The San Salvario neighborhood in Turin is full of pleasant surprises. Interesting bars and cute little restaurants in every street invite you in to discover what they have to offer. This is what happened with D'Amblé, whose name means "suddenly", "unexpectedly": during a stroll through San Salvario we passed in front of this place and decided to stop for lunch.
Our experience could not have been more pleasant: The ambiance is simple and very curated, the menu is compact with plenty of interesting dishes. For lunch you have a selection of "D'Amblerini": small plates to share, most of them €10 or less. You also have a lunch "formula" of 2 dishes plus 1 glass of wine for €16-18. All the dishes we tried were great: the veal grissinopoli[1] was crunchy on the outside and most and tender on the inside; the octopus and squid salad with potatoes was fresh and tasty; the vegetable flan with toma d'alpeggio fondue on top was perhaps my favorite dish.
Great place. Looking forward to coming back for an aperitivo or for dinner.
