Stopped by here last week on a road trip. Got a cone and tried their chocolate milk as well. It was hard to choose which flavour ice cream to go with since they have 40+ flavours any given day. Also noticed that there are other options like sugar-free, lactose-free, sorbets, and A2 bars, so there's still an option for those with dietary restrictions. Since it's a dairy farm, you can definitely smell it when you're in the area. There's also an area with animals that you can see. When we arrived, there was a bit of a line, but it moved fairly quickly as the staff were fast with taking orders, scooping, and handing over the ice cream. There's also other products like cheese, snacks, and take-home tubs, but since we only had a cooler box and we're still heading east, we only stuck with what we could snack on there. Sooo many choices in terms of ice cream. They sell good ice cream and good products but the only thing to note is that service is not great. I got the one scoop lemon tart and B got the the two scoop bubble gum and cotton candy. I really like my ice cream. It was super refreshing and delicious. The lady at the cash register was pretty grumpy looking. Note that there is only one line. The ice cream line and the line to purchase other good here is the same line. Outside the store there is a little area or pavilion where you can sit and relax and enjoy your ice cream. Plenty of free parking in front. I highly recommend coming here to try their ice cream if you have never been. Also note that its a better to get two scoop than one. read more

My friend who has a summer place in the area highly recommended this place when we visited her last summer. The place was very busy. We had to wait a bit to get a parking spot. Line was long. I think because of the packed place, we didn't think to ask to try the flavors first. So my partner got the sea salt caramel cheesecake ice cream and he absolutely disliked it. It was too salty. I got the jamoca almond fudge and rum and raisin and both were good. We stopped by here again recently and it was not overly busy in September. We asked to try this time. I decided on the maple butter which had a bit of savory taste, maybe it was salted butter? I liked it. We also got the rum and raisin. I'm not really wowed by the ice cream. It's nice but not mind blowing good. I guess maybe it's the best option in Sicamous? You do get lots of flavors here. thickest ice cream ive ever had. idk what they feed their cows here but their milk is FAT. drove 6 hours just to get ice cream here because my friend recommended it: "their ice cream is so good it will clog your arteries" and boy was she right. if you like thick (almost milkshake like) ice cream, i would definitely recommend what takes the cake though is the CHOCOLATE MILK. we brought a cooler to take some home.. yup thats how good it was. only reason it's -1 star is because the ice cream was melting pretty fast (already lowkey kinda melted when i got it) and we realized some of the glass bottles we took home didn't have the label that was the whole point. also you can see their animals (including the cows!) making this a very immersive experience read more

Good ice cream and fast service. However, prices are a bit steep, and samples are not allowed, which is a major con. I tried double Dutch chocolate, mocha almond fudge, raspberry, butter pecan, maple butter, and blueberry. My favorite flavors are those with chocolate, of course :) We thought the ice cream is pretty good but could be creamier, and there needs to be more dark chocolate options. There were chocolate orange and chocolate raspberry flavors, but the chocolate was milk, not dark, which is disappointing, as I think dark chocolate + fruit is the best combination! People rave about Dutchmen Dairy, but having stopped by twice now, I can safely and confidently say that this is a hard pass for me. The lineups for ice cream are shocking - 30 minutes or more at times, and the ice cream is poor. If you've ever experienced a "fancy" small batch ice cream joint and you compare that to Dutchmen, you'll find that Dutchmen ice cream is no better than store bought for a premium price. I admit that for a tourist, the farm, the dairy, and the whole scenario can be interesting and if that is what you are interested in you should check it out, but I would highly recommend skipping the ice cream. I will also say that I do enjoy their chocolate milk, which they sell at the till in glass or plastic bottles (pro tip, you can skip the ice cream line if you are just buying from the shop). read more

