Recently I was having trouble with my truck's transmission. It was causing my truck to be sluggish during acceleration. Regardless of the issues I could not get anyone to answer my cries for help on the normal online forums. Maybe the symptoms were something folks have never experienced? Regardless, I have an aftermarket transmission which makes me nervous about going to the dodge dealership. I noticed positive reactions on Yelp for D&D Transmissions and decided to try them out.
I noticed that D & D does much more than just transmissions. The owner was very respectful of my worries and my controlling attitude. I normally like to do work on my vehicle. But due to my living conditions I cannot do this type of work. I came to him with an idea I had a failing governor solenoid. The owner quoted me over the phone for the work before he even had time to look at my vehicle.
I dropped it off and he did some quick diagnostics, called me back before doing the work, and then proceeded to follow my wishes. His quote was decent at $400. This included replacing the governor solenoid, governor sensor, fluid, and the transmission filter. Just the cost of parts would be between 200 and 300 dollars. The job was completed within a decent time frame and they accept all major credit cards.
After all the details above, I recommend D&D Transmissions. Although I have only one experience with the repair shop, I will be going back with any vehicle issues. It is difficult to find trustworthy auto shops around this area. Most are mainstream "chain" repair shops with people that don't care a lot about the work they do. D&D clearly has an owner who is caring and takes pride in his work. read more
