The texture wasn't perfected but because I have a lot of steak back home I can tell this was pretty decent. Desserts were my favourite! The tiramisu didn't look that great at first glance but it's hand down one of the best I've had. It was the perfect balance of everything and not too sweet. Too little of a portion ;) I'd come back to visit just to try more. Drinks-- you had to order on the side. They charge you either for bottled sparkling or still water. We chose two random cocktails and a mock tail from their menu and all turned out to be equally delicious and pleasant to the eye. For the rest of the time, service got a little better. Our server came back to check on us a few times which I liked. He still continued speaking English even though I heard him speaking Cantonese to other tables. Then there was another waiter who helped around the entire restaurant. No smiles, no communication. He just did his job of standing uncomfortably close (he was trying to be attentive) and trying to clean dishes off our table whenever we're done with one thing. I like attentive waiters but not when you're not communicating and super close-- I didn't enjoy it when it happened during the latter half of our meal. In my heart, this place started at a 2.5 and by then end of the meal it was a splice 3.5. I wish I could give that half star but it's not available on yelp. Would I come back? Probably for the high tea but not for their set lunch menu. I think it could've easily been a four if service was up to par a little bit more in the initial stage. I decided to come here for lunch with my wife as my first ever 3 Michelin star experience. I reserved a lunch reservation about a month in advance. The restaurant is very romantic and fancy. We were seated at a bar style counter, and we were escorted to our seats. The staff were all very attentive. Many were multi-lingual in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. We ended up each ordering the lowest cost lunch tasting menu with one amuse bouche, one appetizer, one soup, one entree, and a dessert. We also each got a drink. I got a mocktail with lychee and mint which was an amazing palate cleanser between courses. The amuse bouche was a cracker with uni on top. The uni was very soft like Hokkaido uni and the cracker went well with the soft texture of the uni. We had a complimentary bread basket with a variety of different breads, all of which were amazing. I loved the croissants. For my own appetizer I chose the salmon caviar. I've never had that much caviar in my life in one sitting, it was amazing. My wife got the yellowtail carpaccio which was also amazing. The soup was a mushroom style soup with foam and a single matsutake mushroom. Soup was savory, rich, and a delight to the senses. We both got the pigeon entree. I'd never had pigeon before, my wife did but said she did not like it before. She loved this pigeon though, which was cooked slightly on the rarer to medium rare side. The pigeon was super soft. It was also wrapped with foie gras which made it decadent and rich. For dessert I chose coffee and also the coffee ice cream dessert with gelato, coffee crumble, and coffee jelly. Super rich but quite tasty. The coffee also came with a variety of small sweet snacks. Joel Robuchon truly lived up to its hype, and was well worth the cost. I will definitely come back.

It is still good, I just prefer the dome version. I also tried their green tea red bean roll cake and that is not my cup of tea. Speaking of tea, I also tried their latte. Not my cup of tea again. It is below average for a latte drink. I mean it is better than Starbucks (and way better than McDonalds), but not up to the average latte level for a coffee shop. I could hand whisk a latte better than theirs, and given they have the machine... I have higher expectations. BTW I have been there 3 times during my Hong Kong visit, and by the 3rd time, they have a promotion where basically the drink combo is like HKD$20 cheaper (roughly). Bingsu is Korean milky shaved ice and although none here are comparable to the best Bingsu which is Homilpat in Seoul, this place comes pretty close! The Bingsu here is similar in texture to Hanbing in Harbour Plaza, but the sizes are bigger and and you get much more for the same price! The texture of the ice is what determines a good Bingsu and the shaved ice here is pretty soft, although not the snow like fluffy texture in Korea. You have to mix the ice as well as the ice is not made from milk and they just use condensed milk on top so if you don't mix it only the top will have flavor and the bottom will just taste like flavorless ice aka frozen water. My favorite bingsu flavors here are the mango and green tea. The green tea comes with a scoop of matcha ice cream and some red bean. The mango comes with a scoop of mango sorbet and mango sauce which kinda overpowers the natural mango flavor with an artificial one. The melon one is okay too and comes in a carved out honeydew and topped with a melon bar Popsicle. The food here looks pretty good as well and I will have to try it sometime!

We ordered the Alien Tteokbokki, one of their most unique dishes, for the main dish. For drinks, I ordered the Chocolate Oreo slush and my friend got the Blue Lime Lemon Rita, a beer infused slush. Alien Tteokbokki (288 HKD): Deep fried squid on a ramen and tteokbokki base. very unique plating; taste was good but not special. They had 4 things on the side that were: scrambled egg, mashed potato, beef balls, and this interesting cheese donut thing. They tasted not bad, but were definitely very processed. Chocolate Oreo slush (53 HKD): oh my god this was so good. Quite pricey, but it was a really nice chocolatey sweetness and the whipped cream was nice and light. Though the whipped cream may have been whipped a bit too long as the texture was a bit grainy. Blue Lime Lemon Rita (88 HKD): really quite good - a sweet, tropical flavoured slush with a Corona beer stuck in the slush by a clamp. Presentation was very cool. You couldn't really taste the Corona until the end, but even then, it was only 3% alcohol content. Pricey but definitely recommend the Rita. Every table seemed to have a version of it. Their sweets/desserts and drinks are definitely their unique dishes. There was this Melona Shaved Ice that looked absolutely scrumptious, as well as a variety of other shaved ices. Overall, if you come here, I'd recommend trying their more unique things like the Ritas rather than the more "normal" dishes that you could find elsewhere. They may be yummy, but for such a long wait, definitely try one of the many cool things here!
