Couple days before I left for Japan on vacation, I was unsure whether to get a hair cut near by or try to take a chance in Japan. Well, I'm very glad I decided to get a hair cut stateside here at D Style Cuts. I left David a voicemail message and he got back to me a couple hours later to make an appointment the following morning. He was very nice and we chatted the whole time so made me feel at ease. He offered to wash my hair but I was going to go home and shower anyway, but if your not in a rush, maybe get the hair wash which is included. The location was right off the N line which made it easy for me to get to. It's right across from a cafe which looked like a nice place to stop by if I had more time between my cut. I found a new hair dresser in sunset! Love that this salon is close to my home. I had such a great experience last week with my own haircut that I brought my daughter today. D style cuts is a small salon with just one chair. I highly suggest calling and making an appointment. My daughter and I were the only ones in the salon and D himself is a great stylist! He explained everything before he started and went through each process step by step. My cut came with a shampoo and finished mini head and neck massage. I've since moved but still make the trip out to get my hair cut by him! In terms of technical ability, David can do anything you might need or want. My hair isn't very easy to work with but he makes it look better than any other barber I've been to. More than that, the quality of the haircuts are always consistently great; you can trust him to cut your hair before a big life event, important meeting, etc. and not worry if you'll have to wear a hat after like some other barbers! D helped me figure out exactly what kind of hair I wanted. He gave me recommendations on what would look good, took my input on what I liked, and talked me through what he was going to do. Then, he proceeded to give me one of the best haircuts I have ever had in my life. He textured and volumized my hair, and gave great advice on hair care and styling. He's very gentle with his blades; I never once thought my skin was irritated or that it hurt when he was cutting my hair. On top of that, he'll give you a really nice massage on your head and your neck once he's done with his work. He also places a hot towel on you after he washes your hair, which feels AMAZING. My head after his haircut has never felt better. If I had a migraine, D's haircut would work better than any Tylenol, Ibuprofen, or Excedrin. He is extremely friendly, and does everything he can to make his clients comfortable getting their haircut, especially during covid when health and safety is a concern.
