A week later I found out my dads cancer was back and we needed to move up the wedding ceremony as he was not going to make it to the wedding date. Diane not only got my dress ready in time, she also hand delivered it to my house! Afterwards she hand washed it and altered it in time for the originally scheduled ceremony. She was always hold a special place in my heart because I was able to wear my dress before my dad passed. I am so happy I got the memories with him as he didn't make it to second ceremony. I can't tell you how surprised and thrilled I was at this place! It's completely unsuspecting- from the outside you would barely know it's there- and the inside is a little bit of chaos; but the customer service- outstanding. The dresses? Amazingly beautiful. I was fortunate enough to find my dress pretty much off the rack, and it is the most comfortable, lovely, simple, perfect dress I could ever ask for. I was even surprised it was so perfect!!! I knew I was going to find my dress at D'Angelo's immediately after speaking to the owner/designer, Diane, to book an appointment. When I called she was very friendly and even gave me directions to other bridal salons (with no competitiveness at all) which was a refreshing after calling many bridal salons and having a consultant answer with obviously fake enthusiasm. I must admit when I entered the store I was slightly underwhelmed, it was not quite as "posh" as some of the other stores I had visited, but the consultant Reva proved me wrong! After about a 2 minute interview Reva said she knew exactly what I needed and pulled me 6 gowns within about 3 minutes. I had already tried on about 20 gowns elsewhere and had yet to be "wowed" but the first dress I tried on D'angelos brought my mother, sister and I to tears, and so did the second, and the third, and the fourth. Reva IMMEDIATELY understood what I was looking for and was so accommodating. Any positive or negative traits I mentioned concerning a dress were noted, and taken into account with the next dress selection. I felt completely comfortable handing myself over to her. I FOUND MY DRESS! And, it it perfect, it checks off every box on the list and I am even having a few pieces customized to make it uniquely mine. Reva assured me that Diane would be able to work within my budget to get me my dream dress and she delivered. To end the day, Reva even let my mother and sister each try on a dress so we could get the iconic friends picture from "The one with all the Wedding Dresses". I'll try to make this quick. Diane gave me everything that my momzilla and I requested for my dress. I want a high neck with lace, a skirt, somewhat do a capped sleeve, fitted along the hips and tourso...sometimes they had push back, but at the end of the day, they gave me everything that I desired. Making appointments was easy, payments were easy, fittings were easy. Diane and my mom had similar "New Yorker" personalities and I was worried that they'd bump heads, however, Diane is truly an expert and gets it done with quality and in a timely fashion. PERFECT for redesigning your Mothers Dress for your own!!!! I had a wonderful experience at D'Angelo Couture Bridal for my beach wedding dress! I met Diane at the San Diego Bridal Show and was so very happy to learn that she wasn't just the owner of a bridal shop, but that she herself was a designer. I had a dream of incorporating my mothers wedding dress into mine (the very most pieces that I possibly could) and Diane had told me she has done the same many times before! I had an appointment where we brought in my mothers dress and looked at it and then decided for my beach wedding that I would get a basic lace dress and we would add every piece that we could from my mothers dress onto the lace one. I really wanted to be as involved as I could and I was very protective over not letting my mothers dress or lace out of my sight. Diane empowered me to seam rip all of the lace off the dress myself and to sew it on myself with clear thread as well. I paid for the dress in full and was able to take it home and work on it at night while watching TV. I even ended up using my mothers headpiece and veil as well and was able to add the lace from the trim of my mothers train to the trim of my dress as well as on the trim of the veil so everything fit together quite nicely! In all, I used the entire bust area of my mothers dress for the bust of mine, the back lace for the back of mine, a small emblem just at the knees on the front of the dress exactly where it was on hers and then I glued on as many pearls as I could as well in the bust area. During my last fitting they worked with me on making it as tight as I wanted and putting a bustle in as well. Thank you Diane and your staff for all of your help! If you are looking for someone to make a dress that you like versus finding the perfect dress, this is a good option. I would not recommend going here as an event with your bridal party, etc. Also keep away if you are not a fan of dogs, the owner has a lovely poodle that is off leash in the small space. read more

