They have had many property managers leave / quit / demoted over the years…read more The buildings are dirty, overflowing waste containers outside several of their buildings and the cleaners spend all day chatting / gossiping instead of actually cleaning their buildings. Tenants who make noise / break rules do not ever get any punishment - they are allowed to do what they want; especially the ones who are on Welfare. Some tenants smoke weed INSIDE their apartments, without any penalty even after being reported to Thorwen many times. (specific apartments have been reported at 2 different properties - NOTHING was done to the tenants). It is an immediate "termination of lease" BUT.. if you are on welfare or get your rent paid by a subsidy - you can do whatever you want. The management will turn a blind eye. The people who work hard all day and try to rest are constantly disturbed by loud obnoxius tenants above them - nothing is done to resolve this issue - ever - laundry gets stolen out of the shared laundry rooms and nothing is ever done. It gets reported - and then nothing is done to follow up. Tenants can run wild, be noisy at all hours of the day and night (as they don't work - why do they care about others in their building?) smoke weed inside their apartment - knowing they can get away with it. Especially if they are on welfare. Guaranteed rent money from our government. So why let them leave? Let them ruin the peace of hard working people who actually have jobs and work all day every day. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE PLACE - things get worse NEVEER better - this has been reported for several of their properties - Downtown and in the South area have been the worse reported for lack of cleanliness and tenants not following rules.

I lived at one of Thorwin Properties' buildings for a little over a year. Honestly? It was fine…read more Not a "shout it from the rooftops" kind of experiance, but definitely better than some of the horror stories I've had with other property manegers. One thing I will give them credit for is being pet-friendly--which, let's be real, is a rare find in Winnipeg. That said, don't get too excited if your fur baby is on the fluffier side--they're a bit strict when it comes to weight limits. Apparently, a few extra pounds is a dealbreaker.

Worldwide Management - "Caretaker" allowed his guests to sleep in the maintenance room. Pills, alcohol, and cigarettes laying around.

World Wide hired a drug dealing caretaker who turned the whole block into a drug den and refused to…read moredo anything about it despite the multiple complaints from multiple tenants. The apartment became unsafe as people began to try breaking in, did drugs openly in the front, dealed in the hallways, harassed tenants, and even gotten violent and threatening towards tenants as well. World Wide employees Courtney and Anne "handled" these complaints extremely poorly given the lack of action being taken. World Wide knew about all of these happenings from the multitude of phone calls, emails, and photos being sent to them on a regular basis during this time. Needles in the front, pill bottles in the hallways, sketchy people hanging out in the back and front, people grabbing the door and slipping in if a tenant left or went inside. The caretaker had also appointed several people as "co-caretakers", claiming that they were there to help him with his duties around the block. They did nothing but help him with his drug dealing and also posed a threat to the block. World Wide was told about these "co-caretakers" and did nothing. The absolute most they ever did was post a little note on the front door telling tenants that it's basically their problem, don't contact them anymore about these safety concerns but take it to the police instead and don't let sketchy people inside. A middle finger to everyone concerned for the block. On top of this is also the shotty repairs, and lack thereof, from their lazy maintenance man, Tom. Repairs were halfassed, plaster constantly breaking away in units and in the hallways, bathrooms always leaking, radiator pipes bursting, water dripping from electrical in the ceiling lights, ceilings in certain units were falling, mold. These repairs took either months and upwards of a year or they just weren't done at all. During the last days of them owning the building, and lying in their sale ad stating that it's in good condition, they stopped caring completely and pawned this all off to the new unsuspecting current owners. World Wide did alot and nothing at all at the same time, allowing this beautiful heritage block to fall into ruin and run when it became too much for them to fix their own mistakes. There was zero accountability and effort on their part and I hope they don't purchase any other blocks, if they do, I pray they do better and learn from this ordeal. At this moment though, I strongly recommend against renting any unit from them.

I dealt with this company for several months. In the beginning, they sounded very nice and…read moreprofessional. However, after they got hold of my money, their behavior changed dramatically. It was very difficult to get Jamie on the phone. To speak with him you have to book an appointment online. Seriously? I hire an employee and I have to book an appointment to talk to my employee? The rent money that has been collected on my behalf was spent without my permission and often against my directions. When I complained and requested my money back the answer was "You are not the person who set up the terms in this company". I have my contractors and we agreed with Oak&Apple that they will repair urgent things only, all other repairs suppose to be forwarded to me. Oak&Apple kept sending their "preferred" contractors who were way more expensive and not always provided expected quality. On top of that Oak&Apple, one day decided to charge a "coordination fee" of 24.99 per contractor invoice. Such a wonderful idea. They send their contractor who charges me a high price (based on my opinion) and on top of that Oak&Apple charge me 24.99. All that without my authorization and permission. Tenant selection is another story. I am not sure how their screening process work but in several cases the results were terrible. A few tenants selected by Oak&Apple were very bad. Property inspections were not sufficient as well. Garbage accumulation, fire panel damage were often discovered by inspectors and not by them. In my opinion, this is ridiculous and unprofessional. If I would have known all that I wouldn't have let them manage even a kennel.
