It was a fanciful bowl that played "light" and "hearty" in the same mix that made for a super tasty bowl of healthy eats. Hubby had the Protein Bowl with quinoa, beets, almonds, chili and brocolli. I preferred mine over his although his was exactly what he needed as far a nutrition. These two bowls were so refreshing and light but hearty enough to get full. Best part: every piece of the meal was healthy and worked together. I honestly could have eaten here every day just to sample the rest of the menu. You can add, delete, customize your food choices based on whether you are gluten-free, lactose intolerant, vegan, etc. You really can't go wrong with the food choices here. There is a smoothie bar also but you place your order(s) at another counter. Indoor seating with phone chargers available at each table (I guess that's a sign of the times nowadays). All in all, beets&roots is great for grabbing a quick bite. It's a casual environment. As the name suggests, the food is vegetarian. Posted on the menu are stuffed baked potatoes, soups, salads, and juices. Bottled drinks in a refrigerator to the side. Tall table seating indoors. The salads are either small or large. I ordered a small quinoa salad and grabbed a bottled pomegranate tea from the refrigerator. While the gentleman rung me up at the register, someone else put my salad together. All fresh ingredients in a bowl. Glad I decided on a small because large is way too much food. A rabbit can only eat so much in one sitting. My drink was good and salad delicious. I used the restroom before I left, which is on the right hand side, through the side door. The one problem I have with sitting at their outdoor tables is the same problem I have with virtually all of the restaurants in Berlin, they allow to people to smoke at these tables. One would think, at a vegetarian restaurant, they would not allow smoking. But, I have even witnessed staff members taking a break and going out there for a smoke. The only small issue was the service was kind of crappy. I hear that's the way it is in Germany, but I kind of expect a bit more. Also the door to the back smoking room was open, so every once in awhile you could smell smoke wafting past our table. That's not cool either. No one who doesn't smoke wants to smell cigarettes while they are eating. But I imagine if you get a table further to the back of the building, away from the room, you'll have better luck with that.
