I've always received great service here, prices were reasonable and quality of work was excellent. I just went by there today (9-19-23) and there are signs posted saying that they shut down on September 1, 2023. Very sad to see. Apparently they are open on Friday, Sept 22 for pick ups, probably should call first. Thanks D & D for all of your years or service to the community, you will be missed! read more

The craftsmanship that came from their shop today is unacceptable. The service today was not up to par with how it normally is when I go into the shop. The new boss man ( young dude) said his gun smith needs to get paid for his time, he put an hour of his time in a 35 dollar set of hand grips very sad and poor decision, since I was charged $95. He could have spent 5 hours on it and I don't think he could have done any better !! I have had a lot of work done here in the past and always like talking with the (Ole Man , great guy) read more

This has been an overdue review! This place was great they assisted me with an issue I had with my Bergara 6.5 CM, my bolt. Best part was the staff was extremely helpful and willing to assist me late into the day before they closed. I can't believe how amazing the staff was and best part they helped me at no charge. Needed some small things done on my Glock pistol - Truglo Sights and -3.5lb connector. Told them that it was no rush as I was going to travel out of town for the next two weeks. I was very surprised to get their call a week later that it was finished and ready for pick up. Very quick service. I couldn't wait to take it to the range! Finally got a chance to and everything worked like a charm! $65.00 for these minor installations- very reasonable! Hopefully I won't need their service a lot, but it's great knowing such a professional outfit is in the neighborhood! Highly recommend and will repeat! read more

Just recently visited D&D (last visit was 2 years ago) and again was given a verbal quote for work they would perform on my rifle --3 times I was quoted on the cost of the work (it was the same price each time I asked) and when it was time to pickup my rifle the cost was double the price they quoted me! They do not give you a WRITTEN quote for work to be done they just tell you the cost! You have nothing to prove to them on paper when they quoted you! Nothing but scammers who work there! BEWARE of this gunshop! Will never refer them to anyone! read more

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, SHODDY WORK. I brought in a Walther PPK that was having failures to feed on first round. They fixed that issue but the next time I took it to the range the mag started falling out after 2-3 rounds (it was NOT doing this before). I brought it back and they REFUSED to provide even a discount on the services for the second repair, even though clearly something they did caused the mag dropping issue. They refused to offer even an apology. If I'd put 400 rounds through it and then the mag started dropping, it would have been a different story, but that was not the case. Find another gunsmith, these guys are terrible. read more

OLD SCHOOL. 59 YEARS IN BUSINESS. PROs. This isn't a 'gun shop' run by 'sales staff' (altho they sell guns too), it's true gunsmith craftsman that know their tradecraft. I took in a semiautomatic .22 that began jamming on reload 50 years ago, then sat for decades. The counter guy took one look at it and diagnosed the problem in under 10 seconds -- and then fixed it in 15 minutes while I waited. If you're a candidate for gun repair or a new or used gun, search no further. read more

Very knowledgable and friendly. I have brought in multiple firearms for repair and general service over the last several years. The turnaround time is pretty good, but they do get backed up during certain periods, such as before firearm deer season, so don't expect overnight service. read more

D & D repaired my old H & R .22 revolver which had a burst barrel. They made a new barrel, perfectly replicating the length, size and major markings and blued it perfectly. Needed a fiber optic front sight installed on my XD9. Could not find a gunsmith in the commerce twp area that would or could do this work. After intense web search I found D an D in Troy. I took my shotgun there for a butt pad and barrel swivel. I went to pick up and the butt pad was OK but the barrel swivel looked like they used a storm door screen holder, drilled extra hole & was mill finished color. I refused the work. They called and I went back, they made a swivel wrong with-out my approval and wanted to charge me $162.50 for the swivel. Were in court now. Very rude people there. read more