They have their own dairy farm, so they do their ice cream with their milk, and they make their own cheese too they have a few dairy products that they make to sell, but my favourite part is eating ice cream and walk arround they have a few animals like a small farm that u can see and u can pet the baby cows!!!! I've stopped here for ice cream basically every year of my life on the way out to Shuswap, because not only is the ice cream plentiful and a welcome treat, they allow you to walk around and visit the cows. However, I think since they've allowed tour busses to stop the allure has just plummeted. For the past 2 years I've pulled off the highway to see multiple busses (who take up all the parking) the place completely packed and overrun, lined up so far out the door that we've decided that it's not worth it. This would be a great place for a stop with kids. You can get some ice cream, see the farm animals and pick up some BC fruit. The dairy part of the ice cream was very good. But they do use artificial flavour in some of the fruit ice creams. I would not recommend the sour cherry flavour as a result. But the chocolate was fine. read more

Creamiest ice cream ever. This is a must-stop place when we drive west. It's a really cute place to stop for a quick break. This is a working farm so you'll see (and smell) cows. Also, there's usually a llama, donkey, and random chickens hanging around. It's usually very busy here in the summer with line ups out the door! However, note that this place is cash only. There are lots of flavours but unfortunately no samples allowed. That's okay though - the line would take even longer if samples were permitted. I'm a big fan of waffle cones but the waffle cones here taste extremely bland and stale (as they probably come out of a box). If they made their own waffle cones, it would definitely elevate the ice cream to another level. Across the street is a small fruit stand where you can balance the ice cream with some Okanagan fruits and veggies. read more

I drove by on my way back to Alberta from kelowna and saw their big sign for ice cream. I didn't need much more convincing than that. However, I was so blown away by the kind staff and quality of ice cream. I tried the double Dutch chocolate. TO DIE FOR. One scoop is plenty but I almost wanted another! The farm is so adorable and very welcoming. They allow you to roam around and visit the cows and calves. Not an experience you get often in the city. I purchased some of triple D's bacon cheddar cheese this weekend at Hopkins Harvest in Windermere. I can't say I'm a huge fan. They use simulated bacon bits and when eating the cheese on its own you can taste the fake bacon flavour. However, when on a cracker, the flavour is mellowed a bit and makes for a better experience. Its been a long time since I've tried their ice cream but looking at the flavours at Hopkins they have some interesting choices which I'll have to give a try. New favourite stop on those long TransCanada drives back to Alberta. The ice cream is really some of the best around. A lot of flavours. Nothing too unique but all very good. A regular is a lot (many adults might just want the kids come). They make them bigger if you so desire. Had a milkshake today. Any ice cream choice except bubble gum. Also if you like chocolate milk they sell 1 litre bottles of very delicious stuff! Drink it there though because it's $3 deposit on the bottle! Poor customer .service. Have many flavors but do not allow samples. Asa result we chose two flavors each; And were very disappointed. Instead of the ice cream being smooth and creamy it felt kind of chalky. My favorite cheese is the white cheddar with Jake's blend seasoning. It is just a little spicy. The chocolate milk is a perfect blend of milk and chocolate. We have stopped at D Dutchmen every time we travel to and from Calgary to visit family and friends because we enjoy the ice cream and the experience of walking around the dairy.. Monday, June 12th on our way home from Calgary we stopped in to have an ice cream after a long drive. My mom and I left without purchasing ice cream because we were treated so rudely by the older woman behind the counter. She could not have been bothered to wait on us. When I asked to have our ice cream in a dish, she gave me a disgusted look and walked away. She didn't give me a chance to ask for a double scoop and when I asked if she could possibly put the ice cream in a larger cup she rolled her eyes and 'huffed'. My husband has Parkinsons and I just wanted a larger cup so that he did not spill his ice cream all over himself due to his tremors. We were treated so rudely! Absolutely no customer service. No welcoming hello when we entered the ice cream shop, no how are you today, no smile, no kind words, no accommodation of our needs. I will not stop here again. We didn't deserve to be treated poorly by this woman who obviously does not like her job. She ruined what could have been a nice ending to our trip and an experience my husband and I wanted to share with my mother who had never been to D Dutchmen. We instead left dissatisfied, angry, and upset. We then drove to Enderby where we stopped for ice cream and were treated with respect, kindness, and absolutely wonderful customer service by 3 young ladies. I would not recommend D Dutchmen because of the poor customer service we received. Do not stop here. Instead drive a little ways further to Enderby at their local ice cream and pizza shop.
