As a busy professional and father to a newborn baby, I was happy to hire out the work of decorating our house for Christmas, to try to reclaim any small bit of free time I could over the holidays. Boy do I wish I had checked Yelp prior to hiring Dennis Heinreich of D-Lighted to install my holiday lights. Nothing that new to add to the below 1-star reviews as he had the same M.O. for me, but here's my data point: I got his nice flyer in the mail (he spammed all of Seven Hills with it apparently), called him at the end of November, and he came out promptly to give me an estimate for the work. He took a four-figure check as a deposit at that time. He stated he was too busy to start that week, but would install all my lights Thursday, December 9. I was already on the fence as this would barely give us two weeks of lights prior to Christmas for such a high cost, but he reassuringly said this would be the latest date, and that he likely would be able to come out even earlier to set up the lights. So, of course, no one came earlier. His employees (without Dennis) came in the late afternoon on December 9 (he wouldn't give me a time, just at some point that day, a theme which would repeat throughout our interaction) to install a tiny strip of lights on about 1/8th of the roofline, a cheesy wreath on my front gate (don't pay him extra for the wreaths, trust me guys), and wrapped lights around two palm trees (out of five trees he was supposed to light). They then stopped at sunset but promised to return the next day to finish. They no showed the next day without any contact. I texted Dennis that evening and he promised they'd come back on Saturday to finish. The guys (different crew) that came early Saturday morning rang my doorbell and told me they couldn't do any work that day as they had not brought any light bulbs with them, only the string light holders. I found it rather odd that a holiday light decorating company wouldn't have brought light bulbs to a jobsite, but what do I know? They promised to return the next day, Sunday, to finish the job, despite them having plenty of time to go get the bulbs and come back to my home. Unfortunately, this would be the last time I ever saw anyone from D-Lighted. They of course no-showed Sunday, with no word from Dennis. Given it was a Sunday, I didn't make a stink about it and hoped they would come Monday, which they did not. I called and texted him Tuesday, no response or reply. It then rained and their shoddy workmanship immediately caused a short circuit, resulting in all but the tiny strip on my roofline to power off. These geniuses used indoor extension cords and splitters not rated for outdoor use, and then wrapped a couple strands of electrical tape around it to hold connections together. (Not even all the way around the plugs, which still wouldn't be good, but would at least show an attempt to actually seal it off. Here they just did one loop or two and said "good enough"). They had daisy chained all the tree lights and wreath together with multiple splitters and indoor extension cords sitting on the ground, soaking in puddles. After not hearing from him for a few more days, I reached out again with pictures of his blacked out lights and asked him to go ahead and take down his lights at his convenience and refund my deposit. No response to my text. I finally managed to speak to Dennis on Friday, December 17. He offered to have someone come out "over the weekend" to "fix the lights", and I reminded him that I was still waiting for him to actually _finish_ the lights in the first place. Given his track record, and the fact that we were a week from Christmas, I declined his offer and repeated my request for a refund. He explicitly agreed to mail me back my check and apologized for the horrible service I had received. Great result, right? I have neither received my check back nor heard from Dennis despite multiple texts and phone calls following up with him the last two months regarding my refund and his lights. I've had to take down all his lights, extension cords, and the chintzy wreath myself. I'm now storing it for him for free in the hopes he ever reaches out to come collect his garbage. If I continue to not hear from him, I'll have no choice but to continue to escalate this further. If there are any government lawyers or regulators out there, I suggest looking into his corporate compliance and tax history. He instructed me to make out the check to "D Lighted" despite this company apparently having had its license revoked years ago. "DAH Enterprises LLC" seems to be his current operating entity, which I assume stands for Dennis. A. Heinreich. See pictures, which are publicly available information I found with a quick search. If he indeed cashed my check made out to D Lighted, when that entity does not validly exist to transact business in Nevada, I feel like that could be a case of check fraud too, depending on the circumstances. Call people back, Dennis!

1,300 dollars for that

Worst business I've ever been involved with. It was robbery and I was so disappointed I sought out the owner, I believe his name was....well, who cares. He was worthless. He was so smug the whole time. He didn't care that I was dissatisfied. On top of that, the bill came out way higher than they quoted me and it was trash. I couldn't believe it when the crew mentioned to me how much they made because it was nothing compared to the price I paid. The crew was great. They were friendly and just good people. I had to tip them nice because their cheapskate of a boss isn't. Don't support this man. He thinks he is so smart, and it's comical how dumb he is. He is lucky the constitution backs him up because doing bad business like that will get you hurt . I paid the sorry excuse of a man. I hope he enjoy's it.

