After a high school and college career of competitive sports, I became a road runner, culminating in the NYC Marathon in '95. Two years later, I was a chronic limper. Eleven years later, I had both hips replaced. The discomfort before and after the replacements had caused my body to veer far from the sacred geometries of the body. Fascia and other forms of support had evolved to "help". At the same time, however, they locked my body into the wrong positions. They had "robbed Peter to pay Paul." I have practiced yoga for 10 years. I thought that it would fix everything, but I struggled with chronic back pain after exercise. Someone recommended Rachel and I have since experienced a new, wider level of recovery. Rachel's work broke down all of the solid, incorrect, misplaced fascial and muscular supports that had evolved over time. After each session (there have been about 10), I experienced an immediate sense of freedom in the areas she had worked on. And that is where my work has begun.
