The ribeye seemed like the wise choice and I have to say it did not disappoint. Very juicy and tender. With some restaurants, you can tell they beat the sh&t out of the meat to make cheap meat a little more tender. This piece had no traces of such practices. The staff (I think it was one of the owners that served us) was pretty laid back and helpful and you can tell they have a serious passion and appreciation for the product. Cant wait to go back!

The only reason we put our name on the list was because Enoteca was referred to me by a good friend. We gave them our phone number and walked down the street to a local bar for a few drinks. A hour past and we headed back to Enoteca. Our table was ready. There still wasn't that many people. Huge outside dining setup and indoors, but apparently not the kitchen staff to handle very many parties. We were seated and handed a laminated menu. As I looked to the table with the glare of the lamination directed my eye towards the paper napkins. So, why 4 stars? The food was fantastic! The Bolognese was fantastic! So, were the other dishes we got... Tip of the day - figure out how to serve parties that are there to eat, get a napkin service and move to a nice piece of paper or a real menu. The location isn't a hot area so either get a reservation or be prepared to kill a little time.

So the whole afternoon I sat through it, but by 08:00 pm I gave in. We were strolling down Javastraat and this nice place on the corner delivered just what I was hoping for all day. Well cooked spaghetti with an awesome tomato and minced meat sauce. A bit of cheese to give a more salty and creamy taste, sheer perfection. At that point: heaven on a plate. Please note that the picture probably won't do the dish justice. And it didn't need the few sad pieces of rocket slaw. Maybe five stars is highly overrated. But Lago gave me what I needed when I needed it bad. And that's worth a lot. Also please look out for the female Elvis impersonator hanging out of her window right across the street, on the first floor. It's a pretty weird sight, but entertaining nonetheless. There is good pizza/ Italian food in the neighborhood. I went with my partner. We each ordered a pizza. It's hard to get someone sick from a pizza. I mean, it's cooked at very high temperature. All bacteria dies. Then it goes directly from oven to plate, right? First she woke up about 7 hours after we ate and vomited. Then I did the same shortly after. Food poisoning generally takes 6-8 hours before you feel sick. Perfect timing. We didn't share and we both got sick. 2 out of 2 pizzas got us sick. That's 100% and it's enough to never return. Aaaand, the service is a fucking joke. I assume this place is not in business for legit reasons. Avoid at all costs. .