I have to echo what others here have said about their communications. The first person on the…read morephone was great, but after that my encounter didn't go so well. But my main concern is that they sent me an estimate, I signed it, and then the next day "when they were loading up the truck" they realized they forgot to add enough lights to cover the entire estimate. So my price jumped about $200. I was quoted in the $300's now I'm in the $500's! I get mistakes happen, but this wasn't on me. So I told them "no thanks" in an extremely polite way. (Seriously) They tried to talk me into reducing my job if I wanted to save some money, but not once were they willing to reduce their labor costs to make up for their mistake. I would have been happy to split the cost, even though this was their error. But they weren't willing to do anything except reduce the entire scope of the job. Anyway, after reading a lot of the reviews, especially Vince S.'s review here on Yelp, it is obvious to me this isn't the first time this has happened and seems to be a recurring theme. I really am sad as the first lady I spoke with was really nice. (She said she was the owner's aunt.) But Shelia dropped the ball on mine job and they could have saved me as a customer. For the owner, if you read this, I want you to do a quick little calculation called LTV. This stands for lifetime value of a customer. So, this year, you decide to eat the cost - or even split the cost because of your company's error do the job as first agreed. Provide all the lights and labor necessary, etc. So, you don't make as much, but let's be honest, you aren't losing here either. So you gross $400. Continuing using an LTV, next year, we decide to switch to colored lights. So now you make over $600 gross, probably more as their won't be a new customer discount or the late in season discount. The following year we make no changes so you only make about $300 gross. But, let's consider lights being bought ever 3-4 years. Your 10 year (estimated lifetime of a customer) gross is about $4,000 - $5,000 plus inflation and other purchases. Not a ton, but what is your customer acquisition cost? Also, what is the lost revenue from Yelp reviews? What is the lost revenue from referrals? Taking ownership of the mistake and making it right is what makes a difference. When you started this business at 14, did you make mistakes? Sure! Did you fix them, even if you didn't make as much on one job? Of course you did because you wanted to stay in business. You knew the value of every single customer The reviews are similar in this regard. Seriously, eating 10%-20% on a job where your company made a mistake isn't going to hurt you, and in this case, not eating that cost will cost you a lot more in potential same-house revenue. I had really wanted lights this year to surprise my wife. But now, guess I'll buy her jewelry. Oh, and when I said, 'no thanks' the final time (very politely), I get no response at all from the company. Come on folks, at least a, "sorry, we hope you will consider us next year" would be the appropriate response. You are in the "Christmas" business after all. UPDATE: several hours after writing this review I did get a 'sorry it didn't work out' and their sharing it was an honest mistaken and that it wasn't bait and switch. Seriously, I don't think it was bait and switch, I just wish they would "make it right". I cleared my schedule for the install at the price they quoted me. I was excited about it and ready to move forward. Anyway, there is my honest opinion.

Horrible communication! They've never returned my calls or responded to my texts. I'm still waiting…read morefor my proposal since July!! Perhaps they think they're too good for the little guy! Big egos too!!

I absolutely love Spirit Halloween! While on my way to downtown Summerlin today, I noticed that…read morethey had opened the Spirit Halloween where Party USA used to be located. I've never been over in this area so it took me a minute to actually find it. It's Located close by the hot Pilates studio. I have never had any problems at Spirit Halloween. They have the cutest decor if you're into Halloween. I found the cutest wreath today, but I didn't buy it since I thought it may be a tad bit too heavy. It was also priced at 41.99. I thought I might come back and get it after Halloween. There were only two more left though so you run the risk of it being out of stock if you don't buy what you like before Halloween. I saw some really cute Hocus Pocus decorations, some cute glasses, wigs, makeup, hats, pens, Harry Potter owls, Chucky Funko dolls, costumes and they even had some clearance sections. Honestly, Spirit Halloween is my happy place. You just can't go wrong with this business. I did ask the employee if the rumor about Spirit Halloween was true. Apparently, someone on Facebook was saying that they would be keeping the stores around permanently and turning them into Christmas stores after Halloween. The gentleman informed me that wasn't the case with the Las Vegas locations. Bummer!
