When Doug, the owner of Southfork Tree and Landscaping, came out to discuss the work I wanted done,…read morehe was down-to-earth, and I was encouraged by what he said about "doing extra" and making sure no mess is left behind. He explained what he'd do, gave me a verbal quote (it was a lot, but I had asked for a lot, and it didn't seem higher than it should be), took a few days to write it up, and returned with a written quote to review. While he hadn't captured our entire conversation on the quote, our continued discussion made me feel comfortable enough to proceed. I was not disappointed. He and his crew cut down a 50- to 60-foot hedge, ground it so it wouldn't return, trimmed up some trees, cut back and cleaned out some other bushes, cleaned up growth along my fence line, removed some landscaping stone (a lot more than either of us expected, as there was a ton in the hedge), removed a whiskey barrel planter, and told me how to take care of my mom's 55-year-old rose bush. The crew worked so hard, and the result was perfect. He added no charges for the surprise landscaping stone, and I was thankful. I recommend Southfork Tree, especially because Doug is hands-on. It's not one guy giving you a quote and hiring some other guys to do the work without supervision. You don't have to wonder if everything was communicated, because he's there, working the whole time. If he has questions, he asks. He doesn't assume. If you have questions, he's there to answer them. He makes sure it looks great. Because I know some companies use foreign companies or AI to write bogus reviews, I want to say this work was done in August 2026 on Peachwood Trail in South St. Louis County in St. Louis, Mo. (Oakville to be specific).

They were successful in removing the gigantic dead limb from a separate tree that loomed over the carport, as well as getting rid of shrubbery roots underneath so I could build my fence. They were kind enough to haul away all of the yard waste, but left me some good cut wood to burn in my fire pit. All of this hard work was done within just a couple weeks after I reached out during a busy holiday season, and at a very reasonable price. I will definitely use Southfork Tree next time I need some help.

We signed a contract with this company to repair our outdoor lighting after the May 16th tornado…read more Unfortunately, it has been a comedy of errors over the past few months and the issue is still unresolved. Despite multiple notices to pay an outstanding balance, our outdoor lighting still doesn't work. The company essentially installed an entirely new system, leaving our old lighting in disarray. While I was initially fine with this, the new system has never functioned properly. I've worked with Adam and have asked him seven times to come out and fix the problem, but there has been no resolution. At this point, I'm exhausted and simply want the product removed--I certainly don't want to pay $3,000 for something that doesn't work. I've also requested to speak with the owner but have yet to receive a call. Please be cautious if you're considering this company for your lighting needs. Ironically, their fencing division was fantastic--they repaired our fence perfectly with no issues. However, the lighting division has been a complete mess, and I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for outdoor lighting services.

Do not use this service. Last summer, we questioned the grass cutter about an area of the yard that…read morelooked uneven and asked for it to be gone over. The grass was cut, I was happy with the service, and I continued my service until the fall. This year when I called to resume service ( for the 3rd year), I was told they might not be able to provide service because they could not get my grass "as low as I would like it". I spoke with the owner Kristen last Thursday and told her I didn't mind the height so she agreed to come out and cut the grass on Mon or Tues. On today, Tuesday, I was called and told they would not provide service because they were questioned about the grass that one time. This obviously did not make sense, so when questioned about it Kristen gave the excuse that the guy who cuts grass for was "offended" when asked to go over part of the yard that looked uneven. As the paying customer, I thought that was my right to question services I receive. Also, she waited until the last minute to notify me when I could have set up services with someone else. One critique of the yard, which was resolved over a year ago, now I'm being refused service. This makes me feel this decision was racially motivated. This service is unprofessional and the grass cutters are unable to take constructive criticism. You better not question them for the service you pay for or they will refuse to cut your yard. Beware.

Jeff called me the morning of the removal to let me know that they were coming and that no one needed to be there while they were working. I got home from work that afternoon to discover the tree completely gone and all of the mess cleaned up. Looking at the yard, other than some sawdust, you would never know that they had been there because all of the limbs were completely gone. There was also nothing in the driveway or the front of the house to indicate that there had been a tree removal that day. They also left an inch thick disk of wood that had been cut out of a tree branch on my daughters sand table. This was a very sweet touch and we are going to turn it into keepsake since this will be our first Christmas at the house.
