It's smog check up the road, and so I needed to drive it about 50 miles or so to "reset the car's computer, " before it would pass . I decided to stop here for an oil change before I did that, as the car was way overdue. I was helped by Mike. He's helped me before, he's always thorough, friendly, and helpful. He got me checked in, he told me the different options for an oil change, and I told him which one I wanted. They did the oil change, and I was out in about 15 to 20 minutes. The price was extremely reasonable. Everything was great. Before I left, on the side, I happened to mention that I had needed the oil change because of the smog check. He said, oh, before you take the car back to the smog shop, stop in here, we will do a pretest to make sure you drove enough to reset the computer. I said, no charge? Nope That was nice of him. I drove 45 miles "up the hill" to Pollock Pines, to look at all of the pretty new snow. I came back, it took less than five minutes to do the pretest, and he told me, "green lights all the way." I took the car back to the smog shop and passed with flying colors. As I mentioned, I've always gotten great service here at Danny's. Thank you, Mike, for taking that extra step for me. I truly appreciate it. I will be back.

If you look at the rare 1 star reviews, there are numerous inconsistencies, versus the numerous 5 stars in addition to the transparency provided by this shop. Today, I requested a diagnostic of a specific issue. I was already aware of what it "could" be and Danny took the time to show me what the issue was...a wheel bearing. it can be nice when the customer and the business end up on the same page. Sometimes that doesn't happen. Customers really should understand how the process works and how a business is run before getting "triggered". Always competitive pricing and this shop can do it all. Excellent customer service and they have an excellent shuttle service as well!

I used Yelp to put a blanket request for the Sacramento area, and Stress Free Auto reached out right away! I was able to take my car in first thing the next morning and was greeted in such a friendly and warm way. Knowing they had a few jobs ahead of me, they called a niiiice Lyft and made sure I got home free of charge! From there the communication was excellent. There were continual texts that provided information about their progress not only with searching for the main problem, but also a general overall inspection of my vehicle. Once complete they sent me an estimate, I called to coordinate which things I wanted repaired/addressed, and they sent over a finalized quote that I signed immediately. It was quick, informative, and quite literally stress free The main problem was a cracked exhaust manifold. Seems like an extensive repair, right? Well, they let me know later that afternoon that they were done! Amazing same day service! Absolutely incredible. It's been a month since the repair and I haven't had any issues. So, in my book, that's a job well done! The only small gripe I have is the cost. Again, it was same day service, so it's understandable that I might have paid more than I would have at another local shop, but they did offer a discount on the initial inspection cost. Some other shops roll the inspection cost into the cost of repairs, but unfortunately Stress Free doesn't do that. Plus, a couple of suggested repairs were somewhat of a laughable cost. If memory serves, they quoted me around $60 to replace wipers. I'm not sure if it was a quote for all 3, or just one, but I spent $15 on a wiper on the way home and installed it myself. Whatever, they are trying to make money! Despite my small price gripe, I will be using Stress Free in the future for any vehicle concerns I have!

Prices were much more reasonable in comparison to dealership. I was informed of the costs prior to any work being done. This is my second time trusting stress free auto with my car. They did a wonderful job on my break repair service last year. I was kept updated and informed of their work progress. I would encourage them to continue with the updated communication to customers as it does help ease your mind. I would recommend this business.

More often than not it's a 45 minute excursion in which they try to sell you a $50 air filter you can get for $10 and literally install in 30 seconds yourself, $20 for a fuel additive, $35 to rotate your tires, etc. all that is expensive but "normal" -- the real thing that gets me is time. Don't go if you don't have at least an hour of free time to wait.

When I push back, they tell me they don't even buy the oil needed for the conventional oil change (I've gone twice and this happened, my brother also said this happened to him). I've never had this problem at another Meineke before. I used to go to the one in Roseville but it unfortunately closed. Also, if you don't check, they will automatically give you the full synthetic oil change (the most expensive) so if you're going to go make sure to specify and check the paper order before you sign it. The staff might be friendly but the place is disgusting. The chairs are barely sittable in the lobby, its a couple chairs and a thin, small metal bench, and it looks like it's never been cleaned. When I asked to use the bathroom it was filthy in there, I ended up not using it because I was so grossed out. This location is very convenient and I'd love to go but it's just too awful. Honestly, it's the worst place I've had my oil changed at.

Destroyed My Engine…read more I went to this Valvoline Express Care on 11/27/2024, for a routine oil change (Invoice #2627590). What should have been a simple service turned into a complete nightmare. After the oil change, I drove for about 20 minutes and stopped to check the oil level. To my shock, the dipstick showed NO oil at all. I immediately returned to the store, and the staff confirmed that there was no oil in the engine. The manager, Frank Stevens, topped it off but made ridiculous excuses, such as claiming the dipstick on my Honda Civic is hard to read (which is nonsense). Another employee even asked if they should drain the oil, and someone else replied that there was nothing to drain because no oil had been added! Due to their negligence, my engine has suffered severe damage. My mechanic has confirmed that the engine now needs to be either rebuilt or replaced, along with labor costs. When I brought this up to the manager, he offered me a laughable $15 discount on a future oil change--as if I would ever trust them again! This store's incompetence has destroyed my car, and I will be suing them to recover the damages. Avoid this place at all costs if you care about your vehicle.

Having lived in the Sacramento area for 6 years, I am convinced that this is one of those rare businesses where you quickly catch on to the fact that you will be treated like family, even if you arrive with mud on your windshield and the weight of the world on your shoulders. Rob is a remarkable human, Luis has worked a bit of magic on parts of my vehicle that had me befuddled, and the staff at the check-out counter are ready with a smile before I can even hand them my ticket. I paid $215 + 20% tip for a wash, leather seat conditioning, and exterior hand wax. My car was with them for less than an hour and I was disappointed to find that the driver's side door jamb was still dirty -- not at all wiped down, and there were multiple places all over the exterior that were still dirty, let alone not waxed. I didn't expect a full detail, car but I did expect that time and care would be taken to provide a thorough service. I'm bummed!
