With a great team at D'Augostinos they've earned 3 years of my confidence in complex repairs like remove and replace the front main oil seal, water pump, harmonic balancer, & all pulleys. Then it's new tires& front brakes on the Jeep and John telling us you don't need on the pads on the rear!They also wound up changing the driveshaft on the BMW X3 on a Friday late afternoon and returning the Beemer before closing at 6 PM D'Augostinos? I really wanted to love them because they are so close - but they were so rude. I came in and asked how long the wait was going to be...the guy told me to come in at the time i did and when he told me he had to look at a car...he began to service the car while i was waiting. When I asked him "hey why did you tell me to wait, when you knew you had to service another car?" he replied, "you wanna leave". Wow. yes, I left. Will never return or recommend. They will take advantage of you, my grandpa went in got ripped off charged $300 for something that would have taken $30, this is fraud.

Starting my Monday Afternoon with a flat tire that was definitely drivable somewhere close by my house, came here and was created by Luigi who got me in very fast. I brought my car in for oil change and hood was then held down with a wire. It was windy day. A minute after I left that shop, the hood flew open and smashed my windshield. Had to have it towed and back to that shop. Fifteen minutes later the owner came. He called ME an idiot and refused to agree to repair the damage that his shop in effect caused. They did put another wire to put hood down so I could slowly drive it home in Des Plaines. I had to sue him, and he settled. Thankfully I was not hurt by windshield being smashed with glass on my lap. Some people might have had injury or h attack. read more

My Dodge Ram 1500 was having an issue with the dreaded "Death Wobble" (Google it). The steering wheel and the truck would shake violently at speeds of 45 to 65 mph. Thinking it was a wheel out of balance, I took it to two popular tire franchises. I told them the problem and they both did an inspection of the wheels, the steering and the suspension. Both came back with the same answer, everything looked good and everything was tight. So, I take it to a Dodge dealer, thinking they would know better. I got the same answer that the tire franchises gave me, everything checked out good. Now I'm looking for a local independent repair shop. I find D'Agostino's, explained the issue to Luigi dropped the truck off. Later that day, I'm doing 80mph. on I-90 with my truck and the "Death Wobble" (Google it) was gone. D'Agostinos is in my neighborhood, if it's not in yours it would be worth the travel when you have car and truck issues. read more

Prior to bringing my car here to diagnose the electronic driver seat malfunction(seat does not move) I spoke to the owner's son. He sounded sincere and assured me that not only they work on cars, they also work on electrical issues and thoroughly troubleshoot to find the source. Therefore, I brought my car to be diagnosed. I had a busy day at work that day, therefore I forgot to call to check. I did not hear from D'agostino all day so I proceeded to call in the evening(they had the car all day). To my shock, the son informed that that worked on the car all day and still could not find the problem. I asked "why did you not call me first". He stated that they took the seat out and will charge me $600 dollars for labor. I said, you should've called me first and ask my permission before dismantling the car seat. Furthermore, if would've known that it would take the whole day - I would've said no. With that said, I did not have choice and told me that he would cut the labor price down to around $500.00. 3 days later, the son called me that they could not get the part that they needed. However, they found an alternative to get the car seat to work. He then said that for the $500.00, the seat will only move forward and back. If i want the back part to move, it would cost me another $165.00 because it would require more labor. I said, i dont really have a choice do I? I agreed to pay so that i can just get my car and told him that I want to talk to him personally to let him know my displeasure. When i arrived at the shop to pick up my car, the son was nowhere to be found. Instead i spoke to the owner, who complained that the worked on the car for 3 days. I politely told him that I paid you for your labor that i did not ask for. As soon as i got in my car, it was a mess. They did not bother to clean it up. Furthermore, the ray ban sunglasses that my wife gave me for Christmas was missing. I asked the owner what happened, he said that he is an honest man and so are his employees. He stated that It must've been misplaced while they worked on the car. I told since i cannot prove anything, I have to take your word for it. I asked him, how can a pair of sunglasses disappear from the compartment when it has nothing to do with the repair being done. He could not answer me. The worst part is that they screwed up my car computer. I asked why the "Service Engine Light" is on? He accused me of not telling his mechanic that it was on. I told it was not there when I brought the car in. I could not take it anymore, I left before I could say something that I might regret. Do not go to this establishment. They are incompetent and dishonest. read more

No rush at this place. Got the lowest estimate for an engine replacement when my car blew a timing belt 23 miles away. Submitted my repair request on Monday and was told they'd tow the car asap. By Friday, still no tow. By Sunday, I had the car towed myself thinking they were just too busy. Touched base with them Monday and was told they'd start working on it soon. By Friday, the car still hadn't moved so I called another shop (Engine Depot) about a mile away. Those guys towed the car right away and started working on it as promised! Had received negative word-of-mouth reviews from others but I usually give the underdogs a fair shake. I wouldn't have written this review otherwise but can only presume they gave me too low of an estimate and had no intention of doing the job. read more

Very honest place. I brought my cadillac in for repair and Rosario told me exactly what I needed to do and what could wait. He quoted me a price, which was WAY less than the dealership and they did a great job....I haven't had any issues at all. Very kind hearted people as well. While I was there I witnessed an elderly man walk into the shop and ask the owner for food. He told the owner he lost his house and his job and was very hungry. The owner (I think his name is Tony), told the man he would meet him at the subway next door and would buy him a sandwich. The elderly man replied "a big sandwich?" Tony said "I'll buy you two sandwiches". After a couple minutes I heard Tony tell the machanics that he'd be back in a couple minutes and he ran next door to Subway. I was shocked at this man's generosity. Very rare. I will definitely be coming back to this place! Oh and I also bought some really nice towels for my car here. I have had my car serviced at least 4 times over the last year at D'agostinos and that's only because they were conveniently located to my home and it saves me a tow. The first couple times just for minor things like oil changes and exhaust pipe repair. The last two times I've gone for a little more work. They were overpriced on the labor because I bought my own parts to them, some mechanics don't like that. The last time I went to them I thought because I was a returning customer and have spent close to $3000 on repairs with them that they would appreciate my business. I dropped my car off in the morning before they opened and I called them at 7:15am to explain the problem I was having with my car. I specifically told the guy over the phone that the car needed to be driven in order to see what I was talking about. (I only heard the problem when driving over 30mph). When he called me back with an estimate of $415 for rear shocks I asked if the mechanic drove the car and was told they can't drive it because it's a liability! If the mechanic can't drive the car how in the world did they get it into the garage?? When I picked up my car I paid total of $502 (added an oil change). They had not topped off my windshield wiper fluid so I asked for some and they tried to charge me another $3.00. I refused and they filled it up anyway angrily. As soon as I drove off I could feel the same problem so I went back and asked them to show me exactly what they had done. I asked the mechanic to take a drive with me so I could show him the problem that had not been fixed. When he looked at the car again he told me it was something else other than what I just paid for! I was livid! The manager Tony was very rude and disrespectful and he told me "I'm causing too much problems, that they fixed my car and if I'm not happy to go find another mechanic and don't come back there!" Trust me after that kind of service I would never return. This place is overpriced for very mediocre work and don't try to buy your own parts for repair they will certainly make up for that by charging you extra in labor. The owner Tony needs a lesson in customer service as well. read more