From the minute my sister and I walked in, we were immediately greeted by Diane (the owner). She was entertaining and very friendly. She sat and listened to what my sister wanted in her dress and wrote everything down and even gave my sister her own twist. My sister consultant was Christine. She was wonderful! She was very knowledgeable in all the dresses in the store and what would look fantastic on my sister. There were NO rules to follow (like David's Bridal) and I was able to pull dresses of the rack to have my sister try on. They would even work with you budget AND provide teacher and military discounts! The location is conveniently located on the 8 W freeway in Mission Valley. The minus one star is because they didn't have any refreshments of any sort. Sitting there for almost 2 hours, kind of sucked with no places around to buy a drink! This place is pretty perfect in my mind. I found it by attempting to go to the discount bridal place in the same parking lot and stumbled upon D'Angelo. I'm so happy I did. I went in and found a room full of dresses that were totally my style and I looked at the price tags and everything felt very reasonable. I am a very price aware bride so knowing I could get a gown within my budget ($1500) was amazing. Some other stores I've been too only had 2 dresses that were in my price range, like I was out of my mind for wanting to spend less than $2K on a dress! I tried on a dress that was amazing for $700 and I admired a hand made dress that was closer to $3000 but nothing felt really untouchable to me. I ended up buying a gown that is just perfect for me. I would tell you more about it, but my fiance is also on Yelp! Connie, Megan, Nicole & Diane have all been super helpful thus far. Between my measurements, trying on the dresses on multiple occasions, creating a private amazing experience for shopping & for design inspiration. Connie helped me with my initial appointment where I found my "almost" dream dress. Everything about it was perfect except a few tweaks I wanted to change about it. Diane did these changes with no hesitation! She was amazing! One week before the wedding I went to try it on and something wasn't right with the fit. Diane spent 45 min. sewing (quilting) the small detail lace onto the underlay so parts of the dress would lay perfect on my body. I was completely obsessed with my dress to say the least and everyone at the wedding loved it it. The extra things I had Diane change: Cutting out the back so it went lower and was more rounded. Added some lace to make the straps a bit thicker under my arms (so it would hold tighter and wouldn't bunch Diane takes charge and knows what she is doing. I seriously LOVE this place! To be honest, I was dreading going into a dress shop; I don't enjoy shopping and I hate when I can't look around a store without a sales person stalking me. I was happily surprised that I was able to browse around the store without someone trailing behind me. Diane and her team were super helpful and they do take appointments if you'd like to have a more personal experience while shopping. They have a huge selection of gorgeous Wedding Dresses, Brides Maid Dresses, Accessories, and handmade Vails. Updating my review now that my wedding has come and gone- I have to take away 2 stars because of issues with the final product and delivery. I'm still giving 3 because Christine (Diane's assistant) tried very hard to ease my anxiety and make the situation better. So what went wrong? I didn't receive my dress until 8 p.m. THE NIGHT BEFORE MY WEDDING and it was a nightmare dealing with the alterations the days leading up to my big day. I had sleeves added to my dress. This was discussed at length the day I ordered and paid in full for the dress. I was told on 4 different occasions that the extra lace for my sleeves would be ordered. 1st when they ordered my dress in January, 2nd when the dress arrived in late August, 3rd at my 2nd fitting to measure my arms for the sleeves and once again 3 days before my wedding. The lace arrived the DAY BEFORE my wedding. I'm not surprised that the final product wasn't great because they had to rush to sew the sleeves on and the owner was sick. Because I had already driven to the shop twice that day they offered to deliver the dress to me which was nice but I didn't get it until 8 p.m. One of my bridesmaids ended up having to pick up a mini sewing kit to trim excess thread, fix the loose lace appliques and stitch the wrists because they were way too big. I really wanted to love this bridal shop and all the ladies who helped me but I cannot lie about my experience. I recommend following up constantly for any alterations you have done at this shop. read more

