other place on this small island. All seafood!! And I love seafood! No complaints there. Oh yea: they even have an English menu if you ask for it. But DONT! I mean...you can read, cant ya? :D Italian isn't that hard if you speak it. The downfall was one waitress for this entire place. She was flustering and forgetting things. And quite slow too. Food~ we had everything! The polpo.octopus! The mozzarella x toast x burrata! Caprese! For pasta: we had the frutti di mare! Calamari! Frito Misto aka fried mix seafood. All tasty!! Wasn't too crazy about the wine from pasta though. And best part~ oh my cheap wine!! A carafe of pinot grigio ( massvie) was 5 euros! Un-freaking-heard of!! SO much wine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So happyyyyy me!! Even that slow food didn't bother me. Not as much :) We ended the long slow meal with fruitta aka fruit plate! And they were all melons! Extra happy here. Overall, the lunches are usually long and slow in Italy. We know. We get it. Our families been dining this way for centuries ( so I heard). But this place took an extra hour of my time. They weren't even that busy!! The complimentary boat ride back to Procida/Terra Murrata was a bonus! Our boat dude actually turned around midway to pick up a sammich and a beer. That only happens here. Hilarious! Fun! I'd probably go back but go back early and only via boats!!!

Everything about this place says open... except the darkened building and pad lock on the door…read more Even the hours posted on the suggest it should be open... nope. At least I got a workout from trying to find the place; it's a several hundred steps down from the road the beach where this place is located.
