We recently relocated to the area and were looking for a specialty meat shop. This one fits the…read morebill very well, based on our first visit. We made a small purchase, two delmonico steaks and some country sausage. Pricing is totally in line with the major regional supermarket chains, but our impression is that quality is much better here at D&D, We grilled the steaks tonight and they were SOOOOOO good. They were actually better than the same cut and size we recently received at a chain steak house in the area just last week. Even though the cuts and amounts were essentially the same, the restaurant sliced it thin (1/4") so it covered more real estate on the dinner plate. Our "rare" steaks actually came out well done (brown through and through and warm in the middle--they were tender and OK so we didn't fuss and "send them back"). The D&D steaks were cut thicker, ~1/2", so we actually were able to burn just the outside and the middle was truly "rare," as in red, cool center. Thus, much better outcome for what supposedly was intended to be the same. We can't wait to try the country sausage we got at D&D. Most definitely, we will be back for more, and will try the baby back ribs and other offerings.

It was moist and flavorful with the occasional "crunchy" bit of BBQ sauce. Big hand pulled chunks of Breast meat served alongside a potato roll accompanied with extra BBQ sauce. Enough meat to create 2 sandwiches. BBQ sauce was thick and both sweet/savory. Staff at the Food Truck were friendly and efficient. The ambiance was provided by the busyness of the Lucketts Fall 2024 fair. Clean tables under a tent with live music on a pretty fall day. If you ever attend an outside event and Billy's is there - please try. We can't wait until our next time.

We walked in and found this farmer's market with the delightful, little hole-in-the-wall, Cider Press restaurant, in the back of the store. The farmers market section up front is small but full of beautiful, fresh produce along with many, many other things and especially, pies that are to die for. The Cider Press, in back, is fabulous. The servers are very friendly and efficient. The food is great and mostly local. We have been back several times and have never had a less than great experience. Now, we make it a priority to stop in every time we are in the area. Highly recommend!

Lei Kei Farm provides HUGE shares (enough for a family of 4 most weeks) with a wide variety of veggies, fresh herbs, and fruits. You can pick up your share once a week at the Curious Grape wine store in Shirlington. Probably one of the most convenient CSA's since you can pick up anytime between 12 noon - 8 pm, or even the next day if you can't make it. The only downside is that they don't sell eggs, cheese, poultry or meat. The vegetables and fruit are excellent though with a fabulous variety (they guarantee 8+ items each week!) It's also an 18-week program, longer than other CSA's in the area.
