The dude that runs the joint is a total asshole!…read more Secondly, it's kind of hard to sell instruments when you will not let people play them with a "pick"! You can strum a stringed instrument with your thumb... but you will not get the tone desired!! I asked the gentleman if I could use a pick on the instrument, he said no! I told him it was not the correct way to play the instrument , without a pick ! He quickly replied "I do it all the time!" What a smart ass! I understand his side of the coin!! As a store owner, he doesn't want a bunch of kids and yahoos coming in and scratching up instruments! I understand 100%! But, I really was interested in the mandolin and wanted to buy it!! Since he would not let me use a pick and correctly try out the mandolin.. I had to walk away! That was $1000 sale he missed out on! I would not recommend anyone going here unless they're interested in a cheap guitar and dealing with a smart ass! I still do not know what the tone of the mandolin truly sounded like!!

I recently brought in two electric guitars for some repair work and Bevan had the guitars ready to go by the next day. Bevan took the time to explain the repair work and what was changed on each guitar. Most importantly, they both sound fantastic and play like butter now. After going through the repair work, Bevan brought out a few of his hand made guitars. It is easy to see he puts his heart and soul into his craft. Clearly he knows what he is doing and for the price paid, I left knowing the work done was as professional as it gets. Great to know that Summit county has a legitimate luthier. I will definitely be going back to Big Hollow Guitars for future work!