This is where I found my wedding dress, this was exactly the type of dress boutique shop that I hoped I would find it in, and Diane and her team absolutely brought to life all that I hoped for with the experience up until the big day. After searching all over San Diego, this was one of the last spots I discovered and am so happy I did. All the dresses here are gorgeous and have beautiful details and quality. Diane has a great eye for helping make special customizations as well, she helped me add pieces of lace to the back of the dress, add lace to the straps to form elegant short sleeves, and helped me adjust lace on the veil so everything pulled together nicely. This was my first time at a bridal shop and I'm not gonna lie, I was a bit intimidated going in. I made an appointment and my mom and fiance came with me. Immediately after checking in, Naomi greeted us and began asking questions about my and the wedding itself. She never asked my size because she is clearly a magician, everything she selected for me fit! Naomi answered all of my questions, providing countless tips and suggestions, even a fan to cool down (those dresses can get hot!). I walked into D'Angelo Couture to find a simple but classy dress for my wedding in Hawaii. I came in with a few photographs of what I had envisioned. Diane, the owner assured me that she could replicate the dress I wanted. I was given a price which consistently changed through this horrible process. I was told I would be called in for an appointment in 2 weeks for measurements and 1st fitting. That never happened. After numerous calls and attempts to get in touch with Diane, I finally got an appointment... 1 week before I had to leave! Diane assured me that she was a high fashion designer, seamstress and professional. I trusted her. After all, she knew this was the most important day of my life. Unfortunately Diane fell far short of my reasonable expectations. The dress was unwearable. Yellow. Poorly sewn together. It was given to me in a white garbage bag.... the night before I was to leave!!! I left the shop in tears. Thankfully I was able to get a dress to get married in. Diane was paid in full and never offered or agreed to a discount for the faulty product she delivered. We took Diane to court and won! The judge ruled 100% in our favor after seeing the dress that Diane delivered. Diane still has not accepted any responsibility or accountability. To the contrary, she has not paid the judgment. This is the first review I've ever written. Sad to say how unsatisfactory and disappointing this experience has been. read more

I cannot thank D'Angelo Couture Bridal for everything they have done for me. I am a notorious procrastinator, and I waited until the very last minute to find a wedding dress. My husband and I were traveling to Wisconsin for our wedding, and I came in only the week before. I was so nervous that I wasn't going to be able to find something that I liked- let alone get it altered in the time that I had left myself. I was running out of options. When I came into the store- I explained my situation, and the associates got to work helping me at once. I got to try on a variety of dresses in all price ranges, and then narrow down to the ones that I could afford. I was worried about alterations- but the amazing seamstress was able to finish my order in time. Everyone that I worked with was extremely helpful, and I walked away with my dress less than a week later absolutely loving it! Having just moved to San Diego and already purchased my dress in Chicago- I had no idea where to even begin the process of finding a reliable seamstress for my wedding dress alterations. Thank goodness the boutique in Chicago recommended Diane to me! I called and set up an appointment with Laila and got in very quickly. I was really nervous because I knew I was going to need to have a lot of work done and was expecting to be told that It would be really expensive. Immediately after meeting Laila, she reassured me that the alterations would not be difficult and that we had more than enough time. She was the absolute sweetest and I knew that my dress was in excellent hands. The next appointment I showed up at Diane came and told me I had a reputation for being a kind bride and that she appreciated my kindness and as a way to show that wanted to give me two blue pearls to sew into my dress for my "something blue". I was blown away. Kindness never goes unnoticed. In the end I am even more in love with my dress than the day I bought it. Laila and Diane made the scary experience a great one! I HIGHLY recommend visiting D'Angelo Couture for your bridal needs. Due to Covid I threw together a very last minute elopement ceremony. I found a cute little white dress but I didn't feel very bridal, I needed some accessorizing. I called all around but every wedding dress/accessory venue needed 6-8 weeks to order veils, belts, etc. from the manufacturer. I called D'Angelos and spoke with Diane who told me she IS the manufacturer and could provide me with any accessories I needed on the day I walked into her shop. Overjoyed, I ran over and showed her my dress. She immediately brought out multiple veil and belt options that I could take home with me that day! Not only did she have some beautiful products, she sewed my belt right then and there while we chatted. I was in and out within an hour. First off, I have to admit that I understand some of the poor reviews as my experience at D'Angelo's definitely had its high's and low's... Some of the staff isn't the friendliest, and this isn't the type of place where everyone will