Boyson Row - 442 442 N 18th Ave…read moreHiawatha, IA 52233 Property Mgt lacks to keep their outdoor trash dumpster area ( Clean) No real landscaping care. The Resident Mobile App. Useless for communication about concerns. They only concerned to convince you to move in get your Money and they are invisible afterwards. Owners need to choose better Property Management Companies. If you break your lease ; penalty two months of rent. Illegal in other states but Iowa guess it's fair business practice, but you won't know that legal forced acceptance to that part until you're signing for keys to move in. You don't have a say in them raising the rent after one year ! If you don't renew lease they charge extra per month with regular rent Month to Month fees. Business practices are questionable but you don't find any of this out until lease signing. All units older are lower by $300 a month ; so new remodels are $1250 Office seems a bit disorganized and not everyone in the " know" . Duties of whose actually Managerial Staff confusing. This company should be upfront about their sneaky wrap you into a legal contract by cohesion methods of waiting until lease signing. https://www.trulia.com/c/ia/hiawatha/boyson-row-442-442-n-18th-ave-hiawatha-ia-52233--2586037097

Affinity Property Management is the most fraudulent and dishonest organization I have ever…read moreencountered! When I moved out, I spent a day making sure the place was perfectly clean. I cleaned windows inside and out, walls, oven, and everything. Then I bought paint (the same kind they use) and touched up the paint, re-painted kitchen cupboards, etc. I made sure everything was in top shape. There were no blinds hen I moved in and the closet door was off its track when I moved in (a 5 minute fix for maintenance). Other than that, I went the extra mile with cleaning and painting which they charged me $900 for! I was sick to my stomach when I saw that they gave me fraudulent charges of $150 to clean, and $650 for paint and repairs. Needless to say, they did not actually repaint or clean. They ripped me off for $900 in fake charges. Taking them to small claims court. Shame on them! Don't rent from them! I called but was manually sent to voicemail and then they would not answer the next few times. I left message. They know they are in the wrong.

His particular apartment has everything ORIGINAL from 22 years ago when the property was built. He has a non-working stove that he literally reported three months ago to the new management. My fiancé has left several voicemails and also a note with no response. Buyer beware. The previous manager Dawn was absolutely fantastic and a phenomenal communicator! Any issue that my fiancé had was fixed that day or the very next morning.

I moved out roughly 2 months ago. My overall stay wasn't the best but the moveout process was…read moreicing on the cake. The management, JASMINE, is a joke. I will talk about her later. To start off, when I moved in a year and a half ago, they "forgot" to clean/shampoo my carpet before I moved in. So they said they would have somebody come in (after all of my furniture and stuff was moved in and occupying most of the space) and clean my apt since the previous renters were smokers. If I could attach a picture of the refrigerator when I moved in I would to show how disgusting it was. Also, when I moved in I noticed when I ran the dishwasher, the dishes actually came out MORE dirty than when I put them in(all dishwashers in complex are about 20 years old). I put in a maintenance call and they came and said everything 'worked great'. After two more calls about the dishwasher, I finally gave up and handwashed for the remaining year. Before I moved out (got a new job), I gave 45 days notice because I wanted to be as fair as possible. They informed me of the process and I started to clean. I have lived in 5 different apartment/duplex buildings in my life with college and being new out of college; I have NEVER lost ANY of my prior deposits as I come from a home where you have to keep everything SPOTLESS. Since I was unable to be there during the checkout process (because the Management, Jasmine, refused to do any checkouts during the weekend)I had to forfeit my walk-through rights. I wasn't too worried about it at the time because I knew how clean I had made it. UNTIL I received my bill. THEY CHARGED ME $200 FOR EXCESSIVE HOLES AND PAINTING THAT NEEDED TO BE DONE. Not to be rude but that is COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS!!! The last, but definately not the least, most important topic I want to let you know about is the management. When I first moved in, the complex was ran by a nice elderly couple who had worked their for years. The wife was retiring and that is where JASMINE (aka worst property manager ever) comes into the picture. If JASMINE spent half as much time cleaning up the place and working on the property, as she does TRYING to make herself look "sexy", woodcrest might go back to being a nice place to live. All JASMINE cares about is making sure she looks good and making sure all tenants know that she is the boss. She comes from the south, and I guess in the south its okay to RIP PEOPLE OFF WHEN THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. Whatta piece of work. What do you think was her first order of business when she got there??? You guessed it, RAISING THE RENT. I would rather poke my eyes out than rent from her again. She's lucky not many people check up on her management style or customer approval rating because she is horrible. If anybody wants to hear more, you can reach me at 660-651-6052.
