Saluyot veggies (jute keaves) are all so rotten nothing left to cook

The worse grocery/market I went to. If i could give this a zero rating I would. Service are not so great given if you ask something they give you a sassy look and tell you a different price of the items. Other than that price here especially the vegetables are so fre*king expensive but the quality are so low. I bought a veggies and they are already rotten. They should have taken this out of the shelves. What a waste of time m. Never ever going to buy here ever again

Last time I had this was in p.i.

One of my moms places to go when looking for fish to fry or to make sabao (soup) with..located in the same strip mall as jack in the box and arby's in waipahu..fish is fresh they also sell vegetables and other goodies from the Philippines..also seen they serve plate lunches but never did try it out..it gets busy and I seen they take card too..lots of fresh seafood and vegetable variety.

Item are above the tags. Below is a mural of food around the hot table

Located in Waipahu, Hi. This market definitely fills a need. It's a general purpose market with emphasis on fresh fish (reef fish, bottom fish, small pelagics). Read your reviews and choose your poke wisely. This is not a connoisseur poke place but rather an offering of poke for local shoppers. My Tako(octopus) poke you could definitely tell it was prev frozen( many things are-such as premium grade sushi!: But you must do it right to retain the fresh quality upon thawing). I saw chicken parts and fish filets ready for the grill also. Also all the essential veggies necessary for cooking ethnic filipino dishes. Of course they have a hot table that you can order plates to go. One nice thing is that the store smelled clean and not fishy upon fishy as some fish markets. 2.5 yelps for improperly frozen/thawing Poke. Proun (Po-Káy) even though they're not trying to be known for that. 3 yelps Overall for the job they do and work! 3.5 yelps for the variety of fish they offer.

I love how it opens early @ 7AM. So when me & my boyfriend goes fishing and doesn't get the bait the night before... We like coming here! We buy their akule for our bait because it's cheaper on most days and better and fresher than other markets.

    Scallops, Yum yum!!

Not much of a selection of fish esp local catch. Most are imported and not even fresh as evident by the reds in their eyes.

Odd, as nothing really needed to be "cooked" very long. I noticed immediately that a majority of the tables were disgusting and there are flies buzzing around. In any case, I still decided to order my food as "dine in." I did some shopping while I was waiting, and of course, while I was standing in line (almost 20 minutes later) my beeper went off. You cannot silence it, so I ended up abandoning my place in one of the three cash register lines. Since there are only 3 lines, they do not move quickly. This is prime time on a Saturday, mind you. I went to turn in the beeper and get my soup. The soup comes in a flaming box with a bowl shaped opening with feet, where the stainless seet bowl sits. Now, I get that the flaming box is meant to keep your soup hot... However, WE ARE IN HAWAII. The ambient temperature isn't going to cool down the soup dramatically. IN FACT, I HAVE BEEN SITTING HERE WAITING FOR THE FLAME TO GO OUT, BECAUSE MY SOUP IS TOO HOT TO EAT. Additionally, because the bowl sits on feet, the beef bones weight keeps spilling the soup off one end. The soup is delicious, but this is the stupidest execution and presentation of something meant to be delicious and simple. Also, if the bowl is too hot to hold and drink from... soup spoons would be awesome. ‍

Long Overdue: My First Time at Azuma's (And Why I'm Already Planning My Return)…read moreOkay, I have to be honest with you all -- I've been sleeping on Azuma's. For months, people have been telling me about their dried aku, and I kept saying "soon, soon." Well, soon finally happened, and I have nobody to blame but myself for waiting this long. Now, before I go any further -- yes, I forgot to take photos. I know. I know. But here's the thing: the moment that dried aku hit the table, all my food blogger instincts went completely out the window. It was just me and that fish, and nothing else mattered. The dried aku was everything the hype promised -- deeply savory, with that concentrated, almost smoky flavor you only get when something is made with real patience and skill. The kind of dish that makes you close your eyes after the first bite. Absolutely ono. No notes. Next time -- and there will be a next time, probably very soon -- I'm going in for the laulau. I have a feeling it's going to be just as worthy of the word-of-mouth buzz. Watch this space. Azuma's -- go. Just go.

They had 5 choices to choose from: Char Siu Pork, Miso Chicken, Spicy Pork Bulgogi, Smoke Meat and Teriyaki Chicken. These selections come with rice and your choice of Kim Chee, pickled onions or pickled cucumbers. I ordered the Char Siu Pork, Spicy Bulgogi and Teriyaki Chicken bowls with either pickled onions or cucumbers. After we all started eating, I realized I forgot to take pics of the food. I was bummed because I wanted to show how much food I got. All I can say is...for $6, they gave choke amount of food and it was very tasty including the side veggies! The following is what they're offering: - Monday: Kalua Pork Burrito - Tuesday: BBQ Bowl - Wednesday: Loaded Nachos - Thursday: Noodle Bowls - Friday: Kalua Pork Bowl, Mini Bento, $6/lb. Hot/Cold Bar, Select Sandwiches The 2 guys that were serving the food was very nice, helpful and friendly.