be lavishly pampering you at all times. However, do not let that deter you because the owner, Diane, is incredible and out of this world talented when it comes to wedding dresses! I purchased my dress from here, and after a fiasco with one of the freelance seamstresses, I thought my dress was ruined. The draping on the front looked awful, and the dress was suffocatingly tight (she did an excellent job on resizing it though by taking it from a size 14 to a size 4 in just a few weeks!). In full panic mode, my mom and I show up at the store unannounced with dress in hand. We barged into Diane's office and started talking a million miles a minute, freaking out because we were convinced my dress was in ruins and my wedding was only 7 days away! Diane immediately put us at ease and said that she could fix it (this was also the first time that I had ever met her BTW). As luck would have it, she's a pro at drapery which apparently is not a typical trait for seamstresses to have (hence why my original seamstress botched it). Diane literally dropped everything, and for the next 4+ hours, she painstakingly hand sewed the pleating on the front of my dress with me wearing it to ensure it would lay properly. She also figured out why the dress was so tight. The large cups the original seamstress added took up too much space and caused me to spill out of the top (not a look I was going for on my big day!). Diane replaced them with handmade, silk-covered pillow cups she created for me on the spot which was much more comfortable and my dress then fit like a charm. When we first got there that day, we were fully expecting that I would have to find and buy a brand new dress. Diane could have easily taken advantage of us in our vulnerable state, but instead, she went above and beyond our expectations and did not charge us a dime for all of her hard work. Her honesty and skill were undoubtedly more significant than any level of customer service I could've ever received. read more

After reading some bad reviews I was avoiding this place but ended up going because of the huge sale they're having! I was very nervous because I didn't want anyone making me feel bad or anything. But from the first time I went I felt nothing but the venter or attention. Naomi helped me try on dresses that were what I was looking for and kept it under my budget! She never showed me anything over my budget unless I asked her to. She didn't bother to show me something that I would not buy. I love how she respected my budget and my vision. I had found a very high potential on Sunday and went back today to try it on again with a full face and girl somewhat done. I went and to my damn bad luck! The dress had been sold the day before and I was devastated!!! At this point I was really bummed and didn't really have the energy to even try on other dresses. My girls however were there to support me and turn it around! They cheered me up and encouraged me to just try other stuff on. I needed up picking others that I liked. The dress I chose not to try on ended up being my dress!!! Naomi asked if I could try it and I gave it a try! I ended up saying yes and am very happy!! Naomi is LITERALLY the best! She treats you like a human being and is very honest. If you like people sugar coating stuff this is not the place for you. Worst customer service!! Went In to try some wedding gowns (not engaged yet) to see what I would love to buy. As soon as I walked in the people there noticed I wasn't wearing a ring so they totally blew me off, I let that one go. When I started trying out some dresses some mean lady straight up comes up to me and said "you shouldn't be trying on a size 6 dress you look like a 18". They did not take my measurements or anything! Don't tell me my size!!! Especially if you haven't taken my measurements! Took my business else where and bought a beautiful dress that I got married in. Don't make people feel bad about their body when you haven't even measured them or helped them with their needs. Diane made my dream dress! I fell in love with the top of a beautiful beaded dress but the circle skirt was not right for my body type (I'm 5 ft. tall and petite). Diane transformed the dress to fit me perfectly (modified A line). Essentially, I was able to get a custom dress for the price of an off the rack dress, saving me thousands of dollars. I was able to keep all the parts of the original dress that I loved (the trim and beading). The final dress was even more beautiful than I imagined. Ok, so I first started to write a long a*s review about all the amazing details of this place, their dresses, and Noemi and Dianne. But let's be real, y'all don't wanna read a novel. The prices here are great, the designs are beautiful, unique, and actually COMFORTABLE (If you've already started trying dresses on, you know in some of them it feels like a workout to walk around!) and what really stands out and makes this place special, is the attention and love they give to their brides. Noemi was THE BEST consultant I experienced after going to 5 other stores. Diane is incredible and takes such pride in her work, she really wants to