Fantastic restaurant for typical Turin and Piemonte cuisine. We actually tried to come here a couple of times, as this restaurant is close to where we were staying, but the place was always full. We just didn't realize how popular this osteria is; reservations are definitely recommended.
The ambiance is classic, with some modern touches; on the minimalist side. The food, however, is full of flavor. I suggest the menù degustazione/degustation meal, which allows you to pick a starter, a pasta dish, a main course, and a dessert from dishes on the menu with the symbol . At €33.50, the degustation meal is a really good deal.
Our dinner started with 2 amuse-bouche, followed by a true classic of Turin cuisine: vitel tonné (cold, sliced veal with tuna sauce); which came in two sauces, modern and traditional. The steak tartare with mustard and honey sauce that was melt-in-your-mouth delicate. The pasta courses we had were homemade tajarin with a really flavorful ragù sauce, and plin agnolotti with 3 meats roasts in their own sauce, which were as rich and delicious as they sound. We also had the potato gnocchi with pea cream and Piedmont morels, which I really liked. A polenta flan with two-milk cheese and leek cream was mild and delicate. But the real surprise of the meal was the stuffed onion with sausage and "Bra duro" cheese in a red wine sauce, which was phenomenal! Phenomenal was the local stewed meat with Barbera wine and mashed potatoes.
For dessert we had the thin chocolate millefoglie with mascarpone and coffee mousse, and the bonnet cocoa pudding with caramel sauce.
What else can I add: this was a great dining experience, and I look forward to coming back. read more
