It look FOUR hours for 4 GUYS to load and unload a 720 sqft ONE BEDROOM apartment. Active Movers charged me over $1300 for a local one bedroom apartment move. They slow walked every single piece. Most of the time 2-3 guys would be working, the 4th was hanging out in the truck. It's almost comical how slow they worked, except the price more than doubled from the initial quote. The guy on the phone quoted me $100 for mileage. I gave him the addresses. He knew exactly where we were going. The mileage charge ended up $233. Over double the estimate. They charge professional mover prices, and they are not professionals. Bumped and banged furniture, hit every doorway with dolly or my stuff. To add insult to injury, unless you pay with cash or a check, they charge customers a 3.5% processing fee for credit and debit cards.

Dimitri and his team were professional, polite, and extremely accommodating. They worked right alongside me to make sure everything got done on time--even going so far as to help me remove nails from the walls to leave the place in good shape. They brought a large truck, had all the right tools, and charged a very reasonable rate for the level of service they provided. Wooden furniture scratched, dented, missing items. They used me because I was in time bind. The woman in the phone said the schedule was open that week so I went with Monday. The Sunday before I received a text that the movers would arrive between 8-10am. Right before 10am a man who I believe is the owner called and said the guys were running late and it would be noon before they arrived. At about 12:30 he called back to ask if they could reschedule to the next day. I told him I had no childcare the next day and it would be really difficult for me. He said they would come around 3pm. He explained the reason they were delayed was that their driver couldn't pass the background check to get on the military base for another move and some crew had called in. I waited until 3:45 then called to get an eta. He then said it would be around 5. I waited until 5:45 and when I called back the office was closed so I left a message. I sent a message on Facebook and to the owners email as well. He finally text me back at 8:04pm to tell me they weren't coming but would come tomorrow and give me a discount. I asked what time and he said whatever works for me. I said earliest possible and just got an "ok" response. I text back to clarify if this would be 8am. I received a reply back at 11:47pm that they would be there at 10am. At 10:15am there was no sign so I text the owner to confirm they were still coming and got no response. I called the office and got the response that they were trying to fit me in today and understand if I have to get other movers. At this point they've had me waiting for a day and a half. My whole house is packed in boxes and I'm not sure where my small child and I were going to sleep. I spoke to another woman in the office that could not give me a guarantee that they were coming as she said her boss was not giving her a clear answer. The last I heard from them was at noon that they were trying to get someone out but never followed up again. Don't make the same mistake I did. This is the most unprofessional and unreliable company I've ever dealt with. The ladies in the office are very nice, but that's the only positive thing I can say. I rented a Uhaul and had a great crew (Fresh Start Moving Services) come and load for me. Do not give your money or time to Cole Moving and Transport Services.

I was moving myself from Colorado to Georgia using my own truck and trailer. Unfortunately a series of incidents rendered my trailer unusable and the insurance company needed the trailer emptied. I contacted Chelsea Stegall at Smart Move in Wichita Falls Tx and she set everything into motion. She and her husband Derek evaluated what was on my trailer and gave me an estimate to move my stuff from Wichita Falls to Georgia which I felt was MORE than reasonable. I needed to be in Georgia by Sunday evening and they said they would make it happen. Derek and his crew consisting of Stephen, Phalon and Chandler agreed to meet at a parking lot near my hotel Friday afternoon and transfer everything from my trailer to their trucks. Friday afternoon rolled around and it turns out that the trucks promised by the rental company were not going to be made available and this is where Chelsea and Derek's customer service absolutely shone. Derek and one of the guys traveled as far away as Dallas/Ft Worth in order to secure two trucks and bring them back to Wichita Falls in order to keep my move on track as best as possible! Chelsea and Derek both had said that customer service was their priority and it was rapidly beginning to show. Chelsea called and assured me that the transfer from my trailer to the two trucks would definitely happen THAT evening and it did! The crew arrived by 5pm and were done by 10pm. It needs to be noted that this was done by a crew that had been working since early that morning and yet they all wanted to make sure that my bad situation was further impacted as little as possible by going above and beyond the normal service most other companies would have provided. The following Monday morning Derek and Stephen and two local guys showed up at my storage unit and unloaded the trucks into two different units in quick order. The owners Derek and Chelsea plus Stephen, Phalon and Chandler definitely are NOT giving lip service when they say that their customers satisfaction is their number one priority. ALL involved were able to help me reduce the incredibly high level of stress I was experiencing to near zero by going completely out of their way to move me from my wrecked cargo trailer in Wichita Falls Texas to Georgia in a few days time. If you are considering moving anywhere at all I can't express highly enough that Chelsea, Derek and their crew at Smart Move is THE absolute wisest choice you can make!

Over a month later and they have gone totally silent! Multiple calls and emails to the local agent Derek, and the corporate office in North Carolina. They all say they are concerned and working on a solution but do nothing and hope you just go away. Save yourself the trouble and expense of having to repair and replace your home and property and avoid Smart Move! If they have the ability to respond on yelp. I'm sure they will with more excuses like they did with my google review. (This isn't even everything that was damaged by Smart Move in the pictures, I have more Pictures, these are just a sample of what was done.)

I was excited to find this business at first, they were great people and very friendly. When they…read morepacked and unpacked, they were very fast. I do have to admit that my husband and I were not really ready to move, having made the decision to get a new rental in under a week, so we were extremely unorganized (so that fault is on us); I am upset that a lot of glass collectibles, essential oil bottles and similar items were not protected or wrapped up at all and in the bottom of boxes with heavier items. I make soaps and other items of the same nature and most of my stock was ruined by my oils leaking or being spilled on the packed items. Directions as to where items were to be placed were not followed, only some of the boxes had been marked as to what they contained and things that were told not to be packed (I.e. my purse and other separate items) were inside various boxes. Some of our furniture was warped, wheels and legs were so loose they fell off, and boxes were stacked up with the heaviest on top. I was pleased that we were able to find a moving company very soon after our decision to move, but I feel that we were over charged (moving from a second story apartment with very little furniture in Burkburnett to a one floor house by Lake Wichita). Most of the cost was due to the apartment being on the second floor, but honestly a $800 price increase due to that is a bit intense. All in all moving from a tiny three bedroom apartment to a three bedroom house with a double garage should not have been that difficult or expensive, even if I was on the second floor. I am leaving our grand total out of this review for privacy reasons.