ensure her brides leave happy and excited to wear her designs. My dress is going to get in next month and I CANNOT WAIT!! I love this boutique! I was really nervous about going because I had gone into David's Bridal and it took 2 hours to try on 3 dresses. And they had NOTHING in my price range. I walked into this bridal store and I told the woman what I was looking for and it was literally the second dress I tried on. I fell in love. The best part? The dress was only 480 dollars! The dress I tried on and sort of liked at DB was 700! And it did not even compare to the dress I got. I have recommended this store to another friend and she found her dress there too. I have no idea how this place has high reviews. This bridal salon was probably my worst experience as a bride. It started off promising, as they carried the dress I had found online. The sample fit perfectly, but when the dress came it was not the same fit and the alteration process was a disaster. The seamstress, Laila, was very rude and rushed me through the whole process, she would offer alternative suggestions that were counter to what I would have wanted, i.e. "just tape the dress" as opposed to doing what I would gladly pay for, altering it to fit my body. I allowed her to alter my dress, but she took the waist out when i specifically told her not to. I went to go pick up my dress because I was so angry she did something I didn't want, and I come to find my dress was at her house and she was on vacation with no way for me to retrieve the dress I had paid for. I finally got my dress after much stress and toil, and the waist was back to normal and her and the owner both claimed she "never" took out the waist when the dress clearly fit differently. More than anything, I felt lied to, and completely taken advantage of. At the end of the day, the dress was fine, I took it somewhere else to alter it and it ended up ok. But I felt so uneasy and so shady through the whole process. I felt so disrespected and not cared for, and that is so sad as this is the one time in my life where I get to be a bride. I would suggest going to more upscale bridal boutiques, ones that actually care about you as a customer and who are not shady in their business dealings. Do not expect to be greeted with champaign, fawned over, or feel like a bride. This is a place where you come in, try on dresses, thats it. Its as bare bones, service wise, as it gets. This is the one experience while planning a wedding that made me cry. The stress, the unkindness and the lack of hospitality really lent this to being the worst experience of getting married. OMG!!! So I went shopping with my aunt to find the bridal gown of her dreams. First we went to David's bridal and the sales representative was a bit.... -_-...... then we were referred to D'Angelo 's Couture Bridal by a friend and my gosh. When we walked through the door, Naomi, the consultant was just amazing. To be honest, the amount of patience that she had, I could never do it. After hours of searching, my aunt finally found her dress! Not to mention, we laughed the entire time. It's hard to laugh during a serious or stressful time such as preparing for a wedding. I had such a good time, somebody please invite me to their wedding so that I can do it all again!! As for Naomi, keep doing what you're doing, you go girl!! I am so happy that I found this place!!! I have been to so many places throughout the city and couldn't even find one dress that I liked. However, my first day of trying on dresses at D'angelo Couture Bridal I found about 6 or 7 dresses I was in love with. The dresses are so unique and beautiful from any others I've seen in the city. Diane is so talented and passionate in creating her dresses, they are stunning and comfortable (which is so important if you're wearing it all day). A terrible experience! We made an appointment after we met Diane at the bridal bizarre. When we arrived at the appt they acted like it was not on the calendar but they took me anyway! The woman who was my consultant, I think Connie was her name. She was less than helpful. I told her I had a $1500 budget and every time my mom selected a dress that was below that price she didn't want me to try it on. She also offered me done which late wine and when I declined but said my mom and sister would like some, she said "let's not go there!" She didn't help me try dresses on and didn't have anything to clip the larger dresses on with. I had to walk around the store holding my dress up. The whole time I was there Diane was walking around talking about an appt she was waiting for as if it was so much more important than mine. The consultant kept disappearing and once I was looking for her and she was outside on her cell. Another consultant came to help once I asked her to find me something different but she was also helping her clients. I scheduled another appt for May, which was a few months after my first appt. I called today to cancel my appt and they had no record of it, which is untrue because I have an email confirmation. This was a truly disappointing experience and my first wedding dress appt at that!
